The courageous Michelle Bachmann, longtime favorite of frequent commenter Young 4 Eyes, thinks that the Tea Party movement will become the dominant force of the GOP:
I wouldn’t go betting Bernanke’s next paycheck on that. The GOP has been nothing if not Progressive for a century, and that means progressively greater national debt.
This blog will remain completely skeptical until the McConnells and Demints and Steeles start talking about things like the Federalism Amendment. Instead, I cynically expect the GOP to publicly resist efforts like ObamaCare, while, in the spirit of crap like TARP and last year’s stimulus package, accidentally playing along with the Progressive agenda.
Until the GOP argues for substantial structural changes to deconstruct the Imperial Fed, all they really do is keep on pluckin’ that chicken.
