BHO Can’t Nationalize The Oil Companies

Sure, it seems like nationalizing the oil companies is the next logical thing, but there remains a pressing question: who would he next demonize? Software hasn’t been demonized yet. While the propaganda value of demonizing an outfit with shallow pockets (though not as shallow as this blog) makes it unfit for other than a stop-gap, until a better known/funded target can be found, something like FreeBSD does come with a built in demon. Also, many of its users, while not a rich source of votes, do have libertarian leanings.

    You’re badly mistaken, Smitty.

First of all, software isn’t as important as it used to be. The desktop is now bootmaker to King Cloud and the Obama administration has repeatedly demonized the Internet as “an echo chamber for terrorists.”

Oh yeah, and Obama and his czars want to dictate what websites you MUST link to.

To answer the rhetorical question: Obama can always demonise Fox News. Between the First Amendment (or what’s left of it) and the willingness of other networks to stand in solidarity with Fox, should Obama overreach, the opportunities to use Fox as his punching bag will continue for a while. (Now, I’m not an optimist, so I wouldn’t say that it will continue indefinitely, but it will take Obama a while to break them.)

Now, if you’re talking about industries to nationalise, there’s always three more big ones: charity, higher education, and people’s retirements. All three of those things have giant pots of money that the government would love to get its hands on – and has been trying to for a while.
