I’m thinking this scene is repeated fairly often:

Brooks/Matthews brings a page of text to Times/MSNBC management, says “Here is what I’m planning to say, can you take a look at it?”

Times/MSNBC manager/editor/whatever takes a look, reads it over, and replies “Well, it’s got potential, but it isn’t NEARLY Douchebaggish enough – You’re off your game today – we’ve got a reputation to uphold here. Bring this back to me when it’s got at least 50% more Douchebaggery and then maybe we can run it!”
