Why Is It That Nothing Sounds Too Creepy For This Administration?

Townhall links a letter from Sens. Grassley, Hatch (R-Utah), Vitter (R-La.), Bunning (R-Ky.), Chambliss (R-Ga.), Isakson (R-Ga.), Inhofe (R-Okla.), and Cochran (R-Miss.), saying:

We understand that there’s a push for your Administration to develop a plan to unilaterally extend either deferred action or parole to millions of illegal aliens in the United States. We understand that the Administration may include aliens who have willfully overstayed their visas or filed for benefits knowing that they will not be eligible for a status for years to come. We understand that deferred action and parole are discretionary actions reserved for individual cases that present unusual, emergent or humanitarian circumstances. Deferred action and parole were not intended to be used to confer a status or offer protection to large groups of illegal aliens, even if the agency claims that they look at each case on a “case-by-case” basis.

One rather hopes its just a trial balloon.
November is coming.

    Obama isn’t on the ballot in November and he really doesn’t give a rat’s patootie about other Democrats – all are expendable in the cause of the Revolution of the Beloved Leader; some will lose their offices, others their lives, but it is all worth it to glorify His Magnificence, even for a fleeting moment.

    The President’s powers of pardon are unrestricted – he can pardon who he wishes, when he wishes, and it can never be challenged or reversed. It is severely doubtful that a Presidential pardon secured by a direct cash bribe could be invalidated – the President would be impeachable and prosecutable, but the pardon would stand. Be afraid, be very afraid.

    The actions the letter describes are not Presidential pardons but various actions of the Immigration Dept. Unfortunately these are fairly routine. When done legitimately they are usually the result of awaiting a ruling from another Dept. such as State or a backlog in the hearings process. The company I used to work for kept track of impending green card expiration’s in order to comply with immigration law and remind employees to start working the renewal process. It was not unusual to get notification in the field that all aliens from a particular country had a blanket extension of their resident alien cards. As the motives of the current regime are almost never legitimate your advice to be afraid is well taken.
