How Not to Fix Your Economy

“Greek labor unions were planning a general strike and a mass protest on Wednesday against the country’s economic austerity measures.”

The labor unions, which have done so much to wreck the Greek economy, are now fighting against efforts to repair the damage.

It’s like Wisconsin, really.

I hesitite to type this – I am not trolling here. I do listen to what you’re saying, and I swear I won’t beat this horse.

But Cain was one of the 13 corporate leaders who designed the American portion of the secretive SPP, an plan to intentionally bypass the legislative process and open the borders between Mexico, Canada, and the USA through the bureaucracy.

How can the immigration enforcement proponents, who hated the SPP, actually be expected to overlook that?

Well it is like Wisconsin, except Greece has better weather.

    And prettier women.

    Unions are the satraps.

A friend in Madistan, who works for the State of Wisconsin, tells me that there’s “a lot of anger” rampant among State employees. The prognosis: there will be some sort of job-action (read: strike/slowdown/work-to-rules) in the near future.

    Stay tuned.

I know Greece is supposed to be a cautionary tale, there but for the Atlantic Ocean go we and all that, but….

I was stationed in Greece 20 something years ago. The economy of the Western world was doing pretty darn good. But observed productivity in Greece at the time was not especially high. Nationwide strikes were a relatively common occurrence – and some union or other striking was a regular occurrence.

It was kind of a running joke – we would get informed that there was a national strike (so as to prepare for whatever impact there was) and our response would be “how can you tell?”

Well, that sounds like something that should be investigated further. Since Cain is running as a Republican, we can be sure the MSM will be all over it if he were to be the 2012 nominee.

Obama will be carrying two corpses on the campaign trail: Osama’s and the economy’s. The latter will be hard to hide, its stench overwhelming.5/11/11 7:54 PM
