SCOAMF Scandal: Investigation of Obama’s Solyndra Cronies Continues

Posted on | September 9, 2011 | 27 Comments

Big trouble with Obama’s “green energy” scam buddies:

Federal agents have expanded their examination of the now-bankrupt California solar power company Solyndra, searching the homes of the company’s CEO and two of its executives, examining computer files and documents, iWatch News and ABC News have learned.
Agents visited the homes of CEO Brian Harrison and company founder Chris Gronet and a former executive . . .
The raid and visits come amid increasing evidence the Justice Department and Inspector General are exploring whether Solyndra misled the government in securing its $535 million loan in 2009 . . .
Members of Congress leading a House investigation of the DOE loan have focused specifically on visits Solyndra CEO Harrison made to Washington in July, when he said the company was on sound footing and expanding.

Here’s the ABC News video report:

Instapundit highlights the tight connection between Solyndra and the Obama administration: “Officials from the Department of Energy have for months been sitting in on board meetings as ‘observers’ at Solyndra, getting an up-close view as the solar energy company careened towards bankruptcy after spending more than $500 million in federal loan money.”

Ace of Spades has more on the Solyndra scandal, including this bit of relevant information:

According to White House visitor logs, between March 12, 2009, and April 14, 2011, Solyndra officials and investors made no fewer than 20 trips to the West Wing. In the week before the administration awarded Solyndra with the first-ever alternative energy loan guarantee on March 20, four separate visits were logged.
George Kaiser, who has in the past been labeled a major Solyndra investor as well as a Obama donor, made three visits to the White House on March 12, 2009, and one on March 13

What did Obama know and when did he know it?

This is straight out of Atlas Shrugged: Obama administration officials would attend company board meetings.  Way to go Barry!

Not to sound paranoid, but I was afraid that the Justice Dept.’s “raid” was designed to clean up data that might be inconvenient to the Obama Administration, not to expose it.

On the other hand, if the Dems ever reached the point that they lost all faith in Obama’s electoral prospects, the bottom of Obama’s bus could drop out on him in a Chicago minute.

Given what just came out this morning about the third Fast and Furious gun at the Agent Terry murder scene, your fears are well-founded.

There still has been no explanation offered for why Solyndra obtained loans as low as 1.0% interest while others in the same program paid 3-4%.  The revelation that White House officials were in on the process gives us a clue, though.

Also, regarding the Fast and Furious scandal, the FBI is now using the phrase “obstruction of justice,” which won’t be good news for the Regime, either.

I am so sick of every scandal connected with Zero’s administration being covered up. They seem to go nowhere.

Before Obama was elected I read a comment from a person who was having some kind of work done in their house and I think it was somewhere near Chicago. The author of the post said to the 20  or so year old African American guy who was working something about Obama. His response, “That guy is so crooked he won’t last out his whole term.” (I guesshe  was one of the 2% or so of AA’s who didn’t actually vote for Obama?) I think Obama is incredibly corrupt but I’m not too sanguine about it leading to anything against the faux messiah.

What did Obama know and when did he know it? When he told the greenies how much he wanted donated and when he wanted it donated…This baby stinks of pigs ass.

Cover Up.  We all knew that the day the raids happened.

How about expanding the investigation of the White House? Assuming there’s no FBI/DoE coverup in play, it takes two to tango. So who among all those advancing “green jobs” and the Van Jones redistribution of wealth via environmentalism method were holding dance cards?

Some time over the next year I expect we’ll see lots of smoke out of the chimney’s at the white house as well as dumpsters full of “outdated” computer equipment being “recycled” from every cabinet level department.
As for the Solyndra, perhaps that spokesman didn’t know what the FBI and Energy Department were looking for but somebody there got handed a copy of the search warrant, specifying what and where they expected to find evidence.
Once again this administration is unprecedented. Most administrations don’t have to start invoking executive privilege till some time in their second term.

Aspects of The One’s political career eerily remind me of that Will Smith movie, Six Degrees of Separation (1993).

Exactly.  If I were a Congressman investigating this, I would keep a very close eye on the Justice Department.

Holder is nothing but a corrupt banana republican.

Okay, I’m about four years late in wondering about the above connection.

The infamous 2007 “Magic Negro” article in the LA Times, oft mentioned by Rush (after getting attacked for airing the Paul Shanklin song inspired by the same article) had anticipated the same eerie similarities: http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-ehrenstein19mar19,0,3391015.story.

Everyone knows these “green energy” setups are just a corruption scam or front for something else.

In my small town is a very, very quiet alleged green energy company.  I only saw activity in there once, three enormous, thick-necked guys in a fancy office–with a framed, autographed picture of Obama prominently displayed.

Maybe they really are executives or entrepreneurs or scientists.  That notwithstanding, I wouldn’t want to meet any of them in a dark alley.

I agree, but I wonder if Issa et al have the capacities to see through/around the obstructions. As others have mentioned, it might be impossible/infeasible to get even halfway to the bottom of things until/unless a GOP victory in 2012.

At that point, the Chicago gang will have had more time to straighten out their affairs and the magnanimous GOP victors might wish to “move on” instead of sullying the offices of the President, Justice, etc.

The raid was to pre-empt and scuttle the Congressional investigation.  Like w/ Gunwalker, DOJ will claim they can’t release requested documents or allow personnel to testify because it would interfere w/ an ongoing investigation.

Rest assured, documents in the FBI or DoJ hands will simply, no longer exist.

Mrs. Palin’s right:  Crony capitalism is bad for America, and this is just another stinking pile of proof.

The crew competing to take a shot at Mr. Obama should see this as an Object Lesson, and take note.
