Another Installment In This Blog’s ‘Gentleman’ Jim Moran Apology Series

World renowned financial expert ‘Gentleman’ Jim Moran, at 2:00 in the following clip:

You can’t acquire financial security through earned income today; the only way you do it is by having an appreciating asset.

By ‘asset’ I presume he means a set of lobbyist donkeys, and ‘appreciating’ may amount to the kinds of things that Congressmen do which are perfectly legal, yet which, were details to leak, could lead to tar and feather shortages. Solyndra is the general sort of thing I’m talking about, though Moran is older, and likes him some DoD kickbacks.

I just love ‘Gentleman’ Jim’s commitment to American Exceptionalism on display in that quote. To paraphrase: “Give up.” Longer Moran: “If you don’t accept your government cheese with gratitude, we can force feed you.” Oh, and as somebody who has managed his mortgage and student loans gracefully and traditionally, thanks for the kick in the wallet, Congressman. Government market tampering: just keep the monkeys typing, so that they either arrive at Shakespeare or something an idea nearly as good as the market would have developed naturally.

The good news for VA-8 is that Patrick Murray is apparently going to mount another campaign. ‘Gentleman’ Jim is emblematic of every shark-jumping tendency in Congress. America: I’m sorry we haven’t drained this carbuncle on the public bottom yet. Just want you to know we’re trying.

Given that the DC Metro area is relatively prosperous what do you think his chances are this time?

Now that they’ve declared DC an indocumentado sanctuary, there’s a real chance of Democrat white and black flight to VA that will just blue it further…

Moran’s victory margin was knocked ~in half by an energetic candidate with scant name recognition. Building on that. . .

Remains to be seen, but I lack a counter-argument.

Actually I doubt that. It’s been ten years since I lived in that area but I grew up in Arlington. First the place has always been an indocumentado sanctuary, they just finally made it official so they could be even more  sanctimonious. I’m sure they also did it to piss off the republicans in the house kinda like reelecting Marion Barry. This strategy will have proved particularly brilliant if the Republicans take the Senate and the WH as the federal government supplies more the half of DC’s budget.
Second the white gentry liberals love diversity, multiculturalism, home security systems and private schools.
Third most of the poor black folks who live in DC are pretty much stuck there and migrating back and forth between DC and Prince Georges county is more likely. When I lived and worked in the area, often on projects in DC, I always thought it brilliant planning that VA had a river between it and Washington.

Moran will be the favorite again, but perhaps not by so much.  Even Democrats are becoming disgusted with Obama’s poor performance and Republicans will be energized again.

Given the spread in the House, the fact that it is looking to be a GOP year nationally, and the 2-1 retirement edge the GOP enjoys, this race should be worth throwing some funding into, if for no other reason than to try to get this idiot out of government and into an institution with nice, soft walls.

“You can’t acquire financial security through earned income today; the only way you do it is by having an appreciating asset.”Is this not true?

If relations between DC blacks and hispanics in any way resemble the relations between LA blacks and hispanics, the blacks will have a very real incentive to leave…

Jim Moron is only 3/5 of an asset, and I do not appreciate him.

Only if you can prove the first part — which, good luck proving a negative.

The relationship isn’t as acrimonious or as violent partly because the Hispanic minority is much smaller compared to the Black community. According to the last census the Blacks are a smaller minority than Asians and much smaller than Hispanics or Latinos. They are therefore very threatened by the competition for the entitlement pie.
In DC Blacks outnumber Whites by 3 to 2, Hispanics by 5 to 1 with small Asian population (3.5%). It’s all about the pie. Surprisingly to me the White population is growing while the black population is falling. When I searched demographics for DC the first two pages contained WP stories with the gnashing of teeth about the shrinking blackness of the city. If this trend continues expect much more shrieking from the Black political class about the threats to their livelihoods…….er culture, if this demographic genocide continues.
