#OWS ‘Day of Action’: Many Hippies Arrested; Unfortunately, None Shot

Women at Occupy Wall Street protest display
sign reading, ‘F**k the System, NYPD, Bloomberg’

“They’re the kind of commie scum who give commie scum a bad name . . . Therefore if I were the commander of the NYPD riot squad, my orders would be to open fire and shoot to kill. We’d make Kent State look like a Sunday school picnic. The brutality would be something more on the scale of Guernica, complete with Predator drone airstrikes.”
Robert Stacy McCain, Oct. 8

Today was the “Day of Action” commemorating the two-month anniversary of The World’s Worst Protest Movement. Headlines:

Several police officers have been injured in clashes with the bolshevik mob, which has shut down many streets and caused traffic nightmares for ordinary people trying to get to and from work. The photo at the top of the post comes from a video shot at the corner of Williams and Pine streets in the financial district. The obscene sign shows up at 1:05 and then you see a man leading a chant and beating a drum. About 1:50, the man apparently swings his drumstick at a policeman and is arrested:

Hostility toward law enforcement officers is usually evidence of a general anti-social attitude and the “Occupy” movement is motivated as much by hatred of cops as by hatred of capitalism. These are the kind of left-wing scum who hold candlelight vigils for cop-killers — cop-killers being the patron saints of the Left’s anti-social faith — and I continue to be amazed at the restraint shown by the NYPD in not giving these hippie punks the kind of brutality they deserve.

UPDATE: Commie scum hate schoolchildren:

Some grade school students were forced to walk a gauntlet of screaming “Occupy Wall Street” protesters just to get to school on Thursday. . . .
In the middle of thousands of protestors yelling and chanting — some kicking and screaming — CBS 2’s Emily Smith found little school kids trying to get to class. Nervous parents led them through the barriers on Wall Street. The NYPD helped funnel the children, anything to ease their fears while some protestors chanted “follow those kids!”
“These guys are terrorists, yelling at little kids,” one father said.

Like I said: Predator drone strikes.

I am amazed at the restraint of the NYPD, having been in close proximity when they were swinging night sticks with absolutely no restraint.

What about the former police captain who was arrested? How does he fit into you analysis?

Perhaps he’s a former police captain for a reason.

Stacy, I really hate being the voice of reason but we can’t have our law enforcement machine gunning Bolsheviks in the streets despite the obvious virtues of such actions, the optics would be counter productive.

the optics would be counter productive.

What? Millions of Americans nationwide would stand and cheer. And it would certainly discourage any further outbreaks of such commie protests.

“Occupy Pine Box” wouldn’t attract many volunteers.

Time to throw the book at these clowns.  Best not to consult a certain Government agency that has a, shall we say, novel view of crime and punishment … http://bit.ly/qVdDUt

As to the opening missive of Oct. 8, why is there no nuking from orbit just to be sure?

It would be just as easy to speculate, especially given the photo, that he had simply served out his time in the force and retired. But I am sure, given the photo in the Washington Post that we will know more by morning.

While presenting no conflicts to my principals I suspect arguing the nuanced difference between shooting Bolsheviks and unarmed Syrians could be difficult in this poisonous media environment.

I’m with Stacy, except on using Predators.  On that, I stand with Adobe Walls in the preference for machine guns.

Except that I strongly recommend mini-guns.  With a huge supply of ammo.

God I can’t believe I’m the one saying this. We have to be in it to win it which sometimes means discretion or even deceit is the better part of valor.

Discretion is necessary, but only in writing the rules of engagement such that genuine innocents are protected.

Don’t let the media frame the message, as has happened many times in Iraq and Afghanistan.  The media lost that battle when the R-O-E were followed, and the chain of command told the media to take a flying leap at a rolling donut.

Or the media’s attempts to frame Israel as the war criminal.

Don’t let the media frame the message.

JeffS: My point exactly with all the cameras in private hands it’s not possible to keep unwanted video from getting out there, more creative solutions are required. For instance they protesters can be shot while attempting to escape or drown from jumping off the boat taking them to Rikers Island. And then of course there is from time to time carbon monoxide leaking in to the rear compartments of police vans. Creativity is the key.

It saddens me that this den of bigotry and misunderstanding has so much support. I sincerely wish that the hatred displayed here could be turned into support for the millions of us who are without adequate health care or education due to incredibly unfair income distribution. I fall into the one percent category so it doesn’t really concern me, however i am willing to bet that many of the commentators here do not and could stand to gain immensely some of the reforms proposed by the more articulate branch of OWS were enacted. Please, I urge you to research before you react. Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself.

  25. JeffS
    November 18th, 2011 @ 1:08 am

My apologies, sir!  You are merely thinking outside the box.  I agree completely, and hope you continue working the draft R-O-E.  We’re going to need them, I fear.

  26. JeffS
    November 18th, 2011 @ 1:19 am

Well, since you belong to the 1%, you can help right away, by providing healthcare to some of those millions supposedly lacking it*.  Write a check, and get them suitable insurance.

And if you go through a charity, it’ll be tax deductible, a clear win-win, unlike donating the same cash to the Democrats.  As political contributions are NOT tax deductible, that would be a lose-lose.

    ========
*: Just so ya know, the “millions of us who are without adequate health care ” is a hoax and lie.

    PS:  That’s called “research”.

PPS: If you are part of the 1%, how is it that you keep on saying “us” when speaking of the 99%?  Are you Michael Moore using a sock puppet?

PPPS:  You quote the Golden Rule, so let me point out that I do *not* want my car crapped on by some cretin who’s angry that his masters in Modern Asian Gay And Lesbian History Studies didn’t fetch him an easy billet paying at least 5 figures.  Just sayin’, is all.

  27. JeffS
    November 18th, 2011 @ 1:21 am

Indeed.  So go with the flow, dude!

Besides, the machine guns can be positioned on upper floors for awesome plunging fire.  That’ll supplement the mini-guns quite nicely.

  28. Adjoran
    November 18th, 2011 @ 2:15 am

I agree – that’s a last resort measure.  But there’s a wide range of options between “gun ’em down now” and “issue them a polite citation and stand aside.”

Residents and businesses in the neighborhood have rights, too, and compliance with lawful local ordinances does not infringe upon the right to free speech – Tea Party rallies managed to buy permits, pay police overtime, purchase event insurance, and leave no trash behind.

The first and most important function of government is to protect the safety of its citizens from outlaws, foreign or domestic.  When lawlessness rules the streets, government has failed in its primary claim to legitimacy.

Crack some heads, bring in horses and dogs, then water cannon and tear gas if necessary.  But the civil order must be preserved, or no one’s “freedoms” are worth a bucket of hippy spit.

  29. Adjoran
    November 18th, 2011 @ 2:17 am

The problem occurs when some Democrat Mayor decides to use those tactics on Tea Parties.

There is nothing wrong with appropriate force.  If the OWS jerks begin setting fires or looting, shoot to kill becomes a reasonable practice.  Passive criminals still must be arrested, but aren’t due deadly force.

Actually I suspect that most of us would benefit materially from the machine gunning of the morlocks in the streets and those who would benefit from the achievement of their goals.

FYI we prefer to think of this place as a haven or sanctuary of bigotry and misunderstanding.

I suspect you’ve missed part of the spirit of the conversation.
Be that as it may while unfortunate for the particular Tea Party groups initially subjected to extreme law enforcement the galvanizing and clarifying effect might have proved worth it.

Position the mini-guns on the ground. With milspec ball ammo you’ll get more than one for each round. If you are using the 6000rpm version, you’ll go through too much ammo too, so use the slower gear head and get 3000 rpm to make the ammo last longer. Make sure you set a good perimeter so the survivors can’t get away so you can haul them off to the gulag. Have plenty of semis and box cars on hand to haul ’em away.

  38. JeffS
    November 18th, 2011 @ 10:36 pm

Just my thinking, although I didn’t consider the slower gear head.  The machine guns at elevation can pick off the ones along the edges, trying to hide or run.
