New Cain Campaign Video: ‘Put an Executive in the Executive Office’

Posted on | November 30, 2011 | 69 Comments

The Herman Cain campaign today released a new online video focusing on job creation and economic issues:

A press release (see full text below) from the campaign called the video a “new Iowa ad,” although the length — 51 seconds instead of 30 seconds — would make it incompatible with standard broadcast requirements. The statement from campaign spokesman J.D. Gordon did not include any specifics about when or in what venues the video might be aired.

** TEXT OF CAIN CAMPAIGN PRESS RELEASE **

Cain Releases New Ad in Iowa;
Campaign Moves Forward

It’s time to draw a line in the sand.
While the Obama Administration sits on the sidelines, and Congress gets nothing done to help end this crippling recession, Republican candidate for president, Herman Cain, is traveling the country, spreading his vision to jump-start the economy and create a climate where businesses can grow and produce.
Take a moment and watch the Cain Campaign’s latest video, shot in a factory, in which Mr. Cain lays out a clear and concise message on how to get the manufacturing sector in this country back on track, generating millions of new, high-paying, private sector jobs.
It’s no secret that the Democrat Party and their surrogates in the mainstream media are out to derail Herman Cain’s candidacy, and the only way for them to succeed is to destroy him personally.
How can we expect good conservative “candidates of the people” to stand up against the “establishment” and run in the future if we abandon Herman Cain now?
It’s time to tell it like it is: Herman Cain threatens the Democrat Party like no other candidate, and because they cannot defeat him on the battlefield of ideas, they must resort to the desperate strategy being played out in public now and fueled on by the liberal media.
Don’t let it happen. Watch Mr. Cain talk about what’s really important: Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Then send the link to your friends and help them learn about the “9-9-9 Plan” and Jobs. Jobs. Jobs

Why do I have this dire feeling of dread that everyone Herman has singled out for Department Secretaries are all women?

You know, if they had put out a press statement like that a month ago, I think it would’ve worked. Unfortunately now, I think they’ve back-tracked and been off message for too long.

Ladd, you are nice guy and all, but come on.

You are just like this Ginger White woman.  Didn’t get what you wanted (Cain wasn’t even involved in your situation)….so now you want to harm Cain.

I imagine, had those funds transferred from the Cain Campaign bank account into your personal bank account you would be singing a different tune.

As a business owner who constantly has to sell myself and my services, I know that not every lead is going to lead to a contract.

I have had negotiations with potential Clients that have gone on for long periods of time that ultimately didn’t lead to more money in my pocket.

However, that is business.  I don’t go around defaming those people who decided not to do business with me for three reasons:

    1)  It is business…competition is fierce…and potential Clients can’t be forced to work with me.

    2) It is a terrible business decision.  Just because somebody doesn’t do business with you on one occasion doesn’t mean they want refer you to others or won’t consider you for future work.

    3) It makes you look terrible to others with whom you exhibit such behavior and loses you business and friends.  As a business owner, I could probably take advantage of your services, but based on your response to not winning a bid….I could never consider you and certainly wouldn’t recommend you to anybody.

How many jobs has Herman Cain, a businessman, created compared to all the other candidates? Are we going to continue to give power to the political class, who have every incentive to maintain the status quo, and then bitch when nothing is ever solved?

The next time we feel the urge to blame career politicians for the mess, maybe we ought to blame ourselves for continuing to put them in power.

As opposed to you, I don’t do this for a living.

I do what I do for the cause. It’s not a business to me. I don’t work for candidates I don’t believe in, and I don’t hold my tongue when someone I’m not working for is being a jerk to my friends, being an Elmer Gantry, and a sociopath lying to good people and getting them to donate to his book tour.

That’s what I see, and I won’t back down on it unless I get evidence otherwise.

I couldn’t care less about getting referrals from him or anyone else by being a coward and doing the “political” thing with a crappy client, just so that they won’t talk “bad” about me.

As for being just like the Ginger White woman: screw you.

  17. Adjoran
    November 30th, 2011 @ 9:39 pm

Totally out of line.  Had you bothered to read Ladd’s personal account, you would realize he’s not mad AT ALL about not getting the gig.  He feels screwed because they strung him along even after they had committed to someone else, keeping him from pitching his services to someone else.  That’s not the mark of a good businessman.

Sure, it wasn’t Cain himself, but someone he hired.  But isn’t Cain the one who wants us to look at who he hires, and trust in the other unnamed advisers he will bring in?

Well, the people he hired SUCK, and so does Cain.

    Herman Cain, brilliant executive?

Question:  what was the annual sales of Godfather Pizza the year before he took over?  The year he left?

Question 2:  Was Cain’s tenure as CEO of the National Restaurant Association a success, or not?

  19. Joe
    November 30th, 2011 @ 9:51 pm

Adjoran, Godfather’s Pizza was in bad shape when Herman Cain took it over (I think it was still owned by Pillsbury) and was headed to complete bankruptcy, he made it profitable and then organized a buy out of control from Pillsbury.

Herman Cain is the real deal on that.  That is why many of us supported him.  I still hope he proves these allegations to be false.  But I doubt he will be the nominee or even considered for a veep spot.

That was the first sale Cain, or Romney for that matter, never made for me. The notion that it takes business experience to solve our economic problems. I have no idea how to direct a modern mechanized force, I am confident however that removing the anti-tank mines from in front of them is a good place to start.
A few basic governing principles go a long way.
#1 Almost without exception, whatever government doesn’t fuckup it shits on. This phenomenon increases exponentially as it climbs successively higher levels of government. (This is why the UN should in no way be considered a “governing” body)
    #2 Liberty good.
#3 We don’t need to make the economy go, we need to LET IT go.

Was Romney’s tenure in MA a success? Was his career at Bain a success? Don’t think so.

Was Gingrich a success? He says he was but listen to Tom Coburn and you’ll get a different story.

Perry a success? I’m a marginal fan of Perry but his touted successes are somewhat overblown as well.

The issue here is that we DO need to judge Cain on his successes but we can’t while everyone is slandering and libeling the guy.  He’s been back on his heels ever since the dirty tricks started and its clear neither he nor his campaign were prepared for it.

The question is, would the other GOP candidates have been well prepared for this kind of unexpected slander? If no then they wouldn’t look any better than Cain. If yes, then I have a feeling that their preparation would be indicative of guilt.  Clinton always had an answer because he practiced what he would say about accusations that he knew were true.  To me it’s clear that Cain has never given a single thought to how he would have to respond to allegations such as these anymore than any of us would contemplate how to respond if we were innocent.

I do fault him for not having a better staff but pros don’t come cheap and actually, most of the pro campaign manager types are people like Karl Rove.

Gingrich the success quit the congressional seat he had just won because the GOP stripped him of the Speakership.  He betrayed the trust of the people who voted for him.

Didn’t this party have a lot of trouble with someone else who supposedly abandoned her electorate?  Why should Newt get a pass?

Hey Donna – give us a reason to vote for Herman Cain and NOT think that he’s an incompetent campaigner – and disloyal to boot.

A good campaigner is needed to beat $1 billion obama dollars.

You have considered that, right? He controls the MSM, has a billion dollars of ad money…

Oh right. Herman has you to shriek at people and call them enemies on a forum. That trumps Obama’s warchest.Don’t shriek like an insignificant harpy in desperate need of personal validation. Tell me why Herb’s a good campaigner and can beat Obama.

I actually like Disqus from the perspective that it lets me comment at a bunch of sites without having to change my user information.

Now, I don’t even really frequent sites that don’t use Disqus.

In 2008, people went out of their way to point out that Obama’s supposedly masterful management of his campaign was proof of his ability to lead.  Some went so far as to say it made up for his lack of executive experience.

While that may seem more like gilding the lily, it bears a scintilla of truth.

Cain needs to do more than masterfully manage his campaign funds (which has been impressive).  He needs to link arms with the right-side new media, and give them some serious TLC.

Well, yeah, he can.  Palin got her own ratings under control by keeping her content fresh on Facebook.

Obviously, the Cain team keeps in touch with RSM.

But the hiring and firing of staff…well that is on Block…I don’t know what the story is with the guy RSM always mentions they should hire (wasn’t he fired or his contract not renewed or something?).

Obviously, they need to get NH under control.  Not because they could win in RINO land, but just for appearance sake.  They seem to be fairly well organized elsewhere (considering they still organize based upon a grass roots structure mostly).

It now seems (reported by the Examiner tonight…though it has been alluded to in other stories…but not in such detail) that the Ginger White thing is completely fabricated.

Ultimately, I don’t care about sex issues no matter if its Newt nailing staffers, rumors of Perry being gay, or Cain’s bimbo explosion.  But if it is false, I do feel for Cain’s family.

Regardless, it is on Cain to fight.  So far, he has.

The new website is pretty good.  Though I actually think it has too much content now.

The other night, when RSM was complaining about the website;s lack of info for journalist…Team Cain evidently was paying attention.  The site has been updated again…directly as a result (it seems) of RSM (good job).

Cain seems to be pretty good about social media.

I believe at the time Sarah Palin received a lot of press for the Facebook postings was when she dropped out the race and stopped giving interviews.

Not only has Facebook lost a bit of mojo lately (believe it….it will eventually become like MySpace and lose out to Google’s social networking platform or something)…but it isn’t plausible for Cain to only get his message out through one source.

Cain is in a tough fight.  That is all it is.  We can’t fight for him, we can only encourage him to do so himself.

He will have to fight the media, continually, there is still (hopefully) another year of this stuff Cain is going to have to put up with.

Like I have always maintained…I don’t care if it true.  Merely pointing out that the woman’s story is falling apart.

So Ms. White was juggling a marriage, a lesbian relationship, and Herman Cain…all at the same time?

    Hmmm…
