Andrew Breitbart in CPAC Video:
‘This Is the Charles Johnson Special’

Posted on | March 2, 2012 | 72 Comments

Thanks to I Own the World for this memorable video moment in which Andrew Breitbart poses for a photo with Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, featuring a surprise cameo appearance:

People who get the joke are laughing their asses off. Everybody else is wondering, “Who is Charles Johnson?”

UPDATE: Professor Reynolds gets the joke. And Charles Johnson just called me a “racist piece of s–” on Twitter.

We must each do our own small part to carry on the legacy.

He drew attention to Buckhead’s post when it could have been buried until long after the charges against Bush had reached the point of no return. That not only counts as “doing something,” but to people that aren’t completely tone-deaf to how propaganda and mass marketing works, it’s possibly the most important thing anyone could have done. He may have done it for the wrong reasons, but by blowing the lid off the scandal and proving the media can and will forge evidence in pursuit of a political goal, he was critical to weakening the complete stranglehold they had over the entire news cycle, making enough people realize that competition (even from people as skeezy as FOX and Breitbart) was important, and most importantly, taught people that the research they do isn’t completely pointless.

He got bit in the ass when it turned out getting people to think for themselves isn’t such a good thing when your own goal is to be completely free of any criticism at all, even though you’re human, are destined to  make mistakes, and only the same mindless sycophants that you tried to stop when they were flattering other people would help suppress any mention of these mistakes, but he still deserves credit for turning DopeGate into RatherGate.

Thanks for the explanation.  I know Johnson is a #^**@!, but I wasn’t sure why a photo of those three (and photobomb-Stacy) would be a “CJ special.”

Charles was also the one who set up the flickering GIFs that showed that the memos created back in the 1970s were actually typed using MS Word.

I read LGF back in the day, so I respected him for that. His behavior afterwards — such as banning people, taking down his archives — makes me wonder if he hadn’t suffered a brain injury while riding his bike.

Looking back, though, the clues were all there. His bullying behavior toward weblogs that didn’t moderate their commenters (even though he rarely moderated his own), his prima donna behavior as head of PajamasTV… Jim Jones exhibited the same signs of narcisstic disorder, long before his name became synonymous with mass suicide or even communal retreat from society. Given his charity and civil rights work, it wasn’t surprising at all that he could convince nearly a thousand people to follow him into the mouth of Hell… the surprise came when he actually did lead them there, throw them in, and jump in himself, for no better reason than the fact that some of his people tried to leave.

The point is that Charles Johnson took credit for and benefited from the work of others.

Then he turned on the very same people who supported him. THAT is called chickenshit.

“… his prima donna behavior as head of PajamasTV…”
Charles Johnson was not the head of anything, and you’re talking about Pajamas Media. PM was a collaborative work that turned out to be successful. Charles realized that he didn’t fit in (probably because he couldn’t control PM’s direction) and he left on his own, according to people who were there.

Systolic muscle from cat small intestine shows two types of spontaneous slow electrical waves in the frequency. That’s Charles’ problem without further extrapolation necessary. His pump is inverted.

Call it what you like. I’ve benefited from having clean running water and flush toilets, in spite of having never even fixed a pipe in my entire life, but if my plumber ever breaks into my house at 3AM some morning without my permission, I’ll gun him down like I would any other intruder, and not even care what names people decide to attach to my behavior.
