Islamists Target African Christians

Pamela Geller today highlights the atrocities against Christians in Nigeria attributed to the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram.

Boko Haram “has killed hundreds in its campaign to impose Sharia law” since 2010, the BBC reports, describing the latest attacks:

The violence comes on the same day that the Pope – as part of his Christmas Day address – prayed for harmony in Nigeria, lamenting what he called “savage acts of terrorism” that frequently target Christians.
The head of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Yobe, Idi Garba, told AFP that many worshippers at [Evangelical Church of West Africa] “are still missing”.
“I have been informed that six bodies have been recovered,” Mr Garba said.

CNN reports:

At least 12 people died in northern Nigeria when attackers raided two churches during Christmas Eve services, police said.
One assault occurred at the Church of Christ in Nations in Postikum, in Yobe province. Gunmen attacked worshipers during prayer, killing six people, including the pastor, and setting the building on fire.
Worshipers also were attacked at the First Baptist Church in Maiduguri, in Borno state. A deacon and five church members were killed.
They were the latest strikes against Christians in the region. More than 30 people died in a wave of Christmas Day attacks in the north last year, blamed on Boko Haram, a militant group that has targeted Christians and Muslims it considered insufficiently Islamist.

    As I understand it, “Boko Haram” means “Western Eduction is a Sin.” So, no “Western Education.”

    In other news, Timbuktu is being razed because the local Muslims what are in power have decided Sufi saints aren’t Muslim enough for them, so there goes a world heritage site.

    I consider this and remember those picture of bin Laden, back in the day. Russian assault rifle, British camouflage jacket, Rand McNally map of the world, Phillips mic, Sony video camera, etc. Without “Western Education” he’d have been a skinny dying kidney patient dressed in nothing but yak-hair underpants.

    Is it just me, or do you get the feeling that Islam is in retreat and intends to leave scorched earth behind it? In the end, I think the Muslim world will recapitulate “Ozymandias.” As we did with the Soviet Union, we should contain them until they collapse under their own weight.

    Exactly. I see those stickers on a regular basis (I live in the Emory University part of Atlanta), and laugh at the ignorance of those who fail to recognize that the “C” is out to kill all the rest.

    You know, in much of sub-Saharan Africa, there s a distinct French influence. Every time I see the name “Boko Haram”, I think it is really pidgin French for “beaucoup (de) harem(s)” or “I be killin today – gimme the virgins”!

    Liberals have been trying to tear down the church for decades; now they will go after Christians. CNN is just trying to pave the way for the “new normal” in America.

    At some point everyone in the West – governments, media, academia, law enforcement, and the public – needs to acknowledge that the ONLY “moderate muslims” are those authoritarian regimes like Saudi Arabia and the Emirates who suppress their radicals, torture them to discover their pals, and then imprison or kill them.

    Where muslim societies are practicing a more Western-style “democracy,” the radicals are taking over quickly.

    This ends one of two ways: with a radical muslim caliphate encompassing the entire world, or with the radical muslims all dead or in prison.
