Angela Corey Should Be Fired, Disbarred, Imprisoned and Sued Into Bankruptcy

Posted on | July 17, 2013 | 155 Comments

The more I learn about this woman, the more I hate her: She got George Zimmerman charged with murder based on a misleading probable cause claim, rather than getting an indictment from a grand jury. Also, Angela Corey is an evil vindictive bitch:

In 2008, Corey was elected state attorney for Florida’s Fourth Judicial Circuit, taking over from Harry Shorstein — the five-term state attorney who had fired her from his office a year earlier, citing “long-term issues” regarding her supervisory performance.
When Corey came in, she cleaned house. Corey fired half of the office’s investigators, two-fifths of its victim advocates, a quarter of its 35 paralegals, and 48 other support staff — more than one-fifth of the office. Then she sent a letter to Florida’s senators demanding that they oppose Shorstein’s pending nomination as a U.S. attorney. “I told them he should not hold a position of authority in his community again, because of his penchant for using the grand jury for personal vendettas,” she wrote.

Did I mention that Angela Corey is an evil vindictive bitch?

An information technology specialist who say he was fired for exposing information that he said Florida prosecutors attempted to withhold from George Zimmerman‘s defense attorneys will file a lawsuit against his former employers.
Ben Kruidbos was fired after testifying at a June 6 hearing that photos and text messages from Trayvon Martin‘s cell phone were not turned over to the defense, as required by law. Kruidbos’ attorney Wesley White told Reuters news agency that he will be filing a whistleblower lawsuit against the office of Angela Corey and Bernie de la Rionda, who were appointed to prosecute the case against Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain who fatally shot Martin in February 2012.

Read the rest at Viral Read. My goal in life is to see Angela Corey serve a stint in prison — maybe on a corruption charge, but any felony will do — and then in about 2019, she’ll be out on probation, taking orders as a waitress at a Waffle House beside an I-95 off-ramp, and living in a nearby rent-by-the-week efficiency apartment.

She’s an evil vindictive bitch. And I’m a neutral objective journalist.

There’s not much difference between the Republicans and Democrats anyway.

    I have an alternative theory.

I think she fell on her sword for Rick Scott.

Given the media circus and (intentionally whipped up) public furor, there was just no way this thing wasn’t going to be charged and tried.

Scott appointed Corey special prosecutor for the specific purpose of going through the formalities that had to be gone through … and losing the case.

Which she proceeded to do intentionally and with elan.

George Zimmerman is as black as our President, who is descended from slave traders, so show a little respect for your Commander In Chief, Wasp.

If she wanted to throw the case she’d have presented it to a grand jury and let them come back with a no true bill.

Which would have been really embarrassing, since the only way through this thing was to make damn sure it went to trial.

The same place that you linked with your story that was mentioned by Rush (the lastrefuge) has a very detailed list of connections that include the ties to Crist.

Although Correy’s name isn’t in there, you can see why they needed someone like her to do the pushing.

It was always about the settlement money.

  26. ThomasD
    July 18th, 2013 @ 6:48 pm

No. If she wanted a way to wash her hands a GJ is the perfect avenue. She presents the case to them (much like she would in a trial) then ‘lets’ them decide whether to indict.

When they come back without an indictment (NTB) she can turn to the cameras and say she’ tried her best’ but they, the (anonymous) members of the GJ chose otherwise.

The reason she didn’t go to a GJ was because she did not want to chance not being able to go to trial if a GJ recognized the reasonable doubt written all over this case.

She just didn’t bank on competent opposing counsel – she’s used to steamrolling public defenders and run of the mill criminals.

  27. Thomas L. Knapp
    July 18th, 2013 @ 6:51 pm

Yes, a grand jury is a perfect way to wash your hands — if you want the controversy to go on and on and on until you quit fucking around and take the thing to trial.

If you’d rather get it over with, since it is absolutely, positively, no question about it going to have to go to trial to be done with, and if you are willing to endure the barbs of your own ignoramus co-partisans for doing their dirty laundry for them, then you skip the grand jury and go straight to the Big Show.

  28. ThomasD
    July 18th, 2013 @ 7:02 pm

So, having gone to a GJ, gotten a NTB just how are you supposed to get your case to trial?

Try and submit an affidavit of probable cause to a judge? The judge is gonna want to know what new evidence is in the affidavit that wasn’t shown to the GJ. If there isn’t anything new and significant you will never get a judge go along with a trial.

A NTB from a GJ is game over.

  29. Thomas L. Knapp
    July 18th, 2013 @ 7:05 pm

Not in this case, it wouldn’t have been. The affidavit of probable cause that WAS submitted didn’t pass muster, either. The thing was on rails to go to trial, period, end of story. Because until it DID go to trial and get lost, it couldn’t get dumped in Holder’s lap as HIS problem.

  31. ThomasD
    July 18th, 2013 @ 7:56 pm

You are just not getting it.

Once a GJ takes a pass on indicting NO judge is going to let an affidavit, much less a deficient one, fly.

Might as well lynch him on the spot, the appearance would be the same.

  35. Thomas L. Knapp
    July 18th, 2013 @ 9:33 pm

Well, one of us is just not getting it, anyway.

    I’ll try one more time:

    – If the case DIDN’T go to trial in Florida, then it was Rick Scott and the racist Republicans letting Zimmerman get away with murder and Barack Obama and the responsible Democrats taking care of business.

    – If the case DID go to trial in Florida, then it was Rick Scott and the responsible Republicans giving George Zimmerman a fair trial and race-pandering Barack Obama and the Democrats throwing a temper tantrum and threatening double jeopardy with civil rights charges.

Therefore, from the point of view of Rick Scott and the Republicans, the case had to go to trial in Florida. Period. No matter what it took. Even if that included Corey having to take one for the team. Which is exactly what happened.
