Is Your Child’s Public School Teacher Cruising Online for a ‘Sugar Daddy’?

Posted on | August 18, 2013 | 128 Comments

Reading, writing and rent-a-dates:

SeekingArrangement.com, which bills itself as “the #1 online dating website for sugar babies and generous men,” is now boasting that some 40,000 public school teachers of a certain moral caliber have joined the website in an attempt to . . . seek wealthy, older men for “mutually beneficial relationships.” . . .
According to SeekingArrangement, the top five school districts in the country for sugar-baby teachers are (in order): the School District of Philadelphia, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Los Angeles Unified School District, the Clark County School District (in the Las Vegas area) and the New York City public schools.

Why aren’t you home-schooling yet?

Teaching virtue is a better way to put it. With virtue, the morals will follow.

The lack of morals is the primary indicator of a lack of virtue – the virtues that self government requires. The Sugar Babies lack those virtues and so prostitution seems like a really handy way of bringing in some extra cash.

Typical. My wife who has two MAs and a Ph.D. from a good American university was told by our state’s secondary education department, she could not get a teaching certificate without first getting an American bachelor’s degree. (Her BA was in English and Education from a renowned European university.) My conclusion is that education schools exist to keep people out of education as opposed to guaranteeing that highly qualified people get to teach.

I think I’m going to sue these folks, given that they have engaged in discrimination against 50-something male teachers like myself by not having an adequate number of young “sugar mamas” to meet our needs. I’ll be rolling in cash in no time, given what passes as discrimination under the law today.

True story: a college professor of mine had recently retired, and his wife was a substitute teacher at the local high school. She was called in to teach a math class, and he offered to go instead– but he wasn’t allowed to teach at the high school, because he didn’t have the certificate they demanded; even though he had taught college math for 40 years.

Why this is different from what has been going on for centuries: women had no options in the past. They could not have careers or own land. They could not inherit or vote. There were no social safety nets. Sugar daddies were often a matter of survival. The teachers who are doing this today are lazy.

Exactly right! More precisely, to keep smart people out of education who might wreck the gravy train for the CYA, justify your existence, I’m better than you crowd. You know, the ones who can’t handle reality.

Who decides what is moral and what is immoral?

Personally I think it’s immoral to convict an individual when they haven’t committed a crime because of how you disapprove of their off-time.

“For the children” justifies some immoral behavior.

If you can’t show that all teachers molest their students, or that all schools have conspired to hide that from parents, then maybe you shouldn’t make blanket accusations.

    That’s self-control.

  12. rmnixondeceased
    August 18th, 2013 @ 4:05 pm

Which blanket statement? Disprove anything I wrote.

Is it moral to have sex with a 6 year old?

Is it moral to bankrupt a family because their health insurance increased 75%?

Is it moral to kill a criminal in the act of his crime? Is it moral for the state (We the People) to use the death penalty to rid society of murderers, traitors, sex fiends, and others of that ilk?

Just what immoral behavior is acceptable “For the Children” (as you assert above)?

Face it assclown, you are an immoral pedophilia supporter (if not an actual pedophile) bent on changing the laws to allow your immorality. In that way you are an ideologue incapable of independent thought or critical thinking.
So assclown, f*ck off or I shall taunt you again!

I would also point out that the most powerful way to “teach” morality is by example, living a moral, virtuous life.

  14. rmnixondeceased
    August 18th, 2013 @ 4:12 pm

I know of zero moral and virtuous people that would leave a hundred on the nightstand of someone with whom they are in a committed relationship.
Hookup sex and the common low morality of our current society are symptoms of the failure of the public indoctrination system and the permissiveness of parents. Such was the case in Rome during her fall …

  15. NeoWayland
    August 18th, 2013 @ 4:56 pm

But how many of the couples from SeekingArrangement.com have someone leaving a c-note on the nightstand?

On the other hand, there are plenty of “virtuous and moral” people who do exactly that.

If you really want to tout the virtues of a “public indoctrination system” I won’t stop you.

It doesn’t have much to do with freedom or liberty though.

  16. NeoWayland
    August 18th, 2013 @ 5:03 pm

I didn’t say “blanket statement,” I said blanket accusations.

You’ve gone from consenting adults to molesting kids.

More directly, I haven’t said anything about changing the law.

What I have said is what people do in their off time is nobody else’s business. I did throw in some obvious bits: consenting adults, no cheating on significant others, no theft, no fraud.

If this is you taunting, you need some practice.

    Would you like some pointers?

  17. rmnixondeceased
    August 18th, 2013 @ 5:15 pm

Heh. You obviously do not know any “virtuous and moral” people. Or are they moral by your standards? The servants of Satan, both witting and unwitting think thus. The founders intended a moral base for our Liberty and freedoms by acknowledging the truth that all rights are endowed by our Creator, not some government lackey or central committee. If you want no moral restrictions, go to France. Personally, I’d rather see you go to Saudi Arabia. Just for the giggle factor, you understand …

“Virtuous and moral” were your terms, not mine. The first thing that popped into my head when I read that was that old footage of Jimmy Swaggert proclaiming “I have sinned against you…”

Oddly enough, the most moral people I know of don’t have to brag about it.

You’re confusing the Declaration of Independence with the U.S. Constitution. The DOI was intended to show the moral case for revolution, while the Constitution is supposed to be the basis of government.

Neither mentions anything remotely close to a “public indoctrination system.” That pretty much HAS to come from a government lackey or central committee. It still has nothing to do with freedom or liberty.

  25. NeoWayland
    August 18th, 2013 @ 6:01 pm

Of course sexuality and relationships are important. I never said they weren’t.

    Again, I stressed:

    • Consenting adults

    • No cheating on significant others

    • No theft

    • No fraud

Those are pretty good rules no matter how a relationship starts.

The people using the service were just a lot more upfront than most folks these days.

    Perverted.

For many readers of this site, the working definition seems to be “whatever goes against my stated morality when it is convenient.”

This week it’s me. In an earlier decade it might have been Italian or Irish immigrants. Or the music of Elvis Presley. Or the writings of Walt Whitman. Or the notion that all men (and women) are created equal.

Arranged relationships are a huge part of our history. It wasn’t until the attacks on Mormoism in the later part of the 19th century that people were forced to get a document for marriage. Pay for teachers aint all that great in some areas even though some of them are grossly over paid. In many relationships, and some marriages, the man provides the income, and the woman keeps house and provides sex.
I think you have strayed a long ways from the original topic. I would not call some one in a relationship a pervert, prostitue, or any such thing.
Go watch the movie Sarah plain and tall. you might get an idea of what life was like a century and a quarter ago when sugar babies answered ads from men seeking wives.
I’d be more concerned if they were hooking for short term relationships, one night stands if you will. The ideal is one man, one woman for life, but we don;t live in an ideal world. We live in one where girls have babies and have no clue who the father is, and they don’t care. That baby is their meal ticket for 18 years. Thats the sad thing. Thats what we should be concerned about, not teachers who look for rich men to live with in semipermanancy.

One of the main factors in the steep decline of public education [accepting for argument’s sake that it should even exist], is the change in the type of person who teaches in K-8.

Used to be only single women, with no children, were hired for these positions. These women could devote themselves to the children under their care in the classroom and they didn’t expect to get rich, serving the local community being their highes goal. They were also expected to attended religious services.

Small “l” libertarian, well, yep, that’s me. As far as it goes anyway.

Funny though how no one else has pointed out the obvious. If it were any profession besides teaching, there would be no story.

It’s nobody else’s business what someone does in their off time. You wouldn’t stand for it if someone was talking about controlling your behavior “for the children.

That’s today’s quick definition of liberty folks. It’s not a right unless the other guy has it too.

What a stupid assumption – I doubt you can correctly state the definition of “perverted” for even a single reader on this site, much less claim to know how many of them define perversion.
Your own strawman definition of perverted is nothing else than that. I have never seen a reader of this site claim that “perverted” equals “Italian immigrants.” You wouldn’t mind pointing me to your source then?

Where did I say “the Constitution says”? I only specified the founders, not any specific documents, letters, broadsides or declarations. Thus YOU are confused and avoiding the thrust of the comment to state YOUR political views (in which I have no interest whatsoever) and reveal your disdain for morality and virtue, two cornerstones of the underlying foundation of this nation. Read the documents and correspondence of the founders and see the fact that a moral, Christian society was the assumption upon which the entire American experiment in self governance is based.

What you see today is a perversion, a twisted government and society so far from what the founders intended as to be unrecognizable to them should they appear today. The Senators of Rome in her early days and at her acme would not have recognized Rome in the decline and at the time of her fall.

There are too many parallels to ignore the lessons of history.
America has been on the decline since the end of the first world war. Her fall is fast approaching.

I think these women are foolish, and it is a continental slope into prostitution.

In the interviews I’ve followed, the women seem very naive as to their present predicament, and the future of their arrangement.

Do they clue in when they require more that one daddy to support their lifestyles?

NeoWayland, yes they are consenting adults but the creepy factor, is that they are willing to sell their time and bodies (most admit a sexual arrangement), and thus the connection between their need for cash, and the custody of children with whom they don’t have a parental bond.

I have read the documents and correspondence. That’s why I chose the two documents I did to discuss.

    I stacked the deck.

The DOI makes a moral justification and makes an appeal to the Divine.

The Constitution doesn’t mention any god outside the date.

Since these were among the best educated and most enlightened men of their time, this wasn’t an accident.

Long story short, no one wanted to live under the rules of someone else’s church.
