The latest from Fight for Tomorrow captures the raw greasiness of Terry McAuliffe:

While that’s all valid, what was more fascinating twas McAuliffe’s closing argument from the debate Thursday, which was, in essence: “I’m kinda like Mark Warner”. This blog, and all likely Virginia voters, should be in awe of the fact that, given the chance to summarize why he, himself, should be elected, he just cant offer a first reason.

    I just don’t see how Virginia is going to give more than 10 percent of its votes for governor to a Libertarian candidate when no third party has ever gotten over 2 percent in a long time now.

    I don’t think even the low-information voters are voting for McAwful, they’re only voting for that all-important (D) after his name. (And because they’re more than just a little stupid and in spite of knowing McAwful is a sleezebag, magically believe Cuccinelli is “worse” because of that terrible, terrible (R) after his)

    These mouthbreathers would vote for a banana slug if it was the Democrat candidate.

    Quinnipiac has it 46-39-10; Old Dominion has 44-37-7; NBC/Marist has 46-38-9; Christopher Newport U. has 46-39-11; Politico/PPP has 44-35-12. I no longer trust Rasmussen for anything.

    Libertarian candidates often poll far higher than they draw at the ballot box. Their poll support either reverts to their usual party of the majors or just doesn’t bother. The only prior instance of which I am aware of a major office being turned by LP votes was the SD Senate race where Thune lost to Tim Johnson. The LP candidate withdrew and asked his supporters to vote for Thune, but more than Johnson’s margin of victory voted LP anyway.

    Not bad, but any recounting of McAuliffe’s history should include WorldComm, one of the major scandals of business in the last 25 years. Terry walked away with $10 million just before investors and employees lost over $100 million in the fraud.

    This SOB belongs in prison, not the Governor’s Mansion.
