Death Threats After @Bullyville Vows to Put Neal Rauhauser in Prison?

If you don’t know who Bullyville is, it’s a popular Web site and Twitter account (with more than 100,000 followers) that fights against bullying, especially of the online variety. A few months ago, for reasons I still don’t understand, Bullyville became interested in Neal Rauhauser, the disgraced former Democrat campaign consultant, colleague of Brett Kimberlin and general all-around Internet menace.
Sunday, Bullyville published an extensive profile on Rauhauser that called him the “Charles Manson of Twitter” and included this: “You’re not the first bottom-feeding scumbag bully I’ve bullied back, however you will be the first I’m responsible for sending to prison.” That attracted two comments from someone signing themselves as “Long John Silver,” who had murderous things to say:
I am simply amazed that this Bullyville guy, James McGibney, is still alive. If I was listed on his website I would put a bullet in his head. It’s as simple as that. His home address has been posted online. And he makes scheduled public appearances.
After the first comment drew attention, “Long John Silver” added:
Did you know that over 40% of all murders each year go unsolved in the U.S.? Since I use TOR and a random person’s open WiFi, I can’t be tracked you nitwit.
There was much else and you can read the whole thing. Of course, Neal Rauhauser will deny being “Long John Silver,” just as Neal always denies being any one of the numerous sockpuppet accounts (e.g., the “Gaped Crusader”) he has used to threaten, harass and smear various people over the past three years.
Neal Rauhauser’s warped personality is such that he enjoys causing misery for his victims, and he has been getting away with it so long that he evidently thinks he will never been held accountable. The suspicion that Rauhuser is somehow “protected” by the FBI is gaining traction for various reasons and, while I don’t necessarily endorse those suspicions, I can’t discourage such suspicions, so long as Neal Rauhauser continues running around doing his dishonest evil.

You forgot to mention that Neal Rauhauser is a fugitive from justice. There are outstanding warrants for his arrest issued in New Jersey.

Tweaking Rauhauser is a pretty good idea. He seems to be unable to just keep his mouth shut, he has to respond to to it somehow. The more he does, the more chance he will make a mistake.
And they all make mistakes. For instance, if a guy were being kept out of trouble by the FBI while they used him to make cases on others, for example, he could even outweigh his own usefulness by doing something stupid like making a threat. FBI agents know harboring someone who makes threats can sink a career if he ever carries one out, and they care more about their butts than about one informant.
Of course, we don’t know that Rauhauser is an informant. He might well just be a fugitive not important enough to show on federal radar.

No one at the FBI will talk about the Bureau’s relationship with Neal Rauhauser, either as a confidential informant or as a potential target of investigation. Of course, that’s just standard procedure, but when people behold (a) Rauhauser’s endless and wide-ranging campaigns of online harassment, and (b) his frequent boasts of his contacts with the FBI, this naturally leads to (c) suspicion that Neal enjoys some kind of “protected” status with the Bureau. And you could add (d) Rauhauser’s role in driving ex-Anonymous spokesman Barrett Brown over the edge to the list of factors inspiring such suspicion.
What drives me nuts is the fact that except for myself and a few others (all of whom are, by the way, named defendants in Brett Kimberlin’s lawsuits), journalists seem to have no interest in the intriguing story of what I originally dubbed the “Kimberlin-Rauhauser Axis,” or to use the term John Hoge has made more popular, “Team Kimberlin.” One way or another, this is a REAL NEWS STORY, and you would think someone at the Washington Post or the New York Times would show an interest in it. But … crickets.

Folks who funded BK also attend cocktail parties with most newsies’ bosses. BK provides a valuable service that is supportive of the goals of his financiers/MSM owners.
Long John Silver must have been hoping a non-IT person was reading his comments.
