Transgender Feminist @papierhache Volunteers for Twitter Victimhood

When the going gets weird, my Twitter timeline gets interesting. It is perhaps unnecessary to remind readers of these recent items:

To summarize briefly, radical lesbian feminists reject the claims of “trans women” to inclusion, and this rejection is denounced by “trans women” as hate. This bizarre controversy is occurring on the extreme fringe of the culture wars, which doesn’t mean that the conflict isn’t taken seriously by the participants. At a radical progressive conference last May in Portland, Oregon, transgender activists attacked two women “in a coordinated assault as they sat at a table which sold feminist books and literature.” Obviously, I have no (heteronormative patriarchal) dog in this fight, but as the first conservative to pay much attention to this intramural left-wing scrimmage, I felt it might be helpful to translate terms into the vernacular:

You’ll notice here that I used the colloquial synonym “shemale” because the word “transphobic” was already in the headline, and the vivid slang term is also an eye-catcher. It’s click-bait. The object of a headline is to get the reader’s attention, which is why the New York Post often uses words “thug” or “perv” in headlines of stories about perpetrators of violence or sexual deviance. At any rate, a certain troll decided that I should be exposed as a hatemonger:

The person who got trolled up then decided to hector me at some length, as if I’ve got nothing else to worry about except being sensitive to the feelings of the transgender community.

OK, if East Tennessee’s Most Famous Transgender Feminist™  wants widespread attention, how about this fascinating “When Did You Know You Were Trans” video, huh?

I knew when I would play with the other girls, when I had a desire to be like them, a feeling that I should be like them, a feeling that I should not be like this — and them telling me that that feeling was wrong.
I knew that night they made fun of me in the parking lot of the mall when we were walking back to the car. They made fun of me for being “effeminate”. I knew when they used to punish me for crying and call me a pussy and tell me to “man up”. . . .
I knew when I would go to school only to be called a “faggot” by the boys they forced me to be around when, try as I might, I couldn’t fit in with them or feel comfortable around them. I knew when those boys told me to cut my hair and tried to hit me and called me a girl like it was an insult. The boys that they said were like me, that they wanted me to be like, the boys that I didn’t want to be.
I knew when they would toss around transphobic slurs like it was nothing. I knew when they called them “shemales” and “trannies” and “it” and no one batted an eye — but I did. . . .
I knew when my dysphoria got worse and despite all that I wasn’t sure that what I was feeling was legitimate because I didn’t want to be a 1950?s housewife, that I didn’t know if my sexual attraction to men was legitimate because I didn’t want to have sex with anyone as a man and I had never been with a man, that maybe I was just an “autogynephile” because the thought of having sex as a woman (god forbid!) turned me on. . . .

You can read the whole weird thing, and sympathize or not, but the point is that you have a right to think what you want, no matter how much the Eternally Victimized insist they are entitled to your sympathy.

You can never pity the Eternally Victimized as much as they pity themselves, but failing to RSVP an invitation to their pity party? That’s hate! How dare you withhold your approval!

As to the controversy between radical feminists and “trans women,” permit me to predict that the radical feminists will ultimately lose that battle, which is not to say they should lose. The experience and goals of radical feminists — i.e., man-hating Marxist lesbians — are different from and essentially at odds with the experience and goals of transgenders. On the one hand, radical feminists deserve credit for being honest about what they want and why they want it, but on the other hand, @papierhache is ultimately less dangerous, if only because the whole ridiculous Helpless Tranny Victim trip is so pathetic.

Inadequacy doesn’t really rate as a militant cause.

What a fucking pity party. “I’m different! Don’t hurt my feelings!”

The whole thing. I don’t understand the victimhood derby as I’m out of it.

Does it really make you and that shitbird Kincannon (who sooner or later is going to get caught sucking off a TS in the front seat of his car) feel any better to basically bully someone for being transgendered? Don’t these people have enough shit to put up with without being fucked with by a couple of neo-nazis?

Shit McCain, this is my town.

Kat can be whatever (s)he wants to be. But if (s)he wants to be a girl, that is to say, (s)he wants guys – real genetic xy, cis-heteronormative, penisborn, penis people – to be attracted towards h(er)m, (s)he might want to not talk, in diction, lexicon, emphasis, tone and timbre, like a man.

Are you paying attention? Kat showed up in my TL — I’ve shown just some of her tweets at me — calling me a hater for having used the common slang “shemale.” As I have explained above, I only used it for headline purposes: “Lesbians who won’t date transwomen are transphobic” would have been not only redundant, but practically a tautology. Whoever or whatever Kat is, she doesn’t have the right to pull that moral superiority act on me. How, then, does it follow that I’m the “bully” here?

If these people have the ability to devote so much of their time and energy in this crap, then that is an indication they are simply too affluent. There are a lot of people in this world wondering where their next meal is coming from and aren’t wasting hours on end on the various nuances of “trans” anything except maybe trans-starvation. The simple fact that this crap even exists makes it a mockery of itself.

Kat doesn’t seem hateful or mean, and therefore I advise to just leave Kat alone. Live and let live. Making this person feel ridiculed or reviled with this issue would not seem to accomplish anything good.

I watched that video and what struck me, besides his male voice, was the melodramatic victimhood revolving around incidents that many of us went through in one form or another. I have yet to meet anyone who felt like they “fit in” during adolescence.

Good grief, the blatant child abuse of telling your 5 year old son that he has “boy parts.” Oh, the humanity!

Excellent point. Many people have unpleasant experiences in childhood and adolescence, yet manage to avoid the Victim of Society trap.

As an aside, why are liberals always so fanatical about Darwinism, and yet can’t come to grips with the idea that some people are just doomed to lose out in the survival-of-the-fittest competition?

“permit me to predict that the radical feminists will ultimately lose that battle,”

Of course they will lose. They have to. Their own ground rules are being used against them. It’s either give in and say “Fine, have a seat” or scrap the whole edifice and start over, and they’ve invested too much (like, their entire lives) to do that.

Be nice if these people would figure out that their feelings don’t even register on the Give-a-shit Meter for anyone outside their own circle and get over themselves. I an not responsible for their unhappiness and I reject the charge that I am.

  40. robertstacymccain
    January 15th, 2014 @ 11:43 pm

No, that’s the whole point: Haters can never be victims, nor do we get to decide who is truly deserving of sympathy. Our scripted role in the melodrama is as villains, and our duty is to play the role with authentic zeal.

The decisive battle was over porn, in the 1970s and ’80s. Radical feminists lost out to the so-called “sex positive feminists” who, as it turned out, were subsidized by the porn industry.

The separatist anti-hetero anti-male rhetoric of radical feminism appeals to a lot of the disgruntled Women’s Studies types, but they’re never going to win a battle against the Official Gay Movement, which is totally down for the “transgender inclusion” agenda. The only way radical feminists can “win” this anti-trans battle is by further marginalizing themselves, and so therefore they will ultimately lose, no matter what.
