Hateful @SarahKSilverman Mocks Christianity in Pro-Abortion Video

Posted on | January 26, 2014 | 73 Comments

The Daily Caller’s Caroline May caught this on Friday: In a 5-minute video for “Lady Parts Justice” — the pro-abortion group she formed last year with Daily Show producer Lizz Winstead — Sarah Silverman pretends that she was visited by Jesus Christ, who told her to spread a pro-abortion message. Also, Jesus gives Silverman an orgasm:

This kind of pro-abortion fanaticism is always difficult for me to comprehend. It’s hard to imagine anyone could have such a bloodthirsty enthusiasm for killing babies, but it is especially hard to believe women could harbor this kind of monomaniacal death fetish.

Aleister points out that Siliverman’s choice of religions to mock doesn’t include Islam or Scientology:

If Sarah Silverman had any guts she’d take on Hollywood’s only approved faith, the so-called Church of Scientology which is nothing more than a Ponzi scheme disguised as a UFO religion. Do you know why she doesn’t do that? Because like everyone else in Hollywood, Sarah Silverman is always looking for her next job and she doesn’t want to offend anyone who might offer her a part in their next movie, TV show or commercial.
You never know when Tom Cruise or John Travolta might call, right Sarah?

Actually, she has done jokes about Scientology in her stand-up routine, but her career is rapidly going downhill anyway. She was popular for a few years when she was young and dating Jimmy Kimmel, but now she’s in her 40s and resorting to this: Political videos on YouTube, hoping to land an appearance on MSNBC maybe. In a few years, she’ll be like Joan Rivers, doing jokes about facelifts and menopause.

I wonder if all these people who use Christian imagery in sacrilegious ads and such pay Andres Serrano royalties. As for the message, one wonders what happened to these types of people to make them so twisted and completely devoid of any moral sense whatsoever.

It’s not difficult at all to comprehend that. Despite the Bill Clinton rhetorical formulation that abortion should be safe, legal and rare, some of the pro-choicers realize that if abortion were truly to become rare, it would cease to be affordable for most women, and that to be pro-choice necessarily means being pro-abortion: they must want a significant number of abortions to occur for abortion to continue to remain available.

More, abortion needs to be common so that those who have abortions aren’t somehow stigmatized, since so many women do it.

What drives me crazy about chattering on and on with these people and having to put up with junk like this – how liberal atheists are so positive that Jesus would be on their side – is that it’s all talk meant to obfuscate.

Just LOOK at an aborted baby. Stop talking, stop coming up with new euphemisms for it, stop showing me how legal abortion fits in with your worldview, stop showing me charts and stats. JUST LOOK.

But no. Actually showing a picture of what occurs is “a scare tactic meant to take away women’s rights.”

Reality. It’s hell when it gets in the way.

I can’t understand why “conservative/small government” types want BIG GOVERNMENT when it comes to enforcing their religious superstition. Other than lining the pockets of anti-abortion groups, what purpose does the “anti-abortion lite” laws like “transvaginal ultrasound”, 24 hour waiting periods, etc. have? There is ONE WAY to “outlaw” abortion. Pass a constitutional amendment and turn the matter over to the states. So where is this amendment? NO WHERE! So why don’t you get Rush or Hannity or some other “big name” to propose a constitutional amendment. If the big government anti-abortion forces are such a majority now, it should be easy. So get on with it.

Evil is like meth. One hit and your hooked. If you’re good, you spend the rest of your life fighting the temptations within your self. Other folks jump into the meth life. They may just stay in a role as drug-taker/enabler-of-evil. Others get into selling the drug, and few get into cooking – and that’s where Sarah Silverman is: she is manufacturing evil for its own sake. A year or so ago, she publicized her own abortion, which she said she’d had done just to have done it. Anton LaVey. Hugh Hefner, Mikey Weinstein, and Sarah Silverman: what a krewe. People never stumble into Hell, they dive in.
Killing babies is an age old, time honored tradition of identifying one’s self and one’s culture as evil. No infanticidal culture has ever survived.

My only quibble with your comment is that they really don’t believe Jesus is on their side. At best, they see Him as an historical figure with a philosophy which, while good in parts, was way too “judgmental” when taken as a whole. Their invocation of Christ in their work is designed solely to offend Christians. It’s not sophisticated; it’s infantile and demonstrates no depth of philosophical thought or knowledge whatsoever. Bertrand Russell would wince at its imbecility.

  23. Stogie
    January 26th, 2014 @ 11:29 am

Opposing the destruction of human life isn’t based on “religious superstition,” but a universal standard that murder is morally wrong. Leftists seem to be devoid of any sense of morality or right and wrong. Indeed, they wallow in evil as if it were an honor rather than something despicable.

  24. RS
    January 26th, 2014 @ 11:30 am

Abortion is not merely a religious issue. If you value human life, as our foundational documents obviously do, then abortion is a moral question. And as secularists are found of telling us, morality, i.e. the question of how we should then live, is not tied to religious belief at all.

I don’t understand it either. I am convinced that liberalism is a form of self-hatred, so intense that they have a strong death wish for themselves and for their fellow citizens, for their own country, traditions and culture. Liberalism truly is a mental illness.

I shall answer your question with another. Are the laws prohibiting murder an example of “big government?” Your denomination of abortion restrictions as “big government” is absurd on its face.

As for the balance of your comment, the purpose of laws passed within the current framework established by Roe v. Wade provide those seeking an abortion to understand precisely what they are doing. That is destroying human life. Given that under the current state of affairs, absolute prohibition is not possible, the next best alternative is persuasion, which these laws attempt to accomplish.

Finally, many of us are indeed working within the political system to pursue all avenues available to protect human life, including constitutional ones. A movement to have a convention for proposing amendments is gaining steam. Check out Mark Levin’s latest book.

  30. FiftycalTX
    January 26th, 2014 @ 12:39 pm

“murder” is defined as killing a “person”. A fetus is a “potential” person depending on the stage of development. So equating “murder” with “abortion” is sophistry.
As to “big government”, how do you propose to enforce your anti-abortion nirvana? With the Soviet style, where a suitable agent of the state is placed in EVERY doctors office to “oversee” that no abortions are conducted? Or do you prefer the Chinese method, where every woman of child bearing ability has to “prove” her status every 30 days to someone the equivalent of a motor vehicle clerk?

And Roe v Wade only demanded UNRESTRICTED access to abortion rights in the first 2 trimesters. THAT is why the chicken shit roadblocks that have gone to SCOTUS have all been overturned.

Now ignore every point I’ve made and go back to patting yourself on the back because your “cause” is so much more “moral”.

What the hell else is a foetus going to become, Texy? Is a foetus in a women’s womb going to turn out to be a cocker spaniel, or a porpoise, or even just more horse’s asses like your mama managed?
A foetus can become nothing but a mature human being. Therefore a foetus is human to start with.

  33. RS
    January 26th, 2014 @ 1:02 pm

Actually, the sophistry is attempting to draw a line between “human” and “not human” with no rational philosophical basis whatsoever, solely to allow its destruction predicated upon what’s personally expedient at the moment. Attempting to draw that line has always been the predicate to taking human life. The examples are legion.

As for enforcement of laws protecting human life, if doctors lost their licenses to practice medicine, abortion, it would eliminate the vast, vast majority of those willing to do it. Would it eliminate it entirely? Probably not. But that’s not an excuse for society refusing to protect human life.

  35. DaveO

Return the decision to have abortion to the state level – which conservatives are doing – at the state level. If the people of the state want to have abortion, then they have a say in it.
Roe v. Wade was argued on the basis to a right to privacy, which Obamacare eliminates. SCOTUS Justice Ginsberg has spoken about how Roe was a case of using subterfuge (deception) to gain a specific outcome. A ‘right’ gained by lying is not a right, because rights are self-evident and self-evidently true and need not require a lie. So I’m not ignoring what you wrote, you’re just incorrect in the matter of facts and substance. If you can, go back the arguments made at the time.
That which was guaranteed by Roe v. Wade no longer enjoys legal protection. Obamacare eliminated the right to privacy, including medical privacy. So Roe v. Wade and HIPAA are no longer operative. Because of that, now is the time for states to ask their question of their citizens on whether they want abortion, and to what degree.
Today, given the Gosnell horrors, and the case in Baltimore as well as other vectors, abortion is not safe. Never has been. Even abortions in the case of ectopic pregnancies carry risk.
In terms of science, by 1973, no scientist questioned when life began – it began at conception when the impregnated egg split into 2 cells, then 4, then more. Since 1973, politicians and activists have made the argument that life begins at viability, the earliest state in development in which a child can live. With greater and still greater improvements in medical technology, viability in now as early as 5 months. When you watch videos of abortions, you will witness human, living reactions made by the baby trying to avoid and defend it’s self from the needle and vacuum.
Pro-abortion is built on a lie, and built on a legal lie: that women have a right to privacy. As with every lie, another has to be created in order to justify the original and subsequent lies. Nothing good, safe, or sane comes from lies, and people who espouse the lie know that they lie and become jerks. Just admit it: you want to kill humans, but you lack the testicular fortitude to take on an adult.

  36. FiftycalTX
    January 26th, 2014 @ 1:17 pm

I have no reason to “want to kill humans” and can defend against the kind that have 2 legs and are upright and posing a threat to me. I just don’t see where it is anybody else’s BUSINESS what someone else does with their body and BUSYBODIES should stick to worrying about themselves and not whether some FOUR CELLED “human” is flushed out of some other female with the morning after pill.

Oh, and let me guess, all the anti-abortion types on this thread are MALE, right. Well sparkies, here’s a hint. YOU CAN”T GET PREGNANT!

  37. Stogie Chomper
    January 26th, 2014 @ 1:18 pm

There is no question that being anti-abortion is moral whereas being pro-abortion is not. And abortion is indeed murder, as a fetus more often than not has a beating heart, measurable brain waves and ten fingers and toes when it is aborted. Your attempt to deny the humanity of these fetuses is what is “pure sophistry.”

Silverman is much likelier to go the way of Janeane Garofolo. From once appealing and funny comedienne and actress to increasingly shrill, charmless and intellectually shallow political commentator.

I think the radical strident pro-abortion position comes from the heart of a deeply conflicted woman who has undergone at least one abortion and simply cannot admit that she deeply regrets her decision and doubles down again and again on her support for not only the right to make that the decision, but the decision itself.

I strongly suspect that not even Jesus could bring Sara off, unless he brought with him a bottle of tequila, a couple of Quaaludes and a jackhammer.

Now that we’ve made short shrift of Sara’s career, her sexuality and her motivations, let’s talk about her decision to use and abuse Jesus. Anyone up for a discussion of Jewish bigotry against Christianity?
