The Pervert Rights Movement

Posted on | February 2, 2014 | 87 Comments

In the 21st century, the rights of decent law-abiding citizens must always yield to the rights of freaks and weirdos.

That’s the lesson in the Chicago suburb of Orland Park, Illinois, where the local public library considers it their duty to provide perverts access to Internet pornography at taxpayer expense. There have been reports of degenerates masturbating in the library and using the library’s computers to access child pornography.

You might think that Orland Park is committed to the First Amendment, but when it comes to the right of citizens to peaceably assemble and petition their government for a redress of grievances? Eh, not so much. Orland Park mom Megan Fox explains:

The most recent board meeting at the Orland Park Public Library was an illustration of tyrannical government in action. . . .
The public embarrassment and citizen outcry has not made one iota of difference to the hardcore leftists on the board. Their commitment to porn and the American Library Association’s insistence that [pornography] is protected in a public space (even when paid for by unwilling taxpayers) is unwavering.
I have spoken at five board meetings along with other members of the community. Each time the topic was the same. “Put filters on the computers.” . . . But at the last meeting . . . the board decided they had heard enough about the porn problem at their library. They arbitrarily decided we are no longer able to speak about anything relating to “computers” or “sexual misconduct” in their library. Keep in mind, these are the “free speech” people. . . .

(No, they’re free porn people.)

They bluster that those of us who don’t want porn in public libraries are trying to censor adults from hardcore porn or “information” in their words, but they have no problem actually stopping citizens and taxpayers from speaking to them!

Read the whole thing at PJ Media. Orland Park’s idiotic policy has nothing to do with the First Amendment. Nobody is threatening the right of porn producers to “publish” their material, nor is any individual’s right to view such products at risk. Freaks can buy their own computers — hey, Amazon sells lots of computers for under $400 — and surf the ‘Net in the privacy of their own homes public housing homeless shelters basement rape dungeons.

The question is whether taxpayers are obligated to provide free access to such material in a public space.

No sane person would answer that question “yes,” but no sane person is a member of the Orland Park Library Board, which evidently has been captured by the Pervert Rights Movement.

I guess I’m not awake enough yet to be able to even absorb this kind of leftist depravity… I go into an ‘auto denial’ mode with stories like this at times & I know I shouldn’t, since there’s shocking stories pretty much on a daily basis as of late. As someone who has had experience with the porn biz, I never saw any valid objection to these sorts of complaints. Of course you want it kept away from schools and churches; of course there is no valid reason taxpayers should be supporting it in libraries. People who insist on crap like that have an agenda other than promoting porn.

This kind of segues into the latest attempt by Dianne Sawyer to make everyone think that we’re in the middle of some sort of epidemic of accidental shootings involving children and “found” guns.

Wait, how does this tie in?

See, the left will scream like hell if anyone is shot for any reason (doesn’t matter if it’s to save a life). But they are defending this kind of crap (the pr0n in the public libraries), and every form of sexual infidelity possible, so that sexually-transmitted diseases are still killing people and ruining lives at rates that make gun violence seem like it struggles to keep up.

It’s not death and violence they object to. It’s your liberty they want to erase.

“If you don’t like, then don’t watch it.” The problem, of course, is that when it’s in public the only option is to isolate yourself and your children from society. Do that, however, and the same people who said the above will then declare you to be a Christian nutjob.

Believe me, I also was shocked at his cavalier attitude. He’s a libertarian which is most of the problem. The reason I will never be a libertarian is because it’s full of too many people like Martin who have let go of common sense in the name of freedom (or more accurately anarchy.) He has the absolute wrong idea of course. Here we have government forcing porn on the public and the public (free people) asking them to stop. We should win! And he should be on our side! Why he isn’t is a mystery and also disturbing.

This is very interesting. I wish more people would see the point of these measures. In the Village of Orland Park, they have ordinances against adult themed businesses. There are no adult book stores, no strip clubs, no peep shows, no taverns…but the public library? It’s a free-for-all in spite of community standards.

What a lot of people are missing here is that it’s more than just people looking at porn on computers. What’s happening is that these guys are masturbating in the library, looking at child porn, and often harassing women or leering at them while they are looking at the porn. Porn is a sexual stimulant. It is not the same as using a computer to read about roses or the history of the Super Bowl. Porn causes men to get sexually excited and either want to masturbate or have sex…and the Orland Park Public Library is letting guys do this even though there is a law on the books (Ordinance 8-6-1-1 in the Village) that makes looking at porn in the library the crime of disorderly conduct. Not only doesn’t the library call the cops, but it actively deletes the computers’ history every night so that the police can’t ever investigate who was looking at the child porn that’s being accessed (and it is being accessed, since there are incident and police reports that show that this is happening).

I cannot speak to the library in question, but I’m personally aware of similar situations. One of the problems which public libraries face is the constant threat from Progressive organizations to file lawsuits regarding access to pornography in public libraries if the library maintains a public internet connection. That is, this is different that attempting to force the library to buy paper porn for its shelves.

Public libraries are faced with the choice of either eliminating internet access completely or paying huge amounts of legal fees (both their own and the plaintiff’s if they lose) which their budgets cannot support. The library I’m familiar with chose the former option, i.e. elimination of internet.

The bottom line is that this is lawfare at its worst. Combine that with appointed Progressive judges whose desire is to radically change Society’s mores and you have the situation as it now exists. This is yet another battle being fought to drag down and destroy all that’s decent in our society.

The library board is partially elected and partially appointed. This is because the board members are elected to 6 year terms, but most of them decide after a few years to quit. When a board member leaves, then the remaining board members appoint that person’s replacement. The terms are just too long at 6 years. It should really be a four year term, but it’s setup for 6 and it’s rare for someone to not resign before the 6 years is up. That just happened this month because one board member (whose term was up in 2015) resigned and her replacement was picked by the other board members. Know who they selected? A woman who used to work at Roosevelt University, so it’s likely she will be a pro-porn board member since academics are pro-porn.

I saw what that Charlie Martin guy wrote on Megan’s articles and I was kind of horrified. A man should never be writing about people being allowed to look at porn in front of children or being cavalier about child porn being accessed. That’s just wrong. Whenever a guy says things like this, that he thinks it’s okay for kids to see porn in a library, it gives me the creeps. I don’t know Charlie but if anyone does they should tell him the optics of him being pro-porn in front of kids is just not good for his reputation. It makes him look so creepy.

  23. Drago Harley

Actually, the police in Orland Park did an official investigation and found 22 instances in recent years where either child porn was accessed, where guys were masturbating in the library, or where guys who had been looking at porn and got excited then approached little girls or women and scared the heck out of them. I think one instance of child porn is enough to be very concerned here. Sorry Homer, but saying “hardly ever happens” regarding child porn being accessed in a taxpayer funded building is not okay with me. It’s happening There are police reports that confirm it. And it needs to stop.

  25. Drago Harley
    February 2nd, 2014 @ 12:30 pm

Actually, no library has ever been sued for not allowing porn. Let me repeat that: no library has ever been sued, EVER, for not allowing porn. The Supreme Court ruled in 2003 in US vs. ALA that there is no constitutional right to access porn in a library. So, porn can be blocked. The American Library Association (ALA) is a radical leftist group funded by George Soros. It wants porn in the libraries because sexualizing children is a big goal of the Left. Putting the porn in front of the kids destroys their childhoods, alienates them from their parents, forces them to start experimenting sexually at a young age, and that leads to the teen pregnancies and the abortions that the Left loves so much. The goal, I think, is to create permanent Democrat voters by doing this…since I think the Left believes that someone who has an abortion at a young age will be a permanent Democrat voter. So, they want to sexualize the kids early to up the odds of an abortion in the kids future…to create that permanent Democrat majority that James Carville has promised.

Child porn is hardly ever accessed (that was caught) and so we should just shut up and go away because those exploited children aren’t exploited if they are hardly ever exploited on a public computer right? 31. M. Fox

Right on 100%. That is the goal. And I need to repeat NO LIBRARY HAS EVER BEEN SUED FOR BLOCKING PORN. They have been sued for blocking non-pornographic sites on accident. However, the Supreme Court in the above referenced case said that as long as there is an option to lift a filter for a patron who wants to access something non-pornographic, then it’s perfectly acceptable to have filters.

  32. Drago Harley
    February 2nd, 2014 @ 12:48 pm

What the American Library Association never talks about though, is the fact that libraries can get sued by their own employees if they allow porn to be displayed. That’s a violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits sexually hostile work environments. Libraries have been telling employees for years that they just have to suck it up and tolerate the porn, and employees are so afraid of losing their jobs that they go along with this. However, one day the dam will break. Some library will have to pay out millions in damages to female employees for being sexually harassed in that environment and then this porn issue will be solved. But it’s going to take a big EEOC lawsuit for that to happen. Give it five years.

I dropped my ALA membership years ago, because they spent so much time pushing LGBT causes which had NOTHING to do with the job of librarian or the role of libraries.

I had to reup recently as part of my job search, but odds are, I’ll just pay the non-member surcharge to attend the occasional meeting in future.

Librarians are notoriously liberal/progressive in political/social leaning overall, even the non-public librarians. I spent the last 13 years as a medical librarian, and at our state groups meeting, the then chair was talking, and stopped himself before some anecdote and said, “I suppose I should find out if there are any conservatives in the room first”. I raised my hand, and there was a sort of shocked silence, and I spent the next few minutes enjoying the feeling of the spectre at the feast. I’m really not that much of a rara avis, but we tend to keep quiet because the profession is by and large *very* left leaning, as are most of the female, “helping” type professions.

When did this change occur? When did the ‘Donna Reed in It’s A Wonderful Life” kind of librarian become such a radical agent of the Left? Did this happen in the 1990s or the 2000s? My dear fellow McCainanites –

The precious little snowflakes that serve on this board will change their tunes once their friends, neighbors, congregants, and countrymen have been exposed to the depravity these miscreants are foisting upon the innocent.

Since obscenity is based on a “community standard” and evidently Orlando Park law enforcement does not believe that publicly visible pornography of this nature violates their statutes. Here is the solution.

Merely trot down to your local library, save some of the images that are frequently viewed and create OVERSIZED photographic images (36″ x 60″), mount them on construction foam board, and stand vigil outside their neighborhood entrances, churches, places of business, country clubs, etc. with signs branding the board members name to the offending images.

Create a flyer with some of the same images showing the board votes on this issue and distribute them throughout their neighborhoods so ALL of their neighbors can SEE first hand (no pun intended) the callous disregard these sorry excuses for public servants have towards our children, and the health safety and welfare of the library system.

However, this will mean that some of you will have to get up off your high fructose corn syrup filled ass and actually do something to create social change rather than merely hiding behind a moniker on a computer and griping about the sad state of affairs of our once great nation.

Or perhaps you could just do what most citizens did in Nazi Germany, and merely sing a little louder to drown out the sounds of the trains carrying Jews to their deaths.

After game sites, porn sites have the most malware. So an adult can view her or his porn, malware is downloaded, and then a child uses the computer, enters her or his information and goes to Facebook or another site, and becomes a target for any number of schemes.
It’s better than shoulder-surfing, better than black box hacking. And the Library Board members of Orland Park permit the library’s users to be victimized in the name of post-modernist sophistication.

Well, something that should be said about all this is that the churches in Orland Park have been useless. Totally useless. Megan reached out to them all, and they all said that they were upset with what the library was doing…but none of the churches did anything to help Megan. They couldn’t even send members to speak at the meetings. Churches have become social clubs, where people go once a week to see and be seen so that people will say they are good people. But the churches don’t want to be involved in anything. The pastors can’t get the church members to leave their houses or do anything. All they want to do is sit at church and bemoan the state of the world, but they are too meek to do anything about it. I call them little cheese-nibbling mice. This is what churchgoers have become, sadly.

I’m afraid I can’t recommend this approach. It’s sort of like the old “don’t wrestle with pigs” aphorism: you’ll just get dirty, and the pervs will LIKE it.

That said, if you decide to do something with those pictures (like give copies to the board members’ mothers and grandmothers), be sure to use pictures that you recovered from the browser caches on library computers, and label them as such, to explain to grandma that this is what her son insists library patrons be permitted to watch on the taxpayers’ dime.

Note: do NOT mail such things through the mail in ANY form, unless you like wearing an orange uniform and making license plates.
