No, we haven’t reached that point of the “Emerging Awareness” — yet.

It is impossible, however, to ignore the radical feminist trajectory:

An upcoming LGBTQ seminar at the University of South Carolina Upstate (USCU) will teach students How to Be a Lesbian in 10 Days or Less and will focus on LGBTQ cultural mores.
According to the school’s website, theater artist Leigh Hendrix will perform her one-woman show, “How to Be a Lesbian in 10 Days or Less,” to kick off the sixth Bodies of Knowledge Symposium and Conference. . . .
Hendrix encourages her audience to shout “I’m a big ‘ol dyke!” in a show that is “one part instructional seminar, one part personal story, and one party wacky performance art.”
The symposium is funded by outside grants as well as university funds according to Dr. Lisa Johnson, the Director of the Center for Women’s & Gender Studies at USCU.
Dr. Johnson declined to discuss what percentage of the funding was coming from the university. . . .

As easy as it is to treat feminism as a joke — to laugh when a radical feminist says “PIV is always rape, OK?” or declares that “no woman is heterosexual” — the fact is that these fanatics take their insane ideas very seriously. Ideas Have Consequences, as Richard Weaver long ago warned us, and what are the logical consequences of the anti-male, anti-heterosexual ideas promoted by intellectuals in Women’s Studies departments on every university campus?

Between peer pressure not to be a “homophobe” and feminist rhetoric that celebrates women’s sexual aggression as “empowerment,” what would be the fate of any college girl who rejects the overtures of a lesbian admirer? All the “rape culture” chatter — “No means no!” — is aimed at demonizing men. Would campus feminists defend your daughter if she complained of being harassed by an obsessed lesbian stalker? Or would they condemn your daughter as a homophobic “hater”?

Remember that when Florida sex offender Kaitlyn Hunt was charged with molesting a 14-year-0ld girl, Hunt’s defenders blamed the victim’s parents as “bigots” and “religious zealots,” while the ACLU criticized law enforcement for “prosecuting Kaitlyn for engaging in behavior that is both fairly innocuous and extremely common.”

If dildo sex with 14-year-olds is “innocuous,” who could blame a lesbian for aggressively pursuing your college daughter?

No one seems to connect the dots between militant lesbianism promoted by university Women’s Studies departments and the crimes of lesbian predators who aren’t willing to wait until girls are old enough for college:

Texas teacher Amanda Feenstra pleaded guilty last week to having sex with a 17-year-old girl.
Kelly O’Rourke, 42, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in October 2013 for having sex with a 16-year-old girl.
Andrea Michelle Cardosa, 40, was charged with 16 felony counts in February after two former female students accused her of sexually molesting them. One accuser said Cardosa started having sex with her when she was only 12.
Nicole Wooten was arrested in February 2013 on charges that she had sex with a girl in 2005 and 2006, when the victim was a 12-year-old eighth-grader.
New Jersey swimming coach Sarah Blessing pleaded guilty in 2010 to having sex with a 17-year-old Catholic school girl.
Linda Wallace was sentenced to prison in September after pleading guilty to having had a four-year sexual affair with a female student that began when the girl was 13.
Kelly Ann Garcia, 29, was arrested last June after police say she had sex with a 16-year-old girl.
Tonya Drueppel was arrested in January on charges that she had sex with a middle-school girl beginning in October 2012, when the victim was 13.
Florida high school basketball coach Jaymee Wallace was sentenced to three years in prison in 2007 for having a lesbian affair with a girl that began when the victim was 14.

Where do lesbian predators get the idea that sex with young girls is acceptable? From the same feminists who say it is “homophobic” to criticize “How to Be a Lesbian in 10 Days of Less.”

One of the more insidious things about this stuff, especially on college campuses, is that the purveyors see themselves as heroes in the service of a mythos they have themselves created. That is, they create the myth of the all powerful Patriarchy, which, as part of its oppression as socialized women to believe that biology is lie, and thus, the only means to fight it is to embrace lesbianism. Is there any doubt that they view what otherwise would be considered garden variety sexual harassment as a noble calling?

Let’s face it. At best, the middle aged male college prof trying to seduce a coed over drinks and bon mots would be viewed as a loser. At worst, he loses his reputation and job. Don’t hold your breath for something similar happening with “Womyn’s Studies” faculty anytime soon. No doubt, the Sapphists will deploy all they learned about “blaming the victim” from the Patriarchy in service of their own attempts to get their groove on.

People who fail to understand this are guilty of insufficient cynicism. Forgive me for my profound suspicion of all crusading idealists, but whenever I see someone posturing heroically on behalf of a “cause,” my street-smart gut instinct is to wonder, “What’s his angle? What’s in it for him?”

Well, OK, suppose you were a lesbian professor unsatisfied with the quantity and quality of your romantic options. So then you start demonizing all men as rapists and oppressors, meanwhile condemning homophobia and praising the courage of students who “come out” as gay. Is it so completely unfair to suspect that you’re doing all this to increase your sexual access to younger and more attractive lesbian partners?

It’s like Hugh Hefner praising the Sexual Revolution — his praise obviously had an entirely selfish purpose.

It goes without saying that modern American academic environment is partially if not wholly responsible for this sort of thing, as well as the popularity of “Porn Studies,” in Adobe_Walls link above. No longer can one advance in Academe without generating “original research.” What better way to do that than to create an entire course of study on some inane topic, dress it up with postmodern jargon and obfuscation, and then peddle it to a captive audience of freshmen, via the dreaded diversity studies requirement? It’s like somebody in Art History making the big time pontificating about Dogs Playing Poker.

Taken together, don’t these two quotes pretty well wipe out the myth of the “moderate feminist”?

The simple fact is that every woman must be willing to be identified as a lesbian to be fully feminist.

Also makes the problem rather self-limiting among normal people. After all, the words “lesbian sex” actually mean something with a major “ick” factor to straight women, pron fantasies to the contrary notwithstanding.

What you and RS write is true, Stacy, but there is another major factor that plays a huge role in all of this: these women are mentally ill and are making-up justifications for their illnesses. They are trying to convince themselves and as many people as possible that they are, in fact, sane, when it is quite clear they are not.

In Academia they find willing enablers, many of whom are as mentally ill as they are.

I think they’re on to something here!

By promoting sex all over the place, that means that men are having more and more sex, and that’s just more and more of that PIV rape. And if male patriarchy gets so much power out of PIV, maybe we should limit it… to, say, oh, how ’bout just letting him have sex with only one woman that he’s married to?

And since we’re limiting sex for the men, it’s only fair that we just take sex out of the public discourse; render it something that’s just kept private.

Then all I need is a top hat and a horse-drawn carriage, and my life be perfect!

So if you too can be a lesbian in 10 days, how does this fit in with the whole “born this way” narrative? Because we’ve all be assured repeatedly that a person of the homosexual persuasion did not choose to be gay, they were born that way. Or are straight people the only ones who have the ability to change sides? And if that’s the case, are they gender-locked when they decide to bat for the other team or, like with Arab Muslims who look down on non-Arab Muslims (they’re not “real” Muslims), are they really just considered to be fake homosexuals by the “real” GLBT community? And who decides? Do they have to constantly prove their gayness? Who to? Is there a right of passage or some big ceremony with lots of glitter, taffeta, and Elton John?
