Lesbian Hockey Coach, 39, Gets Year in Jail for Molesting 15-Year-Old Girl

Lesbian sexual predator Heidi Ferber.

Heidi Ferber had competed in hockey all across North America and Europe, but left the sport after suffering too many concussions. In 2010, she became assistant coach to a girls’ hockey team in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The head coach of the team was Alex Petrie, whose daughter Chanelle played on the team:

The player and assistant coach struck up a friendship, Ferber becoming a mentor both on and off the ice.
Within two months, Ferber began sexually preying on the 15-year-old during hockey road trips and secret encounters carefully hidden from Petrie’s parents. . . .
[At a February court hearing] Crown prosecutor Don Mann outlined circumstances of what started as friendship and swiftly changed due to Ferber’s aggressive sexual demands. . . .
Mann said Petrie was confused about her sexuality at the time, something exploited by Ferber. . . .
The pair kissed about a month-and-a-half after meeting. By November 2010, Ferber was making sexual advances on Petrie.
During the season and into mid-2011, the two had what Mann characterized as “countless sexual encounters.”

So, the 39-year-old lesbian coach made “aggressive sexual demands” on a 15-year-old girl who “was confused about her sexuality.”

Ferber was convicted and last week was sentenced to one year in jail.

One year — what if Ferber had been a male coach or teacher who had “countless sexual encounters” with a 15-year-old? One year?

Ferber’s defense attorney “characterized Ferber as an emotionally unstable and previously closeted gay woman who suffered from concussions and epilepsy that clouded her judgement.”

Oh, so it’s OK to have sex with a 15-year-old if you’re an “emotionally unstable” closet case with a history of head injuries? Then why not just turn loose all the lunatics at the psych ward and give them directions to the nearest high school? Those schizos can’t be blamed for what happens — they’re “emotionally unstable,” after all.

The one ray of sunshine in this otherwise sordid tale is Chanelle Petrie. With the support of her parents, the 18-year-old survivor is now playing college hockey and actually appealed to the Canadian court to lift a ban on publishing her identity as a victim.

faced abuse to know that it’s OK to speak out.
“You don’t have to be ashamed of yourself.
You did nothing wrong. That’s a huge message that

Court heard that in 2011, the girl wrote a poem containing suicidal references.
In early 2012, she told her mother what was going on and the two went to police.

Chanelle contemplated suicide because of those “countless sexual encounters” with Heidi Ferber. Think about that.

Her attorney is a hack, and to launch yet one more scare-tactic about epilepsy is to set back the public perception of those who suffer from it. He used it b/c it’s an unsolved, mysterious medical condition– so anyone who needs an alibi blames it on something that can’t be verified. Feh.

There is not much I can say about the post, the woman is disturbed.

I suppose I could say that I think these cases get more attention than they deserve. And yes, if we’re going to nail male sex offenders to the wall, female sex offenders who commit the same crime should get the same penalty.

But my point stands. It’s asinine to hold a group responsible for the crimes of an individual.

There has been a lot — too much — uninformed and speculative discussion on this topic. Let me state my own opinions, for the sake of clarity:

Without regard for whether the prevalence of pedophilia is greater, lesser or the same among homosexuals, the gay rights agenda could have the effect of increasing the likelihood that young people will be victimized by predators.

Leaving aside every other reason why this might be so — and I have neither the time nor interest in examining the issue at length now — the rhetoric of “rights” will tend to embolden some people to act on impulses that they might otherwise have resisted. Some gay pedophiles will tell themselves that condemnation of their interests is rooted in homophobia, and that therefore their desire for underage partners is actually a “right.”

This is the danger I perceive. I am not interested in stigmatizing homosexuals generally. And you may notice that I have focused more on lesbian molesters than on gay male pedophiles. There is a reason for this: Lesbianism has access to a political philosophy — feminism — which is anti-male, so that the lesbian molester can claim that her involvement with an underage girl is “liberating” and “empowering.”

Just kidding, but seriously, I did a quick and dirty data analysis at that site: Page 1 has 26 profiles – 24 are women offenders. Page 2 has 25 profiles – I think there are 19 women and 6 men – the 26th is about an attorney challenging age of consent laws in school settings (Oklahoma). I did not filter for duplicate offenders – HuffPo does a new post when there is updated activity (plea, sentencing, etc.)

By the way, as much as I hated going over to Huff Post, I must say, there is some eye candy on those pages..

Huffington Post, like the UK Daily Mail, has figured out that stories about female sex offenders are good for Internet traffic. But this certainly does not mean that women are a majority of sex offenders.

As someone who investigates such stories more or less professionally, I’ll tell you that if you Google “teacher + sex + arrest” or “teacher + sex + guilty,” the vast majority of such crimes are committed by men. In fact, teenage boys are probably more likely to be molested by a male teacher than by a female. Certainly, most female victims of teacher molestation are victimized by men.

However, (a) there is a man-bites-dog factor in the story of a female sex offender, and (b) the reader interest is much higher if the female offender is attractive. This was why the Meredith Powell story became something of an Internet sensation, whereas less-attractive women offenders are usually just “local news.”

The same factor works, BTW, with victims. In both the Heidi Ferber case and the Andrea Cordosa case (California), you had victims who were attractive young women who were willing to come forward publicly and speak out about being victims of lesbian abusers. Such cases tend to reverse the usual liberal prejudice — i.e., the lesbian perpetrator is an object of sympathy because she is both female and gay — because the victim is also female, and at least conditionally bisexual, The reason that more such victims do not speak out, involves both the kind of shame-avoidance that Chanelle Petrie talked about, and also the fear of being called a homophobe for exposing such activity.

I wonder if there are any organizations tracking this? Would be interesting to know what the “ratios” are (i.e, male teacher/male student, male teacher/female student, etc.). Also if there is any historical perspective – as a percentage of students, are more, less, or the same being assaulted by teachers. And the Internet does tend to push local stories up to a national presence. I’m sure that clicking on your links in the story probably causes similar stories to show up on my computer. In our own school district of under 10,000 students we had a female teacher/male students arrest over 10 years ago, and several years ago we had a male teacher/female student arrest.

I have also noticed that this phenomena is not necessarily our country either – that becomes apparent when following links at the UK Daily News.

Serial killers are weird outliers. If I am not mistaken, somewhere around 350 have been identified by law enforcement in the last 50 years in this country, or fewer than one per metropolitan region. Sexual molestation of youth is vastly more common.

The “researchers” are apparently so deficient in common sense that they cannot identify a male adult who sexually molests a male child as homosexual, but think it’s wiser to go along with the offenders’ self-descriptions!

I want to stress this part:

Now, just why would the assumption that an adult male who molests male children or adolescents is homosexual be “unwarranted?” The only “reason” of which I can think is that if such an assumption is warranted, it might paint homosexuality in a bad light, and we cannot have that!

Instead, we find the story Anamika cite telling us that man of these offenders have been mostly incapable of forming adult sexual relationships, and that their attactions are not heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual, but that they are attracted to age and not gender.

Well, if that is really the case, then we ought to find that those offenders who have molested more than one child should have a roughly 50% rate of molestation with victims of both sexes. If the sex of the victim is irrelevant, then there is a 50-50 chance that the a second victim will be the opposite sex from the first. If a man molests five children, the odds that all of the victims will be of the same sex are only 6.25%, if the sex of the victim is not a consideration. I trust that Anamika will shortly provide us with the documentation which demonstrates that the vast majority of child molesters assault victims of both sexes.

When an adult the same sex as the child (or teen) is the perpetrator, they’re not considered “gay” unless they have sex with adults the same sex as them or identify as gay otherwise. So, the dance teacher, who was married to a man, was not a homosexual perpetrator even though she forced herself on a girl?

So is it real or is it semantics?

I don’t find it too hard to believe that 83% of child rape is an adult man on a boy or an adult women on a girl… it’s just a matter if we want to call them homosexual for it or not.

Let me see. We have pretty good evidence of homosexual predatory abuse occurring in the Catholic Church, BSA, schools, Hollywood and pretty much anywhere there are kids. You’ll even find the occasional ‘honest’ homosexual who would strongly advise you to keep your children away from them.

If you understand homosexual culture (read, study, interview) you will understand that youth and pederasty are core elements of that culture. It’s the norm with them, not the exception.

That’s a gross exaggeration by any measure. Art Deco’s earlier comment that it is more like 1/3rd is perhaps more near to reality.

Anamika’s source then proceeds to try to explain away what he has already documented, by saying that his pedophilic attractions, why they have nothing to do with homosexuality, and then says that pre-pubescent boys kind of remind the pedophile of girls, which makes absolutely no sense because there are just as many girls around as boys. If they want someone feminine, there are plenty of females around!

It’s all bovine feces, attempts to somehow separate the far greater incidence of same-sex child sexual abuse than homosexuality occurs in the population in general, because the notion that there is any link at all between homosexuality and child sexual abuse just can’t be allowed to stand.
