U.S.-Backed Subversion in Israel?

Posted on | January 28, 2015 | 126 Comments

Alana Goodman at the Free Beacon reports astonishing news:

A U.S. State Department-funded group is financing an Israeli campaign to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and has hired former Obama aides to help with its grassroots organizing efforts.
U.S.-based activist group OneVoice International has partnered with V15, an “independent grassroots movement” in Israel that is actively opposing Netanyahu’s party in the upcoming elections, Ha’aretz reported on Monday. Former national field director for President Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign Jeremy Bird is also reportedly involved in the effort.
OneVoice development and grants officer Christina Taler said the group would be working with V15 on voter registration and get-out-the-vote efforts but would not engage in overtly partisan activities. She said OneVoice and V15 are still formalizing the partnership.
While V15 has not endorsed any particular candidates, it is working to oppose Netanyahu in the March elections.

Barack Obama and John Kerry need to answer for this.

(Hat-tip: Memeorandum.)

Oh, they will: now that the Israelis know that President Obama is trying to topple Prime Minister Netanyahu, more Israelis will vote for Bibi. Israelis know very well just how much our honored President hates them and their country, and some who were on the edge concerning how they’d vote will now vote Likud, because the Israelis respect our President almost as much as I do.

Do Democrats even notice how out of control Obama is?

The Israelis also know that the vast majority of Americans support a) their right to exist and b) Bibi’s strong stance against Islamic extremism.

They probably do. But they don’t care.

They’ve spent all this time and energy backing him. They don’t dare pull back now or oppose him, except for the most desperate need (i.e. getting reelected).

How Jewish Americans can continue to support the Democrats is beyond my comprehension. Since Jimmy Carter, it as been apparent to anyone with an IQ sufficient to keep a room warm were it on a thermostat, that the Democratic Party is stuffed to the gills with antisemites.

Well, maybe he won’t win; the actual election is the only poll that counts. But he’ll get more votes than he would have otherwise thanks to our honored President.

Long knives to do what? He can’t run for re-election, so they can’t defeat him for anything, and they aren’t going to impeach him. He’s going to be a two-year lame duck, which is what any president in the last half of his second term is.

American Jews tend to be politically liberal, and are more urbanized than the rest of the population. Because Republicans are more openly Christian, the more secular nature of the Democratic Party is more appealing to Jews.

The big separation, if it happens, is less likely to be over Israel than it is over economics: the Democrats have lost the white working class because they can’t be both the party of the working man and the non-working man. Once American Jews start to see their own economic successes threatened by Democratic policies which want to keep taking more and more from them, to give to lazy scumbags who won’t work, then they’ll start voting Republican.

Sure he will…people in Israel are looking at this hawk and ALL that has happened under his reign…the same way that Bush is looked at now…Failed record and policies.

Back in the ’80s I spent a summer in Israel bumming around and had the occasion to meet a retired IDF medic, who’d fought in all the wars from 1948 through 1973. He and I were sitting in Tiberius on the Sea of Galilee one evening drinking Macabees Beer, when some IAF Phantoms roared over the lake and banked east over Golan. I commented, “You must be thankful for McDonnell-Douglas.” (My dad helped designed the F4). His response: “I’m thankful for American dispensationalist Christians.”

    Food for thought.

Obama is hosting Muslim Brotherhood at WH to undermine al Sisi in Egypt. This is not a secret, it is quite open what the Obama Administration is up to.

This is why King Abdullah hated Obama for throwing Mubarak under the bus.

It was a great time. I spent a week or so doing the obligatory “church tours,” but after that just roamed around. It was pre-marriage to my lovely, longsuffering wife, but let me just say, Israeli chicks are the cat’s meow.

    Finrod,
You do know that pResident Dingleberry’s minions are cracking down on “death threats”/”expressing the desire of harm occuring to others”/”wishing death/illness on individuals/groups”, right?

We know nothing of the poor creature unfortunate enough to perform the referenced service on Herp?Troll… and though we can conjecture its probably lacking sentience (inferrable from the danger posed by the service combined w/the recipient,) the critter is obviously lacking a sense of esthetics… excluding blackmail or large quantities of gold bullion, of course.

That you “add insult to injury” by pointing out the obvious danger could, by an overly zealous government minion, be stretched into a threat on that creature.

Of course— if the creature is human, you’ll get much grief.

    :
I actually understand the “why” behind the last of that list— Proggies have a “magic wish” mentally so it’s real to them!

There has been a massive schism in the Democratic party since the 70s. It has been where the Code Pink/ANSWEAR/the rest of the ComIntern has been pushing to eliminate and eradicate the classical liberals of the Andrew Jackson or even early 20th century that thought of eliminating imperialism/colonies and growing liberty trees. These classical liberals are like the GOP when they put TR on the ticket with McKinley. That by having them close we can control them and temper thier fire bellies. The reality is much more different and those that have seen the damage have tried to come over to the GOP. However the GOP and it’s fight tween paleo-conservative, tea party, beltways and all the other identifications make it hard for us to woo enough over to flip some of these states and congressional districts. Besides the radicals in the Democratic leadership say too many other nonsense to keep the classics happy (civil rights, social nets, some liberty discussions). So to make it all work we have to show end game from higher taxes on the blue collar while protecting the “right” management and boards, to punishment issued out not based on anything but those that fallout of favor of the state to finally the support of anti-liberty ideas under the idea that freedoms need to be suppressed to give you freedom.

    Wow.

This is even worse than Clinton’s meddling in Israeli elections back in the 90s

I’m pretty sure some of you will remember Clinton sending down Carville, Greenberg and Shrum to run Ehud Barak’s campaign. Clinton wanted to hand-pick the candidate for his planned legacy of getting a peace agreement with the Palestinians.

Boy was that a big swing and a miss.

Calling the democrat party “more secular” is a bit like calling the klan “more white”! How an American of even the slightest profession of faith can in good conscience vote for that pack of goons is beyond me. Hell, on the issue of abortion, how anybody with a spark of plain humanity can do it is beyond me.

Sending US government agents to gin up racial animosity in Florida?

Sending US government agents to gin up racial animosity on Missouri?

    Sending illegal weapons to Mexico?

Sending US money to unseat an allied leader?

All in a day’s work for Barry.

Given what happened to Go-daffy, Netanyahu had better look out for US ships and aircraft approaching Israel in the middle of the night.

About the only Israelis that aren’t thankful for Dispensationalist Christians are the so called Orthodox. Christians filming in Israel have had to have Police escorts in Orthodox areas. I saw some footage where an Orthodox Jew actually assaulted the man in front of the camera. Hatred for Christians is deep seated among that group.

Dispensationalists recognize that the Church did not replace Israel in God’s plan. They have a different destiny than the Church, and they will return to God and ask for Christ to return.

Slick Willie’s minions managed to get Barak elected. Israel paid a very high price for it and elected Sharon as a result.
