#MichFest: Trannies Win, Lesbians Lose

Lesbians mourned Wednesday when it was announced they had lost what was, to them, an important tradition:

The 40th Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival, to be held this August, will be the last, its founder announced today.
The storied women-only event, first held in 1976, has been the subject of controversy in recent years because of its exclusion of transgender women, with many artists and organizations deciding to boycott. . . .
[Founder and organizer Lisa Vogel] acknowledged, “There have been struggles; there is no doubt about that. This is part of our truth, but it is not — and never has been — our defining story. The Festival has been the crucible for nearly every critical cultural and political issue the lesbian feminist community has grappled with for four decades. Those struggles have been a beautiful part of our collective strength; they have never been a weakness.” . . .
The exclusion of transgender women from the fest has led performers such as the Indigo Girls, Antigone Rising, and Lea DeLaria to withdraw from the event, and last year several national LGBT organizations signed on to a petition from statewide LGBT group Equality Michigan calling on the festival to change its rule limiting attendance to “womyn-born-womyn.” . . .

The aggression of transgender activists toward lesbians was one of the little-noticed aspects of feminist politics that caught my attention in January 2014 when I began researching radical feminism. At first, it appeared to me that lesbians like Cathy Brennan were the villains in that conflict. The more I researched the issue, however, the more it seemed that Brennan and her fellow radicals were actually the victims of a deliberate hate campaign perpetrated by some seriously disturbed individuals who have zero — I repeat, zero — respect for women.

No one could accuse me of sympathizing with lesbian feminists, but on this issue, they were certainly right: Defining “woman” is a matter of science, not politics. Furthermore, as numerous examples have made clear, “transwomen” (i.e., males who pursue “transition” to female) very often have histories of violence toward actual women. More than that, however, there is the matter of whether women who with to join all-female organizations or attend all-female events have the right to insist that the institutions are only for women — you know, the kind of people who have XX chromosomes and vaginas?

All the liberal rhetoric about “diversity” and “inclusion” fails here. Beyond the obvious issue of civility — it’s rude to barge in where you are unwanted and begin yelling about your “right” to be there — whatever happened to the vaunted “right to privacy”? Have feminists forgotten their own principles? Or is this just further proof that liberals don’t actually have any principles? Behold the gloating headline at the liberal feminist site Jezebel:

Rub some salt in your enemy’s wound. “Sister is powerful,” eh? Liberal advocates of “inclusion” have won this battle, but if they expect radical lesbians to stop fighting the war, I’ll bet they’ve got another think coming.

Conservatives ought to pay attention to this conflict, because there are important issues and principles involved. Much like the Indiana pizza parlor that was targeted by a hate-storm, the Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival fallen victim to a dubious idea of “rights” that, in reality, involves the negation of liberty. The strange concept I have called the “Compulsory Approval Doctrine” is a dangerous ideological weapon. If a small-town pizza parlor can’t choose which weddings it will cater, why should an all-woman event be allowed to exclude men in dresses?

Sure, we can enjoy our conservative schadenfreude at the expense of a lesbian music festival, laughing to see feminists suffer the consequences of their own theoretical dogma. If “the personal is political,” after all, everything becomes political. So the question of whether people with penises must be accepted as “women” is to be decided by a plebiscite or (in reality) imposed upon us by a consensus of cultural elites.

Whatever Justice Anthony Kennedy says is a “marriage,” we will be compelled to accept as such, and who knows what the “Emerging Awareness” will next require? Democracy in the 21st century begins more and more to resemble dictatorship, except for the occasional eruptions of lawless anarchy. The Rule of Law is trampled under foot and our constitutional republic is but a fading memory.

They call it “progress,” but you may notice an aroma of burning brimstone, as we near the destination of this road paved with good intentions.

Yes they have the right to limit women’s events to women, not mutilated men who claim to be women. This goes along with the right for us to reject kweer ‘marriage’ as marriage. There’s a whole package of stuff that comes with that. A package the radicals of the insane left wish to limit in application.

I’ve been keeping tabs on this whole tranny vs rad fem thing for awhile. These women are truly on the front lines of this battle. And, while I also strongly disagree with them on just about everything, on this one, they are absolutely in the right. They have every right to associate with whom they want and to be free from the predatory behaviour of these men in dresses. They are about the only group who actively fight against the normalization of these mental cases. Other women…just want to scoop up all these poor wounded men and give them big hugs and invite them into our dressing rooms. Bletch. And many men are just happy they’re in our restrooms.

But it’s infinitely more satisfying to toss juvenile insults about–which insults indicate a complete ignorance of millenia of philosophy and contemplation of the human condition–than admitting Christians have been right all along and don’t deserve the opprobrium which they receive any time they reject society’s steadfast march toward the abyss. That this is a uniquely lesbian problem is unsurprising: lesbians, by nature, do not see the sexes as complementary, but only as competitive, while heterosexual feminists can still see men as a necessary complement to women. Thus, the normal feminists can have some sympathy for the trans “women,” because they don’t hate men, while the lesbians can only see the inclusion of trans “women” as allowing their competition an advantage.

And make no mistake about it: lesbian feminists not only see men as their competition, but they also see themselves as disadvantaged in competition with men. If we assume that men and women are of equal intelligence, men still have advantages in physical size, strength, speed, and toughness, things which make a real difference in the world. As much as the feminists want to deny that such things make a difference, they really do. Look at studies of men only: it has been documented many times that taller men have a discernible advantage, economically, over shorter men, even in fields where physical size ought to make no difference at all. Testosterone is still the single most valuable economic advantage anyone can have.

Size and perceived physical strength make a person seem more imposing, more dominant, whether it is true individually or not, and the lezzies know that they cannot compete in that area. The lesbians understand, viscerally if not intellectually, that the inclusion of trans “women” is the inclusion of people who are naturally larger and more imposing than themselves.

I suggest you try to comprehend your own comment and analyse it for ad hominem violations. As I said, you’ve not been paying attention. Christians have been actually fighting this sort of thing for a long time, but have been opposed by those more interested in tossing about insults like “sky god” and “superstitious idiots” than acknowledging that fact.

If ever they think that, they would never utter it openly. They would just maintain the “fish needs a bicycle” line.

Even though some feminists may have relations with male persons, they may be reluctant to identify as heterosexual, because that is now a reviled identity in feminist/progressive circles.

They try to say that they are bisexual or pansexual and are fully open to having relations with lesbians and transsexuals or whatever other mutants, but that they just currently happen to be fraternizing with a non-transsexual male. It is their way of having a heterosexual relationship but still trying to be in the “gender-queer” club which raises a feminist’s status.

It’s hard to sympathise with either the radfems or the trannies because they’re just competing flavours of malicious lunacy – All Men Are Rapists versus Die, Cis Scum!

The main ideological spare rib of contention between them is that while trannies believe a man can shimmy into a skirt and – presto changeo! – he’s a she, radfems believe the sexes are essentially interchangeable and that gender is a social construct invented to rape women.

And that’s only the intellectual dispute between them. The real dispute is more – well, Darwinian isn’t the right word for it, but it’s close – and has much higher stakes. The lezzies don’t want “women” with dicks hitting on them or trying to steal their girlfriends. Lesbians are a jealous and possessive bunch, which is why the butch ones beat up their partners so much.

Back in 1999, Lisa Vogel unsuccessfully tried to keep a lid on the simmering tranny-radfem animosity by inviting the shemales to focus their hate on normal men, or “patriarchy” as she put it:

We are saddened and angered that political energy is being directed at tearing down womyn’s space, instead of at the external institutions that still concentrate power and control in patriarchal hands

But even so, I do sympathise with the lezzies. They were having a private event on private property, and weren’t hurting anyone. If radfems applied the spirit of Michfest to other areas of their lives, they’d have their own country by now.

Intersectionalism is based on the idea the biggest loser is Queen. It reminds me of the criminal cult in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, except they had principles and morals. Unfortunately “loser” includes ADD, OCD, PTSD, bi-polar depression and oodles of meds. So crazy black trans hunchback with an overbite wins. We’ve been making that joke for a long time and called “bigots” for extrapolating this out to its logical conclusion, a thing insane gender feminists have never examined. The sorry truth is that “joke” is reality.

The other day Milo conjectured it’s only a matter of time before some white dude wants to be “transblack.” He’s right. I’m sure patriarchal science will find a way. Those who remember the book Black Like Me know this is true.

I predict more wailing when the ton of awards given to black folks are co-opted by transblack rappers and writers. “PoC” will have to change to “WPoC.
