Why Do Feminists Hate Beauty?

Posted on | April 28, 2015 | 125 Comments

“The digital armpit that is Tumblr.com seems to be the preferred medium of young feminists who, although they have accomplished nothing and have no credentials, find that they can become Internet Superstars by disparaging men. It seems that the most formulaic, banal and stereotypical derision of males is enormously popular with a certain type of young woman.”
Robert Stacy McCain, March 12

Exactly why a particularly stupid and rancid type of feminism flourishes on Tumblr is a topic that would require more time than I can afford to put into it today. My wife and I are celebrating our 26th anniversary, and so I’ll spare you my theories about Tumblr feminism. What I want to do instead is to link this Ace of Spades item about a feminist hate-storm against a company’s “Beach Body” ad:

This upset the Social Justice Tumblrinas, who began arguing that Everyone already has a “beach body,” because everyone — well, every woman — already has the perfect body with no need of improvement. (Note that feminists are usually critical of men who could stand to do some pushups.) . . .
Oh, and Protein World called the feminists — many of whom are vandalizing their advertisements, or even threatening to destroy their offices — “terrorists.”

What is it about the celebration of female beauty that angers feminists so much? Gosh, I just can’t imagine what it could be.

I’ve seen the Breitbart article before, and I still love this bit:

“I couldn’t have dreamt or hoped of having our advert reproduced more times across the news networks and social media as it has been done,” says Richard. “This protest has been absolutely phenomenal for us and entirely counter-productive for them.

“At the height of the protest, myself and the CEO took over the Twitter feed from our usual girl, and it was hilarious. They were saying, “ooh, somebody’s getting fired tomorrow” – but it was us: the CEO and head of marketing. We had a good chuckle at that.

Excerpt from Mein Armpitz by Adolphia Dworkin:

“… and so in a single decade, 68 billion women were burnt at the stake by an ape-like Patriarchy. There would be no more Gothic cathedrals built in Europe, since the now rare mighty woman-blood had been commonly used as mortar.”

I’m five foot seven and have absolutely no jump shot. Further, I’d prefer to take a crack at disarming a hydrogen bomb rather than hit the front end of a one and one. Imagine if I were to try to launch a protest against the latest Nike basketball shoe because watching people being athletic makes me feel bad about myself. Aside from providing the company with a zillion dollars of free advertising, all these people did was demonstrate how emotionally fragile they are.

It was a picture, but this will have to do.

“By farting louder the man is using passive aggressive violence to
position himself as dominant, this intimidates the woman to
subconsciously not release as much flatulence and thus the woman fearing for her safety doesn’t fart as loud as a sign of submissiveness, this in turn contributes to rape culture and women being oppressed.”

    Emphasis mine.

However, men tend to set the bar lower looks-wise (which is to say, far more reasonably), than women do among themselves, I think, right? I guarantee that when you see heavily made-up women, whether alone or with (male) dates, they’re not doing it for men. They’re doing it because they’re competing with their homies Ashley and Amber, and also with that blonde beyotch over by the bar who thinks she’s all that. It’s a passive-aggressive cat fight, is what it is.

I’m not a man, so I concede that I could be horribly wrong here, but it seems from my observation that men tend to roll intelligence, sense of humor, decency and other “inner beauty” traits into the total “looks” package, however subconscious that may or may not be.

And maybe it’s part of the potential pick-up process, but it seems from experience that I get more genuine-sounding compliments about my looks from men when I’m wearing just a smidge of makeup and a brilliant smile, than with the full-on “I spent all day in the salon” style.

Yes, the limited cases involve the waves of internal butt-ugliness that wafts off radfems especially.

Everyone – and I mean everyone – sees past plain looks when enticed to by sparkling personality traits (unless the viewer is also internally butt-ugly and therefore 100% personality-free).

Rush should have more accurately said “women with ugly or no personality”. Better yet, Rush should learn when it’s appropriate to just shut up, because in his haste to mock feminists with a snarky sound-bite, he ignorantly and falsely included women who think they’re not good looking. Which is odd, because Rush himself isn’t exactly Chris Evans, and sometimes his own inner butt-ugly seeps out.

Her real figure was far more reasonable: 80 a day for 300 years. 9 million. No years attached, just some medieval European era.

For those interest in the Dworkin nuttiness there is this:

In her 1974 book Woman Hating, Dworkin has an entire chapter called “Gynocide: The Witches” which takes up one-sixth of the book’s actual text. Dworkin claims a society of “neolithic” “matriarchal” “fairies” existed “in England as late as the 17th century” who were “sorcerers.” Dworkin further suggests the women being persecuted actually were witches in possession of “esoteric magic.” Of these “covens” Dworkin writes “There may have been an actual continental organization with one all-powerful head.” Upon a “neophyte” joining “she no doubt also learned the secrets of medicine, drugs, telepathy, and simple sanitation, which would have considerably improved all aspects of her earthly existence.” Telepathy would’ve indeed been a boon in medieval Europe, particularly in reading the minds of men about to burn you at the stake. I’m actually not surprised medieval Europeans would kill telepathic witches on sight who were in possession of magic and who hung out with a “fairy race” of sorcerers which “concealed their dwellings in mounds half hidden in the ground.” That would scare the crap out of me.

Dworkin writes “It is hard to arrive at a figure for the whole of the Continent and the British Isles, but the most responsible estimate would seem to be 9 million” “nearly
    all women, over 300 years.”

Dworkin finishes “Annihilated with the 9 million was a whole culture, woman-centered, nature-centered —all of their knowledge is gone, all of their knowing is destroyed.” So they actually were witches. Given that, I’m not surprised a patriarchy arose to protect us from a coalition of matriarchal Hobbit-sorcerers and flying mind-reading sorceresses. For all I know they were vampires as well. As Dworkin writes, “A lot of knowledge disappears with 9 million people” to which I say thank God for that.

I hate to admit that I might have some insight into the mindset, but in my younger years I used to think of myself as more aligned with the liberals and progressives out there (my parents to this day consider all conservatives to be TEH EVIL!) and I can admit that somewhere in the background behind all the other stuff there’s this certain weariness in them with respect to simple competition.

Think about it. Unions try to discourage competition with their policies and their efforts to keep even the worst workers employed. We have the schools handing out ‘participation awards’ because we don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.

When all your status and belonging is tied up in having a college degree, it sucks if you can’t compete to get into the best universities so you want EVERYBODY to be able to get in.

White men are a competitive challenge to women and minorities so they have to hobble them in the workplace with quotas.

For feminists though, especially with respect to beauty, it’s a matter of competing in an arena that is difficult to win in. There is only a subset of women who will ever win beauty pageants but rather than celebrating that minority of women, the feminist will deride the pageants and demean the award. Building a healthy muscular body takes dedication and effort (I know I’m going through that process now) and having a healthy body is truly something to be proud of because of that measure of dedication and hard work but the feminist won’t celebrate it because it is still viewed as a competition they can’t win.

In the end they’re wrong though. Competition is important and smart. Competition is part of ‘survival of the fittest’. Through competition the survivors are assured to be the best, brightest, strongest and best able to carry on. Athletes and people with fit bodies deserve to be lauded for their efforts and dedication and *what they can teach us about how to be healthier and stronger*. We should always learn from the people who succeed and strive to improve our own lives in every way we can.

Is not Jesus the ultimate epitome of everything that you can never compete with? You will never achieve the same level of divinity of God or of Jesus, but you can easily learn from his example and become a better person for it.

Every time you ask ‘What would Jesus do?’ aren’t you applying some measure of that ‘social darwinism’ you take issue with?
