Hello,

Your account will not be restored.
Thanks,

Well, what is “targeted abuse,” what constitutes “participating” in this behavior, and what are the “rules around” it? Where is the evidence that I have been “violating the Twitter Rules”? Who was “targeted”? What was the nature of the “abuse”? Questions like this multiply, you see, if we can be permitted to ask questions of the arbiters of “Twitter Rules,” but that’s just it: No questions allowed!
“It’s as if the grown-ups left for the weekend,
and the SJW interns are in control.”
This morning, again without explanation, the @SexTroubleBook account — which I created last year to promote my book — was suspended.
Everybody is shocked, shocked!
“Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominant,
then it tries to silence good.”
Feminism is evil. But you knew that, right?
UPDATE: Robert Tracinski at The Federalist:
On Friday, Twitter suspended the account of Robert Stacy McCain, a conservative blogger and dogged critic of feminism, apparently without warning or explanation. This has led, in true Twitter fashion, to protests under the hashtag #FreeStacy.
Only a few weeks earlier, Twitter had announced the creation of a “Trust and Safety Council,” to which it appointed Anita Sarkeesian, a feminist known for denouncing “sexism” in video games, a prominent figure in the Gamergate controversy — and oh yes, a frequent target of criticism from McCain. So it sure looks like the moment Twitter gave Sarkeesian the power to do so, she started blackballing her critics. . . .
[T]he company’s decision to appoint a “Trust and Safety Council” that will be “a new and foundational part of our strategy to ensure that people feel safe expressing themselves on Twitter.” Among a list of organizations described as members of the council are the Dangerous Speech Project, which has produced a set of guidelines for recognizing such “dangerous speech” — a set of criteria so vague and broad that they could encompass anything from the incitement that led the Rwandan genocide to an average afternoon on talk radio. And maybe that’s the point.
Then there is Feminist Frequency, the outlet used by Anita Sarkeesian as a platform to criticize video games for being sexist. Sarkeesian’s critics accuse her of using claims of online harassment to discredit her critics and get them kicked off of services like — you guessed it — Twitter. So when Sarkeesian and the “dangerous speech” types got appointed as Twitter’s speech police, there was reason to think they’re going to turn Twitter into a university-style “safe space” where “safety” is assured by removing advocates of opposing ideas. . . .
Read the whole thing at The Federalist.
And now McCain's other account, @SexTroubleBook, is suspended too. $TWTR digging deeper. #FreeStacy

Hi @Twitter: Fire @jack and disband the 'Trust and Safety' Council.
Here's why:https://t.co/TwHxVGr429

UPDATE II: Karl Denninger reflects on how the declining value of Twitter as corporate enterprise may be hastened by their “Trust and Safety” agenda. Do they really want to be the next MySpace?
@twitter defines "disagreement with my opinion" as abusive or harassing behavior.https://t.co/42XaowWq7b#FreeStacy pic.twitter.com/ylxM5moONu

Linked at Legal Insurrection, Pax Dickinson, a thread at Memeorandum and welcome, Instapundit readers!
It appears more and more that Twitter’s “Trust and Safety Council” should be more properly named “Anita Sarkeesian’s Committee To Ban People Who Say Mean Things About Her.”
I blame the public education government indoctrination system. Earlier today I got a phone call from a faculty member at a university (which I will not name) who spent 30 minutes telling me the absolute insanity that now prevails on campus. The students are ignorant of facts, but very certain of their opinions, all of which are liberal, and this is a religion for them. For many years, the public K-12 schools have been promoting a progressive agenda through their curriculum and policies, and children are taught to value intellectual abstractions (i.e., “equality,” “diversity,” etc.) to such a degree that they are incapable of thinking outside those categories. They arrive on campus with minds full of this ideological nonsense, and are unprepared to deal with contradictory facts or opposing arguments. Feminists like Anita Sarkeesian are incapable of defending themselves in a fair debate against a well-informed critic, and so the critics must be silenced. This is why the First Rule of Feminist is, “SHUT UP!”

There’s another game to play: when my daughter was young I had forbidden her, on a long trip, to ask the proverbial “are we there yet?” question.
Her game: how close could she come to asking that without tripping the ban hammer? Oh, she was a clever one too. It became a game of fun between the two of us.
Therefore: one could take a number of Stacy’s recent tweets and retweet them, changing them just slightly, and see what happens.
After all, if you get banned you’ll be in good company.

Well, you can tell the most sensitive areas by the most violent reaction. It’s obvious the foremost researcher in explaining how “feminism” and “PC” are actually a supremacist anti-male, anti-white lesbian liberation back to nature cult has been correctly identified as being the closest to uncovering that truth.
It’s up to journalists to stop using such stupid terms as “cultural Marxism,” “feminism” and “PC”; those are the Trojan Horses which provide camouflage to this obnoxious ideology. Do your work, boys. This is nothing more than a KKK in women’s studies clothing. They don’t teach about “women” in those classes but political lesbianism and how our hurt darlings were cast out of the Garden by Conan the Barbarian when he imposed “compulsory heterosexuality” and abolished incest. Add “intersectionality” and you have even more lies about history which target whites and men, hiding this slavery and that colonialism in order to do that. #WeNeedDiverseBooks is nothing more than an indictment of the immorality of whites and men powered by this so-called “feminism.”

I don’t use social media (except message boards) myself, and I’ve heard that it’s not intuitive, but there’s a Twitter/Tumblr alternative called FreezePeach that is based on GNUSocial.
(Some people were recommending Quitter as an alternative, but I read that they just suspended account creation and declared that they don’t want “shitposters and conservatives.”)
February 22nd, 2016 @ 5:53 pm
I think the Ghostery plugin for web browsers will do the trick. (I recently installed it, but I haven’t configured it yet.)
February 22nd, 2016 @ 5:59 pm
I don’t know off the top of my head, as I don’t use Twitter. I know I’ve read articles about this in the past though.
I just used my search engine du jour “Ixquick” and found nothing substantial, but then again, its basis is the evil Google search engine. But I’m going to keep checking with other search engines, because now I want to know, just on g.p.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 6:23 pm
It seems that Twitter is making a decision about conservatives.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 6:25 pm
LOL our betters are explaining it to us. NicoleBonnet1 who routine engages in targeted abuse has never lost an account. Well course not. It really is all about WHO you hate!
February 22nd, 2016 @ 6:28 pm
Twitter = Little Green Cerebral Infarc 2.0
February 22nd, 2016 @ 6:31 pm
I’ve long suspected that. Another reason never to use Twitter.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 6:32 pm
FYI they are shorting TWTR in the market…..
February 22nd, 2016 @ 6:43 pm
quitter has joined Twitter in banning @rsmccain
February 22nd, 2016 @ 6:45 pm
I’ve heard this before….we have raised a generation of self-important psychos.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 6:47 pm
Oh I’m sure there is going to be a “fire” sale soon.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 6:48 pm
Quitter has also banned @rsmccain
February 22nd, 2016 @ 6:48 pm
This is the kind of “social justice” I like! BWAHAHAHAHA!
February 22nd, 2016 @ 6:49 pm
It is like college now a days, for men.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 6:54 pm
And these two will be the last accounts, still tweeting each other, when they turn off the lights at Twitter. Which will be soon, because Sarkeesian won’t be able to control herself, and she’ll soon hit critical mass on suspensions, many of which will belong yo shareholders. And the market will react accordingly. Yar har har har!
February 22nd, 2016 @ 6:54 pm
[…] tells Robert Stacy McCain that his account will not be restored, bans his back-up account. In the future, everyone will get banned by Twitter. It will be like getting one’s fifteen […]

Who is she connected to and why has she been given so much pull?
February 22nd, 2016 @ 7:00 pm
That works too! Count me in.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 7:03 pm
Well as you know I did have a twitter account but after NicoleBonnet1, Mix an co kept falsely reporting me for abuse I don’t have one and haven’t for a while. With McCain, Adam Baldwin gone, and I sure more interesting conservatives banned there is no point in having an account
Of course the paranoid degenerates imagine I’m still on Twitter and keep reporting accounts that aren’t even me.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 7:10 pm
Someone needs to come up with an alternative to Twitter. It could be called Twitfree.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 7:12 pm
Sounds more like Muslim political theory to me.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 7:24 pm
The comedy scene is being terrorised by a clique of
hyper-progressive, politically correct comedians intent on purging their ideological opponents and rivals from the industry.

February 22nd, 2016 @ 7:34 pm
There is no difference.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 7:38 pm
@ChrisLoesch is gone as well…folks we are seeing the beginning of a conservative purge..the progressive are goose stepping in the streets.
The joy won’t last as they begin to devour each other for the crime of WrongThink
February 22nd, 2016 @ 7:40 pm
You could always get high, assault a police officer and get shot. That would make you a folk hero on Twitter.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 7:51 pm
My husband thinks I should just shut up, but probably he only means that metaphorically as well.
If you’re anything like my wife, well he should. 😉
February 22nd, 2016 @ 7:52 pm
Watch twitter’s stock tank as conservatives dump it….
February 22nd, 2016 @ 7:56 pm
Hey! I know where to find you at Christmastime, ya know!
February 22nd, 2016 @ 8:00 pm
“… keep reporting accounts that aren’t even me. …”
Now, that is funny!
February 22nd, 2016 @ 8:10 pm
Twitter is soon going to learn, conservatives – they have the disposable income
February 22nd, 2016 @ 8:10 pm
Consider joining, reviving, and promoting the decentralized Twitter knock off, app.net. It was minimized after not taking off but is still around. Good luck.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 8:12 pm
Some might tell you that the phrase “connected to” is applicable here, in the way that Tab A is connected to Slot B. But I wouldn’t know about that.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 8:20 pm
When I read what happened I decided twitter will only learn its lesson if people vote with the one thing that does matter to Twitter… their number of active users. I deleted my twitter account.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 8:20 pm
Yup apparently I’m @TradWifey and @DarnFacts and another account that I can’t remember
February 22nd, 2016 @ 8:29 pm
You’re wrong. I did 2 years of deep research into their round-robins. Virtually all of it is ginning each other up into a hysteria, with the occasional descent onto some innocent bookstore or other business to shame them. They do not like debate and block dissent. If fact they brag about how they have to block people. Many of them literally sit on Twitter every day for 5 or 6 years making inflammatory racist or sexual comments and then claiming harassment and “get out of my mentions.”
February 22nd, 2016 @ 8:31 pm
I just banned myself off of SF author David Brin’s site. Christ, is that guy a dishonest wacko.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 8:37 pm

February 22nd, 2016 @ 8:43 pm
I feel sorry for those (presumably) innocent victims, though.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 8:47 pm
@TradWifey has either deleted her account or changed her nick. @DarnFacts remains
February 22nd, 2016 @ 8:51 pm
They’re indoctrinated. And we can’t undo it.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 9:03 pm
I am not at all surprised. They’ll probably ban everyone who is openly non-leftist, if they haven’t already. The people there were very hostile to everyone who showed up there via Insty.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 9:12 pm
Just signed up on FreezePeach.xyz as ThatMrGGuy.
February 22nd, 2016 @ 9:21 pm
I don’t use twitter, but why don’t people swarm tweet for Stacy. He can periodically post things to tweet on this website, and people can write what he wrote (giving him credit). His tweets will appear randomly and in swarms. If conservatives are going to leave eventually, might as well drive them crazy, and may well draw some publicity and tank twitter even faster. Use our ability to communicate by other means and use their system against them
February 22nd, 2016 @ 9:49 pm
I’m kind of liking that Ghostery thing. It’s not 100% user friendly, but it IS 100% kewl to see the various, mostly offensive and unwanted, things going on in the background.
