I wish Ted Cruz the best, but he better beat expectations in Indiana and California.

See, the God is disappointed in you argument is the least sound. God appoints rulers, biblically speaking. So you can blame him for Obama and the current fiasco.

Those in high office, warts and all, may be permitted by the Almighty, but that ain’t no blank check to go jacking about.

The Almighty, if my years of study are correct, served up a free will zone. Everyone will stand and deliver for their deeds.

Eh. If you’re waiting on government to save you, you’re going to be disappointed. I’d love to see Mr. Cruz take it. We’ll see come November, though, who God chooses.

Preach the gospel. It’s more rewarding.

My point is that I’m unsure God chooses world leaders in an active way, in general. I’d argue that there are plenty of specific Biblical examples, yes, but that the relationship between God and history could be more complicated than we understand.

The Bible is pretty clear that God has a direct hand in rulers. Dan. 2:21, Ps. 75:6 & 7. He also directs their actions. Prov. 21:1. Our goal isn’t political. We’re to pray for peace from government. I want a godly government. I want revival. You can’t have the former without the latter.

I don’t think our government is more “godly” than the vilest sinner in office.
That is, I’d claim that godliness is an individual matter; our Constitution is more about restraining the flesh than edifying the soul.

Yes, let’s vote for loser boy because Smitty got appointed Pope by Al Gore (PBUH)

Or we could realize that Trump has the best ability to break through the Media Wall and actually move things in the right direction. Maybe Cruz is sincere, although he changed his mind yesterday, but will he be able to terrify the media, and actually get a mediot like Kelly destroyed?

    No.

So, do we need to slow down with Cruz,or take a chance on turning the right direction with Trump. Remember, we’re going toward a cliff, and while slowing down is a worthwhile goal, its still slow motion doom.

One of the key problems the conservative movement has had is its lack of offensive punch. We defend, we screech at the Lef’t’s latest insanity, and we lose a little bit more each day. We need to attack..

    April 22nd, 2016 @ 8:38 pm

Well, if you consider a Big Government (Praise Washington from where all Blessings Flow) rule by decree authoritarian the “right direction” enjoy your Federal Chains. Cruz changed his mind yesterday? Trump has changed his mind repeatedly, over the same thing, on the same day.

Difference is Trump is honestly trying to figure things out. Its called being open-minded. Look it up in a dictionary.

Right direction is as Jerry Pournelle explained returning local control for schools. Also building a Wall.

Problem with the Wall is we know that the Establishment won’t do it. So we need to try something else.

Honesty and Trump do not belong together in sentence. The man could give pointers on lying to Billy Jeff Clinton.

  20. DrGreatCham
    April 22nd, 2016 @ 9:32 pm

The problem is that the Cruz supporters have the same mentality as Obama’s acolytes. They lap up his Magic Mouth Vomit (TM) and never look at his destructive -actions- because he claims to share their ideology and concerns, when he is only really interested in his own personal advancement. Note the contradiction they’re promoting above, “We need to nominate someone to beat Hillary, so let’s go with the REALLY UNPOPULAR IDEOLOGUE who has a knack for alienating people over time, just so we can feel self-righteous.”

The South has seen plenty of these phony Elmer Gantry political types, which is why they went for a grating self-promoting carnie barker New Yawker like Trump over someone who should have theoretically cleaned up in the Bible Belt.

And he’s beating Cruz like a rented mule in the -Republican primary- popular vote, (which theoretically skews more conservative than the general electorate) so my argument is EVEN more reinforced.

It certainly does when you’re trying to win electoral votes -within- states.

Cruz lost heavily Republican areas to Trump, and he won’t expand the electoral vote counts in purple states, either. Once the pro-Democratic media machine is turned on his already unpleasant personality, he’ll make the Hildabeast look like a cookie-baking grandma.

  31. Finrod Felagund

Almost certainly correct. But if it’s already too late through the ballot box what’s the point of voting at all? I’m not concerned about Trump wanting to kick over the table, I’m simply not convinced he does. Or if he does I’ve no idea what he wants on it when it’s back upright.

  39. Finrod Felagund ?????????
