CAIR Loves ‘Em Some LGF: ‘Glad to See That Chaz Is Now Marketing the Caliphate’

Doug Ross: “It’s come to this: CAIR now tweeting links to LGF.”

“Breivik was deeply involved in the ‘counter-jihad’ blogosphere and UK far right groups . . . Breivik boasted online of his discussions with the English Defence League (the anti-Muslim group praised and supported by US bloggers Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller), and with ‘Stop the Islamisation of Europe’ — the European branch of Pamela Geller’s ‘Stop the Islamization of America’ (listed as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center).”

Johnson’s dhimmi-fication could not be more complete if he joined the Gaza flotilla and composed a jazz-guitar anthem, “Ode to St. Pancake.” The fact that he’s citing the SPLC and getting re-Tweeted by CAIR pretty much says it all, doesn’t it?

Of course, tu quoque: “Norway Shooter a Charles Johnson Fan,” Pamela Geller says, and she also notes that Oslo massacre suspect Anders Behring Breivk had been rejected from Stop Islamicization of Europe, as SIOE’s founder told Reuters.

Pamela further notes — and screen-caps, in case CJ tries to put it down the memory hole — Johnson’s own comment (about 11:30 a.m. PT/2:30 p.m. ET Friday):

“The simultaneous attacks sound like Al Qaeda to me, as does the scale of the bombing.”

And that was after some witnesses had already been quoted in the press saying the Utoya shooter was blond.

Having spent nine hours compiling a massive aggregation Friday, and updating again this morning, I’m way over my monthly quota for Norwegian news, but I’ll cut into my August quota by linking and quoting the same Guardian story CJ quoted:

Anders Behring Breivik, the man accused of the murder of at least 92 Norwegians in a bomb and gun massacre, boasted online about his discussions with the far-right English Defence League and other anti-Islamic European organisations. . . .
The disclosure of Breivik’s claimed links with far-right organisations came as details continued to emerge about the rightwing Christian fundamentalist and Freemason behind Norway’s worst postwar act of violence.
It was revealed that the 32-year-old former member of the country’s conservative Progress party — who had become ever more extreme in his hatred of Muslims, leftwingers and the country’s political establishment – had ordered six tonnes of fertiliser in May to be used in the bombing. While police continued to interrogate Breivik, who was charged with the mass killings, evidence of his increasingly far-right world-view emerged from an article he had posted on several Scandinavian websites, including Nordisk, a site frequented by neo-Nazis, far-right radicals and Islamophobes since 2009.
The Norwegian daily VG quoted one of Breivik’s friends, saying that he had become a rightwing extremist in his late 20s and was now a strong opponent of multiculturalism, expressing strong nationalistic views in online debates.
Breivik had talked admiringly online about conversations he had had with unnamed English Defence League members and the organisation Stop the Islamification of Europe (SIOE) over the success of provocative street actions leading to violence.
“I have on some occasions had discussions with SIOE and EDL and recommended them to use certain strategies,” he wrote two years ago. “The tactics of the EDL are now to ‘lure’ an overreaction from the Jihad Youth/Extreme-Marxists, something they have succeeded in doing several times already.”
Contacted by email, the EDL had not answered. . . .
Breivik’s Facebook page was blocked, but a cached version describes a conservative Christian from Oslo. The profile veers between references to lofty political philosophers and gory popular films, television shows and video games. The account appears to have been set up on 17 July. The site lists no “friends” or social connections.

Which is all very interesting, except that these are merely Breivik’s own assertions. Yeah: He shot down innocent kids in cold blood, but if he “boasted online” about something, buddy, you can take that to the bank. He may be the worst mass-murderer in Norwegian history, but Anders Behring Breivik would never lie.

Let’s see, what else? Eric Dondero analyzes Breivik through the prism of the “Nolan Chart.”

Whatever the Oslo killer was, he was no libertarian, so what was he? He was a typical misfit fringe loser, someone who — having nothing else to give him any sense of significance or purpose in life — is attracted to radical politics as a way of trying to Be Somebody.

These losers drift toward the fringe because it’s a Small Pond where they can feel like a Big Fish. And when they experience failure in their quest to Be Somebody — because even their fellow fringe types spot them for losers — they feel the need to Do Something.

It’s a predictable pattern: Lee Harvey Oswald became fascinated with Marxism, but was as much a misfit in the U.S.S.R. as he was in the U.S.A. The Commies didn’t need an American loser; they had plenty of Russian losers already. Oswald’s assassination of JFK was his big I’ll-show-’em-this-time effort to Do Something so he could Be Somebody.

Like I said: A predictable pattern, and Breivik’s Oslo massacre was in that sense no more “political” than Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold’s massacre at Columbine. There is thus no revelation about Breivik’s ideology or online associations that “proves” anything one way or another about American conservatives, and only a fool like Charles Johnson could think it does.

Speaking of misfit fringe losers . . .
