Come On, Bill: Newt Has Always Been An ‘Ideas Guy’

Bill Quick is attacking Newt for being Idea Man Newt, and refusing to drop out of the GOP hunt. But that’s who he is, that’s what he does. In this vintage clip going back to their time in the House together in the early ’90s, Newt is on a road trip with none other than Rick Santorum, explaining his revenue-enhancement ideas (NSFW, F-bomb):How about a little sympathy for a poor guy who got turned into a Newt, in the hopes he’ll eventually get better?

Actually, I’m not attacking him for being “Idea Man Newt.”

I am, however, urging him to get out of the race, if he hopes to have any chance of seeing his big ideas (and I like Newt quite a lot for his ideas) to have any chance of being implemented.

Anyway, as seems to be the general case here at TOM, click the link to find out what I actually said.

I, for one, stand in awe of Newt’s big ol’ brain and his big ol’ head, and believe that in order they and his precious big ol’ ideas be kept safe and secure as befits the National Treasures they are, that he should stick them up his big ol’ ass.

Sorry, Bill. In my haste to post a Jack Black clip for a belly laugh, I did not deliberately set out to twist your words.

Funny how Mr. Quick always to seem to complain that his words are being taken out of context.

Can we stop calling Newt an ‘idea’ man?  Throwing out a notion without the slightest notion how to make it happen is not an idea.

Now never mind what you think about Newt as a person or politician, the man does have some great ideas.
