Hillary Dives On Benghazi Grenade? HillBuzz Hardest Hit

CNN, via Drudge:

“I take responsibility” for what happened on September 11, Clinton said in an interview with CNN’s Elise Labott soon after arriving in Lima, Peru, for a visit. The interview, one of a series given to U.S. television networks Monday night, was the first she has given about the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.
Clinton insisted President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are not involved in security decisions.
“I want to avoid some kind of political gotcha,” she added, noting that it is close to the election.

Stunned. Still nothing at HillBuzz. Wow. I mean, Hillary permitted herself to be set on a shelf in 2008, and now this? One can only speculate on the nature of the dirt #OccupyResoluteDesk has on her, to twist out that kind of mea culpa from Hillary.

Why am I not a Presidential candidate? Because if I was Mitt, I’d be all: “I’d like to congratulate the President on his choice of Secretary of State. After the better part of four years, somebody in the Administration finally took responsibility the way leaders do, on one of those hopefully rare occasions when it involves confessing a shortcoming. In this case, one that involved the butchery of four Americans. Hopefully this President isn’t too old to learn something from all this. Better leaders plan so as to minimize these sorts of tragedies. Lesser men play the Casablanca card and locate a usual suspects for a round-up. How is Nakoula doing these days, Mr. President?”

The bad news here is that a post I had in mind “Workin’ Hard, Tryin’ To Help The Administration Come Up With New Benghazi Lies” is going to have to become a footnote. I had in mind:

  1. High-Order SWATting: Blame Karl Rove for spoofing the White House and having Nakoula arrested.
  2. Tehran Redux: Unnamed Administration officials imply the Romney campaign somehow paid for a smaller strike in Benghazi, to embarrass the President in time for the election.

That was all I had. You need some more material, but this is kind of a hard topic to be light and silly about, in the face of four corpses. Sail a vee.

Update: via Melody:

“[Clinton] seemed to push back against claims of a cover-up, blaming the “fog of war” for the Obama administration’s shifting explanations for the attack.”

When they say there is no cover-up, that, too, is part of the cover-up. They are akin to a scorpion getting a lift on a frog, cover-ups.

Soooo the President doesn’t do his job or make decisions when it’s close to the election for fear that it will hurt him.

-Question the timing [before the next debate].

-Question: Did Hillary exceed her authority? If so, she must be fired.

What I really respect is that after taking responsibility she suffered the consequences – you know, what happens when you take responsibility for something. I mean being stripped of her wealth, government job and pension and being exiled to that rather spartan hippie commune in the Aleutian Islands will really teach her a lesson.

I’m happy to see she’s not ‘taking responsibility’ by getting credit for ‘taking responsibility’ but not suffering the consequences (in a similar way to the way politicians ‘serve’ by bossing people around and being treated like a big shot).

Puh-leeze! How is she “taking responsibility” in ANY tangible way? Is she resigning? No. In fact, she isn’t even taking responsibility when she says she is, because she follows it up with “security decisions are made by the professionals” which avoids taking responsibility.

Of course, the worthless lapdog hacks in the media will eat it up and declare the entire affair “old news” now. Watch.

And the Administration keeps saying “there is no cover-up,” including Assistant Press Secretary & Emergency Bimbo Soledad O’Brien interviewing Rudi Giuliani on CNN by arguing the Obama talking points as if reading from the memo.

Has there EVER been ANYONE involved in a cover-up who admitted it? The first thing they ALL say when it is suggested is “No, there is no cover-up!”

So should we be assured by the assurances? Rest assured the scum-sucking propagandists from the Obama media are.

Sounds like a compromise. Hillary didn’t really admit anything at all: she put off the security decisions on “the professionals” and it is obvious to all that State had no role in the phony baloney video diversion story.

It just gives the compliant leftist media the chance to say, “Well, that completely settles that, doesn’t it? What else could we possibly want to know? Case closed! Back to Romney’s tax returns, quick!”

Just so. Four Americans including an Ambassador are dead; coming forth with a “My bad, I guess, but not really” doesn’t cut it.

Wasn’t Nixon who said of Watergate, “I accept the responsibility – but not the blame.”?

I’m sure that they can back that up with more assurances, so obviously there’s enough assurance to merit being reassured.

    I feel better already.

Unfortunately the current definition “of taking responsibility” for politicians at least, means not denying something they in fact said or did.” Accepting responsibility for” should not be confused with “accepting the consequences of” my actions, which of course must be avoided at all costs.
There is currently a new secondary (and perhaps transient) definition for “taking responsibility” which is for Mitt Romney to agree that all the lies and straw man arguments flung at and about him are the “God’s honest truth”. Anything less will surely doom his soul.
