A Chick-Fil-A Gun? Pluck Poultry Pistols!

The Mayor of Boston is firm in his devotion to protecting Beantown from the ravages of Christianist hate-mongers:

Mayor Thomas M. Menino is vowing to block Chick-fil-A from bringing its Southern-fried fast-food empire to Boston — possibly to a popular tourist spot just steps from the Freedom Trail — after the family-owned firm’s president suggested gay marriage is “inviting God’s judgment on our nation.”
“Chick-fil-A doesn’t belong in Boston. You can’t have a business in the city of Boston that discriminates against a population. We’re an open city, we’re a city that’s at the forefront of inclusion,” Menino told the Herald yesterday.

This is kind of like the commitment to protecting citizens that fellow mayor Rahm Emmanuel is showing in Chicago where gun control is a deal of Biden-esque proportions:

The streets of Chicago are officially more dangerous than a war zone: Homicide victims in the Windy City outnumber U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan this year.
While 144 Americans have died in Afghanistan in 2012, a whopping 228 Chicago residents have been killed, and the murder rate is up a staggering 35 percent from last year. That’s a rash of homicides quadruple the rate of New York City’s, and police and crime experts fear it may only get worse.
This week, Chicago announced it will allow police in the cash-strapped city to work overtime at time-and-a-half pay in order to put more officers on the street.

The Chick-Fil-A menace must be restrained!

This blog commends these fine American Mayors for their commitment to civic safety, and the right of consenting adults to put chickens wherever they want to, without fear of derogation from some dude in a suit and his Christianist minions.

Also, you had better not pray for rain!

Update: rampant anti-Statist Bill Quick suggests banning Mayor Bloomberg, to improve public safety in the Rotten Apple. Reached for comment, Mayor Bloomberg’s tea cup suggested that San Francisco should force Quick to write out all of Nancy Pelosi’s speeches, longhand, 50 times. Or until the moment that Quick’s mind ‘splodes, whichever comes first.

The mayor of Boston is like the blind men of Sodom, lashing out with irrational behavior at the most common sense of notions.  Hey, even atheist countries know that marriage is a union of a man and a woman.  And Chik-Fil-A isn’t discriminating against LGBTQ people, the owner merely stated the obvious.

Chick-Fil-A’s business doesn’t discriminate  against anyone.  The opinion is just the president’s personal opinion.  But then, we are not allowed to have opinions that differ from our lefty betters are we.
I also like the fact that they are closed on Sunday.

Back in the 1980’s, the Mayor of Detroit discouraged any businesses from operating in the city unless there was an African-American on their executive board.  Today, Detroit is an urban basket case.

I’m not saying that the Mayor of Boston is heading in the same direction.  But the parallels are remarkable.

A noble and worthwhile cause no doubt. Surely Smitty you can see this? “Ban the Chicken Peddler!”

Ann Althouse had a post on rabies that I expanded on and then it morphed into Brooks and Dionne discussing the NRA and gun control post Aurora, Colorado.  As you can guess, both Brooks and Dionne slam the NRA.  Which raises the question:  Do RINOs and liberals suffer from a latent form of rabies that occasionally manifests itself acutely like shingles or herpes?

I don’t know, but you make like this very short story I just posted to another Althouse thread.

    It’s Boston.

Where you won’t find Blacks and other non-whites daring to wander beyond their ghettoes without an escort.

Where, were it not for the Kennedy legacy infusing large amounts of cash for patronage projects like the Big Dig, would’ve had to evolve upwards to N’Awlins-level of racial and economic integration.

Chik-Fil-A loses nothing from the denial. Willing to bet it’s stock goes up, again.

That’s very responsible of you. Next, you’ll be calling for an Occupy Chik-Fil-A during lunch time.

I think it’s just terrible for Chick-fil-a to discriminate against people by refusing to allow gays to marry in their stores after ordering their chicken sandwiches.

    What a nitwit.

Has there been one single case of Chik-fil-a ever refusing to hire or serve a gay?

Can Boston afford to lose the lawsuit it’s about to get hit with?

Here’s a trade-off for you.  The Boswash Corridor, Seattle and San Francisco can cut off the nation’s supply of edgy urban magazines, and the rest of the country can cut off their food.

Chicken cannons are OK, I guess. I’ve always preferred a squid launcher.

Which helps explain why Rizzoli and Isles has descended into unwatchable liberal hell so quickly…. it fits the setting.

I actually like both the actresses (Sasha Alexander was great as Kate Todd in NCIS), but they’ve descended to Law and Order liberalism faster than I ever thought possible.

It’s a privately-held company, but I’m pretty sure the owners are pleased by the quality of their enemies.

May I call all of your attention to the Mumbles Menino website set up by Boston talk show host and Boston Herald columnist Howie Carr, where you can listen to America’s Dumbest Mayor prove that even idiots can rise to power.

While the Kennedy Legacy as you describe is one of the main causes, the biggest problem regarding race relations was Busing – the City never has recovered from the damage the Left inflicted with that do-goody-good-bulls–t.

Here’s a fun fact. Chicago is more dangerous than Afghanistan….

    Chick-Fil-A vs. Chicago

With all the violence going on in the world there is one controversy,
And it is not about an Alderman’s or Chicago Mayor’s idiosyncrasy,
It has to do with all pertinent things notwithstanding, a Chick-Fill-A,
The denial of opening an eatery because of what the owner had to say.

Mind you, this is Chicago where gang violence is on par with Iraq,
Going to public school is like Afghanistan as you might come back,
Certified dead, not from RPG’s or IED’s but from gunshot wounds,
7 year-old Heaven Sutton killed selling lemonade was way too soon.

Rham Emanuel lashed out at thugs responsible, “Who raised you?”
Well, actually Mr. Mayor, the exact same question is proposed too,
For your agreeing with Alderman Proco “Joe” Moreno on this ban,
As company President Dan Cathy agrees with God & not with man.

“Chick-Fil-A values are not Chicago values,” this mayor has said,
I should hope so, imagine eating chicken fingers ending up dead,
While drug transactions, car jacking & all felonies continue to rise,
I’ve never heard of death by gunshot for not turning over your fries.

16 year-old Shakaki Aspy sitting on her porch, shot thrice in her chest,
If this was on the battlefield in a war zone, maybe a bulletproof vest?
Also shot was Leon Cunningham 18, who had been wounded before,
Already confined to a wheelchair no longer able to walk out the door.

First Amendment concerns aren’t being violated yet zoning is not a right,
However, “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is,” so why the fight?
Anyone who finds quoting the bible offensive may they not eat elsewhere?
Mr. Mayor, Mr. Alderman aren’t there more serious issues for you to care?
