Patterico has a few careful words about the constant harassment:

Threats just give me something new to talk about. At a time of my choosing.
Do you folks understand that yet? You’ve tried to intimidate and threaten me for over two years now. No letter to my boss will stop me. No threat will stop me.
I’m not going away.

Exactly. Sociopathic monsters like Bill Schmalfeldt think they’re doing a smart thing with their endless cyberstalking against people who have better things to do with their lives. But the targets have discretion over what to ignore, when to respond and how. And when the tables are turned — when Brett Kimberlin, Neal Rauhauser and their troll gang find themselves exposed by those whom they’ve tried so desperately to destroy — it ill behooves the monsters to cry, “No fair!”

As I recall, the courts have opted out of this. LEO won’t do anything, especially since one side uses its FBI-informant status as ‘nyah-nyah’ safe zone.

So the environment has been set up by our Legal/Justice System to encourage actual physical violence between bloggers. Which is what BS’s and Team Kimberlin’s employer wants – a reason to shut down the Army of Davids.
Looks like a conservative or more will have to die to have a chance at taking down Team Kimberlin.

This liberal happens to be QUITE well-armed, thank you. You make a mistake when you believe most liberals are anti-second amendment. I grew up in Iowa and North Dakota. We will protect ourselves.

I just recently got a phone call that threatened me with SWATing….just because of a few tweets and positive comments here and at Hogewash.

I don’t think it was really the same a-holes though as they usually do not threaten, they just do.

Anyway, they aren’t going to scare me away from simply reading and commenting on stories anywhere on any subject.

Actually they do threaten. Right before they do it. However, the threat usually comes as some random cryptic message online. Like in a tweet or a comment. I’d call your local sheriff’s department and your local police department and inform them of what is going on. Mr. Hoge did this when the online threat against him showed up.
The SWATting never happened. The authorities were prepared. And I imagine they are still waiting for that call. They’re running out of targets, so they might have moved on to the supporters of Kimberlin’s critics. I’m just waiting for the day they SWAT someone in Texas. However, I’m guessing they won’t have the balls to do that.

Well, I let my local PD know that I received the phone call, so they are prepared at least.

Although they don’t seem to think it is anything to worry about since 9/10 of them know me from around town and at the VFW or American Legion
