Unfortunate Metaphor Alert: IRS Assigns Blind Worker To Lerner Case

An explosive revelation from J. Christian Adams:

Now, somebody I know is going blind, and it’s not a pleasant thing. So stipulate that we’re not piling on somebody doing their job. Somebody has to do it. Stevens, Smith, Doherty & Woods are unavailable.

However, it strikes me that, if you had an interest in rebuilding an organization’s credibility, there are better means than this to do it.

It’s like having a deaf phone operator in Eastern Time who only works business hours for students to call at a service academy.

Wow, that was kinda close to the bone. I used to call my YNCS on Monday morning just after 11AM EST to ask if there was anything I could do for my application.

One day at morning quarters I found out I’d made E-4 on the Navy-wide advancement exam. Then I called YNCS, and found out he was just working on my NAPS acceptance letter.

Didn’t have a day that good again until I beheld my son.

Nothing new. They assigned deaf people to listen to the evidence in fast and furious.

The Federal bureaucracy is broken and corrupt. The IRS has been deceptive and uncooperative in the House investigation. I can only suspect they put a blind man in charge of the investigation so that when he goes before congress the elected reps will have to go easy on him. Smart move but they may want to keep Biden out of their office. Would you look at this!

That was the Boy’s School on the Hudson that had that issue.

Needless to say, I didn’t get in.

Men, we should not be jeering. To the contrary! WE SHOULD BE TAKING NOTES! How many of us have run out of plausible (even IMplausible) excuses when The Wife wants us out of the easy chair and doing this or that on the honey-do list? Clearly, the people at the IRS have much to teach us in getting out of doing things, so let us learn from the masters.

    Per Ace of Spades:
A Congressional investigator recovered 424 backup tapes of the IRS’ emails. The IRS withheld a document that would’ve made the discovery easier, but the investigator found them anyway.
They were at the exact kind of site that you would expect, but personnel there said that no one ever attempted to recover them before the investigator showed up.
This effort took only TWO WEEKS. Some implications:
    1) IRS chief Koskinen lied under oath about making good-faith efforts to retrieve the tapes. Is this not obstruction of justice/Congress, as well as perjury? (I’m not a lawyer)
    2) If the site personnel are correct, then the tapes may not have been tampered with. I would make a concerted effort to verify that.
One released Lois Lerner email was quoted where she discussed how nobody would believe that multiple hard drives could fail at the same time. This demonstrates mens rea (guilty mind) as well as an intent to cover-up. It also implicates whomever Lerner was corresponding with.
If the tapes are authentic, who knows how high the correspondence goes? We now have some hope that we may get the truth. If I were Congress, I would flood the internet with the emails so it cannot be covered up.

Yeah, but Congress is blind, deaf and dumb (and I don’t mean that in the sense of not being able to talk).

Even a blind man can find a dead squirrel once in few thousand emails.

I think that’s how it goes.

Oh, Yacht Club of the Potomac, huh?

My Dad was an early OCS grad, second year of the school’s operation. He used to say that none of his kids would have a problem getting a degree. The smart ones would all get scholarships and the dumb ones could go to the service academies.

But even still the guy found them. All the while his higher level bosses were lying their asses off.

Hope his resume’s up to date.

No, the IRS inspector-general located them. I have to say I’m surprised that to date Eric Holder has not filed bogus criminal charges against that man.

According to the PJ Media story linked above, the IG retrieved them, but that story doesn’t say who told him they existed.

It was also revealed today that backup tapes of Lois Lerner’s emails were discovered in an off-site storage facility in West Virginia. The inspector general of the Treasury Department learned that the tapes existed and drove to West Virginia to retrieve them.
