The Intersectional Oppression Derby

Posted on | October 4, 2015 | 65 Comments

Feminist Tumblr is home to strange people:

I’m a white, queer, (more specifically bi/pan), 20-something genderweird woman-type person (still figuring out what the deal is with my gender). I use she/her pronouns.
This blog talks about relationships through an inclusive feminist lens, as well as joining in discussion on other feminist topics. Not a TERF/SWERF or a libfem.
This blog strives for understanding of intersectionality and awareness of oppressive power structures. If I f–k up and say something problematic or oppressive, you’re welcome to send an ask about it and I will listen and try to do better.

Obviously, we are the oppressive power structure:

On a personal level, being misogynist, ableist, homophobic, etc. is not just about feeling hatred for marginalised groups. Hatred is a symptom, and not everyone has that symptom. Sometimes it’s pity. Or creepy dehumanising fascination. Or indifference. Or ignorance and a self-absorbed refusal to learn to be better.
But it’s not about your feelings at all — it’s about actions and whether your actions support an oppressive system.
That’s why you can’t say, “I’m not misogynist! I love women!” and have people go, “well, you know your feelings best!” It’s not about your feelings. It’s about what you’re doing and if it’s harmful. And you do not get to decide if you’re harming others.

Here’s the thing: Most people are just trying to live their lives, pay their bills, and take care of their families. We don’t have the leisure to worry about the plight of “marginalised groups.” But feminists apparently don’t have bills to pay or families to take care of, so the “oppressive system” is all they ever worry about. Feminists believe that constantly worrying about this stuff makes them superior to the rest of us, who are all “misogynist, ableist, homophobic, etc.” because we have other things to do with our normal lives in the real world.

According to feminism, normal people are the problem, and “queer, genderweird woman-type people” are the solution.

In general the hierarchy is black trumps woman, gay trumps black, and Muslim trumps all.

Of course, the complexity arises when you mix categories, toss in a disability, allow for optional genders… and then you have Asians, who are of course a minority (outside Asia anyway) but who outperform just about everybody else (including white males). Asians get shafted in college admissions even more than straight white males, and yet cannot blame the patriarchy for it because the shafting is done by the SJWs for explicitly redistributive purposes. Jews don’t count at all unless they can claim a disability or sexual confusion, and they still have to denounce Israel to be admitted.

No doubt it’s a miserable business, trying to outmaneuver everyone else with carefully constructed tales of grievance and oppression, even if they are self inflicted. I’d feel sorry for them were I not employing all of my available contempt for them instead. Instead of trying to realize whatever potential they have, they’re wasting their effort trying to climb the greased pole of victimhood.

    Ya, that’s me. Indifferent.

You think that’s bad, I like (cheap) scotch with (fancy) root beer.

It’s logic, which you’re using, so you already have it, you oppressive patriarchal shitlord.

Good points. Jews have had to learn that lesson: one day you are riding high on the Victim rankings. The next day you’re a has-been Victim, replaced by the Victim-du-Jour. Now Jews are just a group of white people. Which is why some of them are now saying “Jews aren’t white”: They’re trying to get back into the Victim-Takes-All Sweepstakes. White homosexual men also had to learn that early on. I think they are way down in the Victim Rankings these days. Although, privileged white lesbians have played the game well. They’ve managed to retain some Victim Chips despite having no cards to play.

It’s funny that Jaegermeister is so big over here. In Germany, it’s what old people drink after a meal to help with “digestion.”

Yeah, my first thought was along those lines, too? Sheesh! How self-idiotized does one have to be to not be able to tell which of the only two sexes there are one is.

That’s why they have to keep coming up with new, and evermore granular, categories.

Yeah, but the Jager in Germany also has something the imported Jager doesn’t.

I know the younger crowd like “Jager Bombs”, a shot of Jager with Redbull energy drink.

    Had one once. Never again.

Considering they made a special device to supercool Jagermeister since it tastes so bad, I’m pretty sure that’s a “dare drink” to show how tough you are.

I have some schadenfreude from watching how Frankenstein’s SJW monster has turned on him with the anti-Israel BDS (boycott, disinvestment and sanctions) campaign.

You know, if you’re a small tribe and it always works out poorly when you try to manipulate your host nations, then maybe you should stop trying. Just a thought.

Kind of like cough syrup, but with a kick. It doesn’t taste too bad after the first one, but you don’t want to drink more than three or four shots of the stuff. DAMHIKT.

I HAVE to drink that, don’t you see, because my ancestors were highlanders. 😀

I just drink it for the sweet, sweet taste of cultural appropriation. 😉

I generally change from a heterosexual man to a lesbian trapped in a man’s body based on how many victimhood points I need at the moment.
