What Winding Webbs Woyalty Weaves

Jim Webb has never quite added up for me. Fellow IFNAG, political opportunist who beat George Allen, both for Senate in 2006, and for Most Boring Senator From Virginia, is supposedly about to feel something about an independent run.
The only motive I can figure out for this quixotic effort is to make up for Donald Trump removing himself as the New Perot. Perot, too, was an IFNAG, so in that sense Webb is totes apropos.
I was all set to vote for Trump as an antidope to Bush. That’s distinct from interest in membership among the Trumpenproletariat as such, speaking of dopes. Were Trump any less burdened by principle, as far as I can tell, he’d be Her Majesty Herself.
So, if Trump becomes the new Bush, and Webb is the new Trump, and Webb’s (accidental) purpose is to divide conservatives to usher in Her Majesty, I’m saying it might be time to vote for “a little sap in the executive branch.”

Just remember that Webb is a quitter now as he was as a SecNav member as as a Senator as well. So now he is quitting the Democratic party (again from some local sources where he is from as a kid), went to the GOP after the Democrats sold him up the river as a murder in an unpopular war, then he sold out from the GOP after he viewed them as war mongers with the OEF/OIF ops. He is a weird and interesting person. I would say that the best book to start to get to understand him would be Robert Timberg’s book “The Nightingale’s Song” which is about the Iran-Contra Affair, but spends a large amount of the text on Jim Webb and how he seemed the most honorable person in the group of that class of Naval Academy class to have graduated.

Guy’s on his 3d marriage. Restless man. The current number was born the year he married his first wife.
October 20th, 2015 @ 9:14 am
I’m trying to figure out how Webb is supposed to divide the conservative vote. He doesn’t really have a lot of name recognition, and those that DO recognize him are going to remember he was running and debating as a Democrat. I just don’t see him as a Ross Perot spoiler candidate.
Where things will get interesting is if Biden enters the race. Expect to see a new round of interest in Hillary’s emails if he formally declares.
October 20th, 2015 @ 9:32 am
Divide what conservative vote? This country voted RINO Mitt Romney for the Republican nomination during the last voting cycle and today pro-abort, pro-socialized medicine, pro-Hillary Trump is the leading Republican nominee.
In the upcoming election, I’m voting for whoever the best candidate is in whatever country abroad I’ve moved to. To hell with America.
October 20th, 2015 @ 10:11 am
Most of those countries, in contrast to America probably won’t let you vote. Here if you’re a Third World pissant with AIDS and 7 “anchor babies”, a Medicaid card, a food stamp card, Obamacare and a subsidized pad, you’re the epitome of nobility. This probably won’t end well.
October 20th, 2015 @ 10:28 am
Frankly I’m not sure how that’s different from America.

Nothing like running away when there’s a War to be won. Bye.
October 20th, 2015 @ 2:20 pm
Jim Webb has a head shaped like a Peanut Peeps.
October 20th, 2015 @ 4:42 pm
Yes, even the most conservative Democrat would still be a RINO, and RINO’s aren’t polling very well.
October 20th, 2015 @ 8:40 pm
I am sure both of Jim’s supporters are stunned.
Every other American is asking, “Jim who?”
October 21st, 2015 @ 10:06 am
I like Webb, and he’s definitely the only Democrat I’d actually consider voting for (part of that is Commonwealth tribalism, but still), but even so, what IS the point of a third party run for Webb? He won’t even outpoll the Constitution Party.
October 21st, 2015 @ 11:30 am
He is the only one who I think will do anything about that cluster we call the VA healthcare system
