CNN Suffers Psychiatric Crisis After Unanimous Supreme Court Slaps Down Colorado’s Election-Rigging Scheme

Watching CNN (so you don’t have to) is usually a chore for me, but today it was unusually pleasant to witness the anguish as Jim Acosta, Dana Bash and their panelists bemoaned the unanimous Supreme Court ruling that struck down the effort by Colorado Democrats to ban Donald Trump from the ballot in that state. Roger Kimball with the news:
The bottom line? “The judgment of the Colorado Supreme Court therefore cannot stand.” The cherry on top: it was a unanimous decision. “All nine Members of the Court agree with that result.” Ergo: “The judgment of the Colorado Supreme Court is reversed,” quod erat faciendum, or, in the words of the document, It is so ordered.
Of course, it was always absurd that the anti-Trump brigade should pretend to save democracy by keeping Trump off the ballot because otherwise the people might vote for him. It was just another example of the malodorous fact that, for these people, “democracy” means “rule by Democrats,” not rule of the people.
(Hat-tip: Ed Driscoll at Instapundit.) This was predictable, of course, but the fact that the outcome was easily foreseen did not soften the trauma suffered by CNN’s talking heads. Ever since the ruling came down, they’ve been doing talk-therapy sessions disguised as “news analysis.”

CNN’s Jim Acosta bemoans the Supreme Court ruling Congress has the power to determine if a candidate is eligible to be on the ballot.
“There are members of Congress who are never going to do anything to make life difficult for Donald Trump.” pic.twitter.com/6U3kuYChsq

To summarize: “We have to rig the election by keeping the Republican nominee off the ballot because otherwise, ‘democracy’ will be endangered.” Or words to that effect — they engage in a lot of tendentious rhetoric about Trump being guilty of “insurrection” to conceal their actual meaning. Truly, they are “fake news.” Never have their roles as “Democratic Operatives With Bylines” been more obvious.
