FMJRA 2.0: Giant Killers

Well, we lost the series opener at the Polo Grounds (Carl Morton getting stuck with his second loss) but came back strong in the second and third games. Even without the designated hitter, the Senators beat the devil and the living God out of Mike Corkins and Matt Wilcox for eleven runs and added one more off Steve Mingori while Spaceman Lee held the Jints to just three runs and went the distance for the wind. Game Three wasn’t as hit-happy; we only scored six runs off Dick Bosman and Charlie Hudson, but it was good enough for Jim Kaat to get his first win and Bob Johnson his first save. We’re 3-6, one game behind the Red Sox in the cellar of the AL Beta Division, but a lot more optimistic than we were last week.
