FMJRA 2.0: Still Stuck In The Ruts

It was another .500 week for the home team – we lost two of three to the Cardinals, and it would have been a sweep except for a six-run rally in the sixth against Orlando Pena, which gave Jim Kaat his first win in relief. The shoe was on the other foot when the Tribe came to town, though – Pat Dobson lost Game 1 3-4, but in Game 2 the boys rallied for two in the bottom of the 10th to win it for Roger Nelson, who’d come in to relieve Kaat; in Game 3 Bucky Dent, Jim Hargrove and Dave Winfield combined for two runs in the bottom of the ninth to give Charlie Hough his fifth win. So we finish the week 3-3, 31-41 overall – three games behind the third-place Brewers and 6.5 behind the division-leading Twins. Next week we’re facing the Expos (41-28) on Tuesday and the Pirates (26-46) on Friday, so unless things go badly wrong we’ll have another .500 week, or maybe a 4-2 week if we can sweep the Bucs.
