Another 3-2 week for the Senators as we cling to second place in the Beta Division. We took two out of three at Fenway, losing only to Don Gullett as the Sox pounded poor Steve Renko for seven runs on their way to a 10-1 blowout win. Then it was off to Anaheim where the Angels scraped out a 2-1 win against Pat Dobson, only to fall 6-3 as we scored four runs off Tommy John and got two more off the Angels’ bullpen. So here we are at 60-64, nine games behind the Twins and five ahead of Pete’s Brewers, who we’ll face Tuesday before going to KC to take on the Royals. This could be the week we hit .500.
