Voodoo Obamanomics: More Creepy Tales of the Undead Zombie Health Care Plan

Posted on | February 23, 2010 | 19 Comments

While we were covering Scott Brown’s campaign in Massachusetts, Dan Collins showed me The Zombie Survival Guide, which would come in mighty handy now as we watch the remorseless efforts of Democrats to revivify the ghastly corpse of ObamaCare:

[T]he Obama Administration released a description of its health care proposal, and CBO has already received several requests to provide a cost estimate for that proposal. . . . [P]reparing a cost estimate requires very detailed specifications of numerous provisions, and the materials that were released this morning do not provide sufficient detail on all of the provisions. Therefore, CBO cannot provide a cost estimate for the proposal without additional detail, and, even if such detail were provided, analyzing the proposal would be a time-consuming process that could not be completed this week.

Brilliant, eh? Obama, Pelosi and Reid think they can cram this fiscally vague new plan through Congress under the “reconcilliation” rules, which don’t require 60 votes for cloture. And check out this C-SPAN interview with Obama’s health-care spin queen, professional liar Linda Douglass:

Steve Scully. What’s the price tag of the president’s proposal?
Linda Douglass: Well, you know, it’s hard to say . . .

What was the first thing Linda Douglass did after she left National Journal and joined the Obama spin squad? Request back pay.

Jeffrey Lord of The American Spectator has compared Douglass to Arthur Sylvester, the ex-reporter who became Robert MacNamara’s Saigon-based spokesman during the Vietnam War, and it is an apt comparison. Just like MacNamara’s deceptive Vietnam policy, Obama’s health-care policy is so fundamentally mendacious that no honest person could defend it in good conscience.

When the White House proposes a massive new entitlement program and then requires its spokeswoman to claim that the administration can provide no estimate of the cost because the plan hasn’t yet been scored by CBO . . . Well, my dear Doctor Watson, this could be an important clue.

If Linda Douglass had a scintilla of integrity, she never would have joined this crooked Chicago gang. However, given that she is self-evidently a devious bitch, I suspect it won’t be too long before she quits and gets a fat contract for a tell-all book in which she plunges a cutlery rack full of knives into the backs of her patrons.

Meanwhile, we’ll just have to find a way to destroy this undead zombie health plan. Anybody got an M2 flamethrower handy?

UPDATE: Speaking of C-SPAN, where’s the “transparency” here? Obama, Pelosi and Reid are obviously engaged in secret strategy negotiations that aren’t being televised. Let the Cameras In!

UPDATE II: Just noticed that Allahpundit cited my American Spectator buddy Philip Klein. Perhaps the new corporate overlords at Hot Air demanded an end to Allah’s policy of never linking anyone remotely associated with me?

Whatever the explanation, Phil is the absolute ace on health-care policy. Last year he published a long article in the print edition of the Spectator pointing out that nationalizing health care would by necessity result in a drastic diminution of our defense budget.

Team Obama wants to make America like Sweden in more ways than one, you see.

Funny you mention the zombie survival guide. My son is a HUGE zombie fan and read the book from cover to cover. He is also reading a series of books that actually tell the story of a viral attack that changed everything into zombies (including fish and birds). That said, it prompted me to write a post about how the lefties with their elitist inside NY mentality would be the first to be eaten.

Bear with me here. My young son is a long time fan of zombies. Zombie movies, folklore, comic books and novels. He loves the living dead. He’s not a fan of fast moving zombies or zombies with a brain (Both I agree violate the first law of zombies- their strength is in their overwhelming persistence. Seriously, they’re dead. How can they reason or sprint. It kills the whole concept of being a zombie. What’s next zombie NASCAR and jet pilots?). We always get a kick out of watching how the characters react to being confronted by the living dead. Some panic and fold right away. Others refuse to admit to the problem. Still others wait for help to arrive and get eaten long before that happens. The last group just picks up whatever is handy and starts killing zombies.

So, what does this have to do with liberals? Simple. I’m convinced the first people eaten in a zombie attack are those same dumbassed liberals we see and hear bitching about conservatives as being unenlightened. They poo-poo this and that. Screech about how they would do it differently if only that pesky Constitution thing would get out of the way. They preen and puff, huff and snicker, all the while the living dead is bearing down on them. This is not an academic exercise! This is a worldwide meltdown, caused by the same forces that now claim they can solve it, only if we follow them down the same zombie infested alley that got half of the world killed last time.
