Breitbart: ‘Fire the First Shot. Bring It On. Because I Know Who’s on Our Side.’

Posted on | September 19, 2011 | 39 Comments

Da Tech Guy covered Andrew Breitbart’s appearance in Lexington, Massachusetts:

While we can’t hear the lady’s question — evidently it had something to do with violence perpetrated by SEIU goons — Breitbart’s answer has gotten a lot of attention from his enemies:

“I’m under attack all the time. You see it on Twitter . . . They call me gay. I mean, it’s just — they’re vicious, the death threats and everything. So there are times when I’m not thinking as clearly as I should, and in those unclear moments, I always think to myself: ‘Fire the first shot. Bring it on.’ Because I know who’s on our side. And they know that they can only win a rhetorical or propaganda war. They cannot win. We outnumber them in this country and we have the guns.”

This is, after all, a statement of fact. Breitbart is merely explaining what crosses his mind in those “unclear moments” when he’s receiving death threats and being made the object of the Left’s (rather ironic) homophobia. So if the Left wants to “fire the first shot,” Breitbart is saying, there can be no doubt as to who would triumph in the resulting conflict.

Some people can’t deal with this blunt statement of reality. And there is a place for people who can’t deal with reality: Little Green Footballs.

Yeah. Doesn’t everybody?

Da Tech Guy has more thoughts on the LGF punchline.

Wingnut double standards on display… see the reactions: Jim Hoffa vs Breitbart. Yeah, ‘liberals don’t have a sense of humour‘…we get that.

We all should be on the alert about rhetoric. It’s being used to great effect by the extreme right wing of the Republican party to cast the Democratic party on an unpatriotic light and win supporters for its pro-wealthy, pro-Christian agenda.

They do this by using rhetorical analogies, definitions, and explanations for semantic character assassination of Democratic buzz words such as liberal, social programs, affirmative action, socialized medicine, secular, etc.

Don’t listen/read lightly, words are weapons, words kill.

It seems more like he was fantasizing about getting killed by liberals.  Of course, liberals can’t handle nuance like that, especially once the g-word comes out (the second baddest one, in this case).

It’s not that liberals don’t have a sense of humor.  It’s just that that liberals refuse to accept that people in the United States have a right to self-defense.

Tsk tsk!  Such willful ignorance, Anamika!  Tsk tsk!

Okay, but why did he say “they call me gay”? Why not, “they call me a queer” or “faggot”, or at the very least “they call me a homosexual”. Why not “Sodomite”. We’re always going to be playing at a disadvantage as long as we agree to the terms the Left imposes. And that’s including the execrable “Ms.”

I used to have a lefty troll who gave me all kinds of problems, until I went through Intense Debate and had him banned from my blog. He used to call me every name in the book, made all kinds of threats, and said all kinds of things, some so vile even I won’t repeat it. But if I really got him pissed off he would call me fag, cocksucker, you name it. That’s par for the course with these hypocrites.

Oh, and of course he used to call me racist. So I found his Facebook page and out of curiosity looked at his pics, and believe it or not, there this piece of shit is sitting at a drum set, and what does he have on his wall behind him? A confederate flag.

I’m just going to stop it at this before I say some shit that will have the FBI knocking at my door, but suffice it to say I put these fucks on a lower level than I do Islamic radicals, and that’s pretty damn low.

What? How in the fuck does the Republican Party “cast the Democratic party (sic) on (sic) an unpatriotic light”? The Democrats aren’t fucking traitors because I say they are. The Democrats are treasonous little bitches because of what they say and do. Don’t blame me and others for just pointing that out.

Anamika, you really need to learn the difference between defense and offense. I realize you’re all about offense, since you give it every day…

When you understand the difference between Hoffa saying “Take them out” and Captain Parker saying “If they mean to have a war, let it begin here” in 1775 at Lexington Green… you won’t be Anamika anymore.

As do I – since they’ve carefully and repeatedly earned the distinction. (We’re Left Wingers! We put the “stink” in “distinction”! No, probably won’t fly…) I’ve had the occasional spontaneous mental image of kicking Michael Moore in the nuts, but for the most part I share Breitbart’s concerns about being targeted for actual violence by startlingly non-fringe lefties.

There’s no double standard. He’s saying that if Hoffa’s side shoots first, his side will shoot back. No doubt if you read the death threats Breitbart receives, many of them are threats to shoot him.

I blame it on the popularity of cricket in Britain and its former colonies, where I’m guessing Anamika was born or resides.

Cricket appears so convoluted that maybe no one knows which side is on offese versus which side is on defense.

Historically, the vanguard left, in the interest of the “common man,” would seize your property, set up a nice relocation and reeducation plan for your household, and – if necessary – put you in a concentration camp, so that you wouldn’t harm yourself or others (i.e., so you won’t intefere with their utoptian schemes).

Of course, if you made noises about resisting them before they arrived in your village, your susequent death would be your fault because you initiated the aggression with your threats to protect your “private” property that never rightfully belonged to you in the first place. In that sense, talk of self-defense was (still is?) considered a form of violent preemption in the minds of leftists.

I doubt that our dear Anamika is that old fashioned. She probably doesn’t realize that that’s the implications of her logic.

There are a lot more gun-owners, and folks who have guns among the left than we on the Right give credit to.

The NRA doesn’t endorse Dems ‘just because.’ Progressives support gun suppression for one reason: they have them, and they aren’t afraid to use them.

That’s a damn good point. Too many people assume the Left are in favor of gun control because they’re fuzzy wuzzy peaceniks, but that’s a small minority of them. Most of them want gun control for the same reason the FOP want it, because they want to establish a police state. But nooooo, they’re not fascists.

Breitbart is advancing the shared fantasy that the Confederacy shall rise again. The unwashed corn fed barely educated rural red possesses none of the advantages needed to dominate the large, productive and educated blue blocks that would dominate a civil conflict.
