Gingrich Uses ‘Accountable’ In The Context Of The Obama Administration

by Smitty (via PuffHo)

“The president says he has full confidence in Secretary Chu despite [the Solyndra] scandal,” Gingrich wrote on his website. “What kind of confidence can we have in a president who refuses to hold his cabinet officers accountable?”

Ha ha ha.

“As President, I would have fired Secretary Chu for so grossly mismanaging taxpayer dollars,” Gingrich continued.

Oh, come on, Newt: you know that’s not how Chicago-upon-Potomac works. Let’s review:

  1. The government borrows public money via moronic legislation and Democrat tools give it to idiots with low animal cunning.
  2. Their low animal cunning dominates initially, and the idiots give the kickback to the Democrats.
  3. Then the idiocy kicks in, and the idiotic ventures end, well, idiotically.
  4. The Democrats blame Bush horoscopes Tea Parties.
  5. ???
  6. Profit!

Newt cares not a fig for the Underpants Gnome Administration’s methodology, however:

My 21st Century Contract with America calls for moving power out of Washington and back to the states and the people, to reduce the arbitrary power of federal bureaucrats. It also calls for a complete overhaul of the federal government’s work rules, processes and bureaucracies using proven private sector waste reduction and productivity improvement techniques like Lean Six Sigma.”

Yeah, the Contract with America is to Newt what RomneyCare is to Bruce Campbell’s political doppelgänger. We need neither a Contract with America, nor RomneyCare: we need leaders who grasp the mission to load-shed the pile of cruft that is DC’s overreach.

Update: Surber ‘lanche!

In Chicago, that sort of “accountability” is a feature, not a bug.

Whenever Gingrich starts making sense, he throws in some of his recent favorite jargon like “Lean Six Sigma,” which was semi-trendy a few years back.  All it amounts to is an attempt to use nomenclature in quality control management.  Then it pretends the new jargon like “black belt” or “green belt” can be taught, which created a whole new consulting industry to make those certifications.

If one size fits all no matter what you are producing, maybe this stuff is for you.  Otherwise, just remember it will be far more expensive than effective in letting some jargon-spouting salesman near your processes.

“we need leaders who grasp the mission to load-shed the pile of cruft that is DC’s overreach.”

That kind of person is unlikely to seek the job of going to DC to administer/manage said pile of cruft.

It’s sort of like trying to curb prostitution by choosing a pimp to supervise the city’s most notorious stroll.

He’ll meet you on the couch after Pelosi goes to bed.  If Callista finds out . . . well, that’s what Tiffany charge accounts are for, aren’t they?

Hmm…When I heard that, I figured Chu was now unofficially on his way out.  Isn’t that what usually happens when you have to issue statements of “…has my full confidence?”

Can anyone remember an example where a President talked about how much confidence or support an underling had and then survived?  Also, considering the prodigiousness of this under-bus-throwing administration, I assume they’re just waiting for more of a crescendo before using Chu’s culpability to their maximum political advantage.
