Paging Dr. Hendrick–A Surgeon’s Devastating Appraisal Of ObamaCare

by Smitty (h/t Dr. Wolf)

This lengthy clip is narrated somewhat dryly by Daniel Cox, M.D., and focuses on surgeons, yet is quite good:

Going Galt: When Will Surgeons Say Enough is Enough? from Daniel Cox on Vimeo.

I’ve screen capped the Thomas Hendrick quotation for your convenience:

And here is the Medicus survey slide, one among many devastating slides in the pitch:

Delivery from Dr. Cox is in a bland tone, which is a feature. The facts sell themselves.

One surmises that the Democratic strategy is to rely on the American non-attention span, hoping that the people will just ‘kind of forget’ the whole mess in time for November.

I was in attendance at the Moran health care forum featured at the mid-point. What a pile of hooey that was.

Refusing elective surgery to lawyers? As strikes go, that would be kinda funny.

Dr. Cox ends the video on such a positive, patriotic note that I am brought to tears. Well worth your time.

Too bad they can’t clone a little Reagan commonsense and graft it into Obama. Of course, as shown by Reagan’s kids, his adopted son got the common sense and his biological boy seemed to get short changed in that regard.

Any of us who have seen Europe, ordinary people in Europe, the size of their living space, the docile patience required to endure their health non-care, and most of all the way that their social classes are set in concrete, would say that socialism is a failure, beyond any doubt. We all know quite well that it will also fail here in America, too. Our two great fears are that it will fail slowly, so that people get accustomed to having less, learn to jeer at people who complain, rather than take up their plaints and try to make real improvements, or that violence will be used to force our acceptance. If the failure is quick, the rebound will be as swift. Even a violent repression will be insufficient to defeat us. So, yes, I do want Barry to fail, of course I do. He wants to do terrible things to us. However, I want, most of all, for him to fail soon.

This is a fantastic presentation for an overworked trauma surgeon in training.

Agree with Michael Adams. If Obama fails slowly, as Medicaid and Social Security did, then our ideas don’t have a chance: the failure is too far removed from its cause for people to see the connection. I would much rather that this turn out like a teenager drinking an entire bottle of tequila than a teenager having a cigarette: it’s much easier to convince the person that there’s a problem.

Obama wants to create something like the British NHS. A big difference is that in 1945, the idea of universal health service was very popular. The Democratic mandate is nothing like that the Labour mandate in 1945. For most Britons, the Beveridge Report provided a light to guide them to the post-war world. beyond the dreariness of war. The Tories had nothing like this to offer, or even to counter it, which is why Churchill’s campaign speeches were so disappointing. But most Americans don’t feel the need for anything like this.

You could apply Dr. Hendrick’s quote to about any profession endangered by government takeover. Quite an impact that presentation made.
