Christine O’Donnell Campaign Catches Fire, National Media Taking Notice

Posted on | July 23, 2010 | 12 Comments

LAS VEGAS — In the three days ago since I reported on Christine O’Donnell’s grassroots conservative Senate challenge to Delaware RINO Mike Castle, more national media have been paying attention. Today, Kyle Peterson of the Daily Caller reports:

Christine O’Donnell is going on the offensive in her bid for the Delaware Senate seat vacated by Vice President Joe Biden, in a race that could open up a new front in the war between Tea Partiers and those they describe as ‘RINOs,’ or Republicans in Name Only.
O’Donnell, considered an underdog for the GOP nomination, took a swing at her opponent, Republican Rep. Mike Castle, in a release sent to supporters and the media Thursday.
“Mike Castle’s voting record proves beyond a reasonable doubt that he is for special interests, against the free market, anti-Second Amendment, pro-abortion and he’s even for sanctuary cities. It’s a preposterous record,” O’Donnell said. “Calling himself a Republican is borderline schizophrenic, confused about his own political identity.” . . .

Read the whole thing. Christine O’Donnell is here at Right Online and making a strong impression on the activists in attendance. Of course, she had us at “hello,” but it’s nice to see others begin to acknowledge the significance of the Sept. 14 primary in Delaware.

While you’re there, could you see your way to asking the bloggers there to interview Jim Rutledge, the candidate for the Republican nomination for the Senate who can beat Barbara Mikulski? Call me if you need the contact info. There’s a big new variable that no one is taking into account in considering whether she’s vulnerable in 2010 and that is social media, including bloggers. What bloggers can do is pour some bright sunshine on how Sen. Mikulski’s support of the Obama/Progressive agenda has destroyed jobs in Maryland and find out why her voting attendance record is so poor. We also have the enthusiasm advantage.

Castle is definitely a RINO – he sports a lifetime ACU rating of 53. But he wins the seat easily.

O’Donnell is better on the issues, but wasn’t the last Republican to win statewide besides Castle Bill Roth, who served several terms?

As I’m sure our lefty trolls will attest, even their old Uncle Joe was patient enough to establish full control before he began purging the ranks.

“Uncle Joe” won’t be a problem if the people go out and vote with their Constitution. The only way to cause the Biden dynasty to lose control is if the people force it to.
