HOPA You Understand. . .

No matter how clear cut your case for a righteous tell-off, you’re still advised to eschew such.
Why? Unless the young lady in the picture series is going to start her own business, she’d better clearly articulate at the next interview that she’s not into recreational insubordination.
I say this as someone who has, let us say, been ‘un-helped’ by a tendency to be a smart alec.
Hanging out with Stacy McCain sure makes it easy to spot the mote in her eye, even around the beam in my own. 😉
Breaking Update: Was it all a prank?
The story showed up this morning on theChive.com, a dude-centric site run by brothers John and Leo Resig, who own a series of photo/humor sites. (That’s Leo on the left.) Before that, the Resigs ran a site called Derober, which features doctored photos of celebrities in their underwear.
And Derober’s moment in the spotlight came back in December 2007, when it made up a story about Donald Trump leaving a $10,000 tip on a $82.27 bill. The story was convincing enough to fool Fox News and the New York Post (both of which are owned by News Corp., which also owns this site).
So Jenny is a fake, too. Right, Leo Resig?
No, Resig says over the phone. “Jenny’s very real.”
Really? Really, Resig says.
He says Jenny is with his brother John at this very moment, and that the three of them are trying to figure out the best way to identify her and tell her story.

Yeah, it is generally not a good idea to burn your bridges…
But at least she did not pull the emergency chute on the plane.
Actually I thought she did a pretty effective take down job on Spencer. If any of what she said is true, I suspect he might be in the cross hairs if he is not the owner of that company.
Sadly she is probably not worrying about her next job but figuring she will get 99 weeks of quasi-paid unemployment leave. A young single person, with out a lot of debt, could probably get by on it.

Does she have grounds for a sexual harassment lawsuit?
Calling a subordinate a HOPA would be grounds for discipline at the very least, where I work.

@Randy,
IANAL, but another backronym for HOPA would not be hard to construct.
Also, don’t feed the sharks.
Thirdly, if she gets an entertainment job out of this, or even her picture with Levi Johnson, the fifteen minutes will probably be enough.

lol, you’re kidding, right? Did you see that girl’s picture? She’ll get hired somewhere, no problem.

@Brian,
I saw, and, if you begin to get the impression that we’re all dimple and no product, stunts like this are unhelpful.
Be natural, be lovely, be productive.

She will get a job. I know people who did far worse things and bounced back. What she did was actually kind of creative.
But smitty is right, burning bridges is usally a very a bad career choice.

Even if it’s a hoax, it’s deliciously funny.

It was a hoax after all, confirmed on The Chive by “Jenny” (aka Elyse Porterfield) and the Resig brothers.

I intentionally burned a bridge at a job so I wouldn’t be tempted into returning.
Sometimes, one has to make sure a door is closed.
