Unsure About Barney Frank’s Conversion

Conservative Girl puts a religious spin on Frank’s awakening, but let’s not overplay this quotation:

“I hope by next year we’ll have abolished Fannie and Freddie,….it was a great mistake to push lower-income people into housing they couldn’t afford and couldn’t really handle once they had it….I had been too sanguine about Fannie and Freddie.”

If Barney doesn’t realize that the Community Reinvestment Act was a Tenth Amendment violation first, and the precipitator of economic ruin second, then he’s just as likely to replace it with an even worse disaster.
Something like the Federal American National Neighborhood Yard Protection / Advancement Community Keepers (FANNY PACK), for example.

What is Barney leaning more Fannie than Freddie now a days? That is not a conversion.

I was just impressed he admitted it. I am wondering if Dodd will do the same now that his career is over.

The 10th amendment? Isn’t that the Good and Welfare Clause?

Neither Dodd nor any other elected Democrat is going to abandon government as a solution. As they always have, they are going to adopt the “isn’t that unfortunate” position for a year while pursuing government as a solution elsewhere in the economy.
