What’s Up With Bob Etheridge and Cows?
Posted on | September 13, 2010 | 33 Comments
For the record, no one has suggested — not even so much as hinted — that Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-N.C.) has a relationship with his cattle that some might call “unnatural.” But when a congressman leaves a meeting with his constituents because he wants to spend “quality time” with his cows . . . well, Mary Katharine Ham certainly seems suspicious:
Etheridge then left the event an hour early, leaving only his staff behind, because he got word from his wife Faye that his cows had gotten out. As one local blogger put it, “Bob Etheridge presumably spends extended periods living in DC, so one would assume a standard procedure for caring for his cows in his absence would be in place.” . . .
Why would these cows be trying to escape Bob Etheridge’s farm? Does he abuse his cows the way he abused that kid with the video camera?
Again, it must be emphasized that there have been no formal accusations that Etheridge’s livestock suffer a twilight existence of shame and fear. Mary Katharine Ham is just askin’ questions, is all.
Meanwhile, one courageous woman has promised to end Etheridge’s degrading exploitation of North Carolina’s cows and taxpayers:
RENEE ELLMERS for U.S. CONGRESS

Had Etheridge been present, he never would have won.

Way back in the day, when I was in High School, if you told a guy that “The Barn Door is open”, it means something.
If I’d told someone that “The Barn Door is open and the Cow is out”, it’d have probably been a fight to the death right there, assuming that I wasn’t addressing Barney Frank.
Since I’m not from Massachussetts, and have never lived there? (FWIW, I Graduated from High School in Montana!)
That old guy has a problem, by my lights. And his cattle are the least of it.

I discovered by love of cattle when I served as a spy during the war.

Renee needs to get moving, Bob’s people are out putting signs along 70 between Garner and Smithfield. She had plenty of signage out leading up to the primary. Out of three she was my third choice. Her two opponents had more fire, I voted for Dietrich who told me he’d move to abolish the Dept. of Edu. when I talked to him April 15 in Raleigh. At a forum here in Clayton she mentioned something about working with our friends across the isle. That being said I talked to Bob last August at a Healthcare Townhall. He is not more reassuring when sober.

Entrenched incumbent congressmen often devolve into one of several definable types, which can almost be defined like Afghan tribes and often cross party lines. Etheridge is one of the real jerks – like Obey and Pelosi.
Giving this guy the boot would be one of the sweeter moments of Election Night.
