Vitriolic Rhetoric, Anyone?

Posted on | January 11, 2011 | 20 Comments

“Republicans don’t believe in the imagination, partly because so few of them have one, but mostly because it gets in the way of their chosen work, which is to destroy the human race and the planet. Human beings, who have imaginations, can see a recipe for disaster in the making; Republicans, whose goal in life is to profit from disaster and who don’t give a hoot about human beings, either can’t or won’t. Which is why I personally think they should be exterminated before they cause any more harm.”
Michael Feingold, Village Voice, Jan. 13 2004

That’s just one of the “Top 10 Examples of Liberal Hate” cited by Human Events and you should read the whole thing.

Strange to say, that particular example didn’t occur in a political column, but in a theater review. I’d love to take a moment to “tone down the rhetoric,” I’m too busy destroying the human race and the planet while trying to avoid my own extermination. Work, work, work . . .

I, too, should be destroying the human race and the planet. Maybe later, after Alec Baldwin and I stone Henry Hyde to death and kill his wife and children.

Michael’ Feingold’s photo and writings should be Wikipedia’s gold standard entry for inquiries into ‘projection’.

I can’t believe I am even at this site.

So where are the videos of you all slaying endangered species and harmless forest animals with your guns and then feasting on their flesh?

And where is the part about sending gays and Jews to re-education camps to be straightened out and taught to love Jesus?

  • Adobe_Walls

Yes hot and cold running vitriolic rhetoric in every room.

If you want to come watch me slay animals and eat them, I’ll send you an invitation for a barbecue. Do you like Raccoon?

And for the record, I have firearms because I know that you leftoids will be the ones trying to send me and mine to the camps, if you get the chance.

But it’ll get expensive, and your minions will quit on you fairly soon, if they start getting shot.

You won’t do it yourself, because you would not risk your own hide. Such being the case, it’s not going to happen. Get over it, and learn to live in a free Country. You aren’t going to get to change it.

    And there you go.

So do you often go off on tangents in your theatrical reviews or is that just part of your “thought” process? Because, evidently, when you made the ludicrous statement in question, you didn’t have your “thinking cap” on.

You left out the part where I said:

This opinion is presumably not shared by Foreman; you can gauge the breadth of his imaginative compassion from his willingness to extend it even toward George W. Bush, idiot scion of a genetically criminal family that should have been sterilized three generations ago.

This is the rough trade language we love in New York. Keep this up and Michael Musto might show up here!

Michael, I’d be happy to show you a hunting video, if that’s what you really want. Just hold on.

Careful — you’re heading for the deep end of the intellectual kiddie pool with that one. No wonder you’ve been stuck on the same beat for half a decade…

Just read one of your theatrical reviews. Damn, they must pay you by the word, because they sure as hell don’t pay you for the quality of the content.

The best part about liberals: everything they write sounds like satire written by conservatives about liberals.

Wowzers. One finds that words fail in the face of this conjuntion of willful stupid and hate. I really don’t know what to say to this, but smile nervously, with a touch of pity, and slowly step back to go on about my business.

I suppose I should be able to confront this, but its not in me. Other evils, perhaps, but this one, I just stare at helplessly.
