MINNEAPOLIS
By now, you’ve heard the amazing buzz about The Undefeated, the new documentary about Sarah Palin. There was a special screen last night at the Right Online conference. Trust me, this is going to be a must-see blockbuster, a film that will change the way you think about Palin. Here is my interview with the movie’s director, Stephen K. Bannon:

Thanks to Melissa Clouthier for arranging the interview.

It won’t change the way her more ardent supporters or detractors feel, but it might change the way moderates and independents feel about her, which is what’s important. The key though is getting them to see the film. That’s the problem right there. People that have mixed feelings about her unfortunately might not care enough to make the effort to see it.

I’ll link this sometime later on today.

Could this be in theaters if she is an official candidate? Equal time or whatever?
As this film is part of an image rehabilitation preparatory to a presidential run it seems wise to await it’s reception before announcing. If it flops that would be more harmful after than before becoming a candidate.

  • http://thepagantemple.blogspot.com/ ThePaganTemple

Theaters don’t have any obligation to adhere to equal time laws, unless I am very sadly mistaken. That’s mostly for public broadcasters, on the grounds they are using public airwaves. I think she might be just waiting to see what the reaction to the film is before she makes an announcement, like you say. That makes sense.

  • http://2011.ak4mc.us/ McGehee

The phrase to consider here is not “equal time” but “in-kind contribution.”

Don’t think for a minute the same kind of people that tried overtly to bankrupt her while she was governor, wouldn’t sue over this if she runs.

  • http://thepagantemple.blogspot.com/ ThePaganTemple

Well when you get right down to it I’m surprised Republican voters aren’t sued for having unkind thoughts and hateful intentions. It wouldn’t really surprise me that much.

  • smd

I’ve heard speculation that she is delaying any official announcement till after this movie runs, for that very reason.  Also, I’ve heard that the two-year statute of limitations for new lawsuits relating to her term as Governor will pass on July 9.

  • http://thepagantemple.blogspot.com/ ThePaganTemple

The RINO commentators on Fox must be getting tired of waiting for her to make a decision. They’re starting on Bachmann now. Here’s what you’re going to be hearing from these pricks over the next couple of weeks-

“Ohhh, we Republicans should stick together, if we can’t stick together Obama is going to win. The Tea-Party people should come into the tent with the rest of us and agree to support a nominee the people will support, the independents, the conservative Democrats not somebody like Bachman who the people won’t support. We own the party, damn you all, you Tea Party people aren’t really a party, YOU’RE JUST A BUNCH OF PEOPLE! WAAAAHHHHHH”

The requests to see Bannons film on Sarah is overwhelming. America wants to see there next President

Attitudes like that, third parties make.

Exactly, and people should let them know that in no uncertain terms. They’re getting greedy and power hungry. Well, I know, they always have been, but since the 2010 elections their mouths are really watering and they’re scared to death they won’t get to reap the rewards of the Tea Party’s work. So the Tea Party folks should just content to get a pat on the head and a cordial invitation to just shut up and stand aside from this point on. You know, now that you’ve done your work, you should stand aside and let the “professionals” run things.

Waiting for this film to run for a couple months would allow time for the leftists and assorted fungi IYKWIMAITYD an opportunity to look more ridiculous by protesting the movie in spite of the fact that the subject isn’t running for office.

If Sarah Palin chooses not to enter the 2012 race or is not on the GOP 2012 ticket, this film “The Undefeated” will be a powerful campaign weapon that can be used by Team Obama and media to attack the Republican Party.

Most of the villains portrayed in the film are Republican establishment leadership, both Alaska and national. And they are Palin’s main nemesis, trying to defeat and suppress her in every stage of her career. If Palin is not on the GOP ticket, the media and Team Obama would use this film to tell people that the Republican establshment has yet again suppress Palin from running the race.

Worse, people who watch this movie will compare Palin to the GOP ticket. “How do you compare yourself to Palin as portrayed in The Undefeated”, movie-goers will unavoidably ask the GOP candidate this question. With doubt, their character and political story will pale in comparsion with Palin’s. And how do you expect people to vote for the GOP ticket.

I can predict that if Sarah Palin is not the GOP ticket, “The Undefeated” will most likely win an Academy Awards and many others in 2012 so as to help Team Obama to suppress conservative voters turnout.

Those are some good points, but facts are facts. The establishment GOP has indeed treated her shabbily, so if this film makes them look bad in a way that’s truthful and forthright, whose fault is that? Their own, maybe?

And its not just Palin. Look at how Christine O’Donnell was treated in Delaware, by both the Delaware GOP and by certain persons and officials in the national party. In other words, this is bigger than one person, this is actually a systemic problem that cuts across state lines and is a national problem.

And as I pointed out in a comment above, its still going on. Now that Michelle Bachmann is coming up in the polls and looks to be a major player in the coming primary season, the establishment guns are loaded and have her in their cross-hairs. They’ve already started the meme on Fox News, which these days seems to have three RINO commentators for every one honest conservative, if not morel. I saw it with my own two eyes, just yesterday, where an establishment Republican commentator spoke in agreement with his Democratic counterpart as to what was best for the Republican Party in the way of a candidate. Michelle Bachmann was singled out as an example of a candidate who would turn off independents and conservative Democrats, while somebody like Romney or Huntsman is generally portrayed as the candidates who give the Obama team nightmares. It’s so obvious and so blatant it makes my blood boil.

So what do you propose we do about this? Just sit back and accept it? Maybe you can explain exactly why it is that every time the GOP succeeds in anointing their chosen candidate, be it a Dole or a McCain, they lose. How is it that McCain’s campaign only started to get traction, and was in fact for a while on its way to victory, AFTER he picked Palin as a running mate?

…so if this film makes them look bad in a way that’s truthful and forthright, whose fault is that? Their own, maybe

    The truth begs nobody’s pardon.

Aye truth is it’s own virtue, and requires no other justification.

I suspect that the Stupublican establishment is in for some rude shocks in the first few primaries. In my opinion these primaries are selecting the next President of the United States. We must choose wisely.

  • http://thepagantemple.blogspot.com/ ThePaganTemple

In a way I’m kind of glad Huntsman’s in there and I hope Rudy gets in as well. Between them two and Gingrich there might be enough drain of RINO votes away from Romney to more than offset the conflict between Bachmann, Cain, and Perry if he gets in.

  • Anonymous

Why does everyone keep saying Huntsman is in the race? He’s missed several events that one would think he’d attend. While it’s not as late IMO as some of the pundits make it sound I don’t see where Huntsman is actually more in the race than Giuliani.
IMO the analysts are making the mistake of using pre-Tea Party analytics.

  • http://thepagantemple.blogspot.com/ ThePaganTemple

According to somebody yesterday on Fox, Huntsman is running second in the polls behind Romney in New Hampshire. And look how he came in second behind the Paul-bots at that conference.

Someone else may get the GOP establishment on their side, but Palin has the truth on her side.

If she runs, I think she wins.  When she showed up to help Perry, his crowds of 500 became a crowd of 5000.
