Obama’s Basic Problem: They Don’t Teach Economics at Harvard Law School

Ace of Spades points out the obvious:

When Obama was on this supposed non-political listening tour in swing states, he actually wasn’t presenting a plan, of course.
He was promising he would have a plan.
That’s odd, isn’t it?

All Obama knows about economics is what his neo-Keynesian advisers tell him about the glorious benefits of deficit “stimulus” spending. Beyond that, he understands the politics of class warfare and scapegoating Republicans. But as far as understanding why his own policies have been the exact opposite of what was needed to put America back on a path of growth . . .

No, he doesn’t understand that at all. And likely never will.

    For normal people, yes. For Obama, I will refer — at somewhat of a stretch — to a golfing metaphor: “It’s par for the course.”

    Economists are all nuts. Haven’t any of you ever seen A Beautiful Mind. I know they all don’t go around seeing people that aren’t there, but it really wouldn’t surprise me. Economics doesn’t have anything to do with the real world. It’s all a bunch of guys standing around writing down arcane formulas that nobody has any idea what the hell it means, except supposedly them. Its all theory and none of it takes contingencies into account. It’s like trying to determine what the racial make-up of the entire world is going to look like two thousand years from now based on current trends. Its not real, people.

    Economics is a fine pursuit.  People just need to remember that as with most analytic disciplines, economics is very good at explaining what happened and why.  It is not so good at predicting what is going to happen, or when.

    Obama doesn’t know much.  He’s a huckster, a con man who talks a great line, but can’t put details down on paper because it would expose him as a fraud.

    This is why he still wants to tax the rich.  It’s all he knows, so even though he has personally acknowledged it’s a bad idea in a slow economy, he still wants to do it.

    Captain WTF doesn’t understand ANYTHING, that’s why he is consistently on the wrong side of every issue. I will never understand how in the hell the meme about him being intelligent ever gained any traction when he is clearly, for lack of a better word, retarded (no offense intended to the developmentally disabled). He can barely speak unless the words are fed to them on a teleprompter and even then it’s bad, stammering and filled with “errr”s and “uhhhh”s. 
    I think he may be autistic, and not in the savant way as he excels in nothing except being a douche bag. Do you remember the movie Rain Man? Do you remember how Dustin Hoffman’s character obsessively repeated certain phrases? So does Zero, and you know it. Think about it; replace “Wopner, definitely time for Wopner” with “I inherited”, “from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep my first thought is…”, “corporate jets”, “everybody (but me) is going to have to sacrifice”… yada yada bla bla bla he repeats himself every time he opens his insipid mouth.
    There are disorders that render a person incapable of making human connections, where the person appears robotic and completely detached. Obama has no human warmth, no sense of humor, when he is unscripted he is painfully awkward. His movements are wooden. He parrots the same talking points over and over and over. Nothing about him is “genuine”. There is something fundamentally wrong with him and it isn’t just narcissism. The only thing that’s kept him from a short bus ride to an institution are his handlers and enablers. There is nothing going on behind his dead eyes. And let’s not forget his thin skin and meltdowns.
    I’m no doctor, but it appears that we’ve got a “special needs” president.

    Its a lot of bullshit. Just another elitist enclave. Even if it is good at explaining what happened in the past (and I don’t even believe that) what good is that now? Look at the way Krugman talks, and acts, during interviews. You can tell the asshole is unhinged. They all are.
