This is just a great essay from a great American. Watch the whole thing.

I want Herman Cain to stick with conservative principles.  Because that is what impresses me (and so far he has done so).

And while Romney could take it all, that is all the more reason to support Herman Cain even harder.  Because Cain may surprise us all (except Stacy of course who spotted his talent long ago).

Mitt isn’t Meg, and conservatives aren’t CA, but $ isn’t everything.
Supporting Herman Cain lets even a victorious Romney know the direction the wind blows.

Are you suggesting that smoking rocks runs counter to conservative principles?

Well, I will make allowances for Stacy, Smitty and Wombat in Vegas.  What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Mr. Cain doesn’t really expound Conservative Principles very often. He does say a lot of things that conservatives like, while avoiding declarations of principle to back them up.

For that reason, I’ve been a little bit leery of how he bases his decisions. Newt, Michelle Bachmann, and sometimes Sen. Santorum do go to the trouble to state which conservative or Constitutional principle they are following with respect to a position they hold.  (Of course, so does Rep. Paul, who gets it wrong when it comes to foreign affairs, State, and wars.)

I wish he’d get a thorough interview by someone who gets to the core of Cain’s philosophy to help us understand where he’s coming from a little better.  Even when he’s on Levin’s program, Cain doesn’t make statements of conservative principle.  Levin just anoints him as “a conservative.”

If anyone has a link to something providing a better examination of Mr. Cain’s principles, I’d like to see it.

Except when a billion or so little critters hitch a ride home.

Discretion isn’t the most important part of valor.  It’s just the better part.

Zo has coined the most delicious distillation of how the Democratic Party sees its main constituency groups (such as blacks):  “Ballot Cattle”.  Two words that speak volumes.  Right up there with “Death Panels”.
