Cain Campaign Finished Third Quarter With $1.3 Million Cash on Hand, No Debt

Posted on | October 15, 2011 | 28 Comments

Got this press release just after midnight:

Cain’s Surge Leads to Increase in Support

The Friends of Herman Cain presidential campaign committee reports total third quarter contributions of $2,813,341.52 with cash on hand of $1,333,778.56. The committee reported no debt.
The momentum from the September 22nd Fox News-Google GOP Presidential Debate in Orlando and Cain’s subsequent Florida, Kansas City, Minnesota, and Illinois straw poll victories has elevated Mr. Cain to front-runner status and has helped the committee raise an additional 2 million dollars since the close of the FEC reporting period.
“We have had a very successful quarter.  Mr. Cain’s message is spreading and attracting supporters all across the country,” said Mark Block, Chief Operating Officer for Friends of Herman Cain, Inc.
Cain’s 9-9-9 Plan to restore the economy is resonating with the general public and this surge of momentum has enabled the campaign to leverage Cain’s rise in the polls into financial resources.  The American public is eager to elect a leader with a proven record of leadership and common sense.

Speaking of “resonating with the general public,” Citizens for Cain has this video of Cain’s appearance on the Steve Gill Show:

This is where the Florida lunacy forcing an early start to the actual voting hurts Cain.  He is solid gold right now.  He has strong momentum, has handled his rise to the top tier with aplomb, and has attracted more favorable coverage than most conservatives candidates might expect in moving up.

Now should be the time he employs his executive skills to build a bigger organization and bring on more top staff, and especially to strike while the iron is hot and raise money like there is no tomorrow.

The earlier primaries rob Cain of about five weeks he could use for those important tasks which could determine how far in the primaries he can go, and that’s a big handicap, about 25% less time to get them done and campaign.  Romney has a national network and organization for years now, Perry has a national fundraising operation and his state political team was Texas-sized, while Cain will be introducing himself to money men who wouldn’t return his calls a month ago.

Just please, whatever you do, if Cain doesn’t get the nomination, don’t start pushing for him to be VP. I can smell that coming a mile away, and I’m telling you all right now, Cain would be a shitty VP. This is a man who’s used to RUNNING things, he’d have a psychotic breakdown having to sit in the Senate doing NOT A DAMN THING!

It does seem like central economic planning to me. How long did
it take for the Cain campaign to switch it from 999 to 999 and 333?

Answer: Less than a month. Does anyone doubt that this plan
will change completely by the time it is fully vetted?

I would think he could use this new money coming in to run some ads in New Hampshire, Iowa and especially South Carolina.  He cannot create an organization like what Romney built with many millions over years.  So don’t try.  It would be a waste of money.  Five weeks, try five years.

Do what is best with what you have now.

Cain needed chemo.  Paul needs electro-shock.

Not many delegates in those first five states with Florida’s coming in at half price.  It’s a long run through the rest of the states, especially with no organization at all.

No one is going to top Romney’s organization built with millions over years, but it’s hard to beat something with nothing.

Hmm, under Cains plan: 10,000 dollar used car becomes 10,900. That is until the plan goes to the straight sales tax model of 30% vat. Then, 13,000. How’s that for affordability. That’s one more year on the loan, one more year for interest to the banks. Do any of you have an f-ing clue about what this plan really means for the future of this country? He has proven himself a liar on more than one occasion and constantly shifts his message to try and sound more like what the electorate wants. If we can’t trust his words now. How will that work when he gets in office, with more power??? Get off the Cain Train before its too late, as he will run it right into the White House. He is the definition of corporatism. So what if he is a businessman?? We cry so much about Washington being in the back pockets of businessmen, and vice versa because of the disasterous results. So, we seek to elect a businessman??????? Duh!!  He represents no change from what we have now, with a plan that will devestate the middle class because we are already on the brink.  Here is what I guarentee from this Fed shill:
1 wont stop militarism to save billions
2 won’t audit the Fed or push too, keep the secrecy secret. to keep the cointerfeit printing press rolling to restore the strength of our dollar.
3 won’t end the discriminatory drug war. to save billions.

What he will do sounds much like nine nine nine, and that is Lie, Lie, Lie

Ron Paul has more support than the two front runners combined:
Ron Paul: 100,000+ unique donations — 8 mil
Mitt Romney: 50,000 unique donations — 12 mil
    Rick Perry: 22,000 17 mil.

Doesn’t this say very clearly how you are being herded by the media? Don’t let them do it to you with Cain.
